It's atrocious. And it doesn't surprise me. The whole mess in Syria is nightmare fuel and external parties just seem to throw more weapons or logistical support into this civil war, when it appears that everyone is only becoming ever more radicalized and brutal the longer it drags on.

You'd think after 80,000 dead someone would take a step back and wonder whether everyone funding this blood bath from one side or the other might channel their money and energy into something to prevent further carnage? Like, say, talk? Now people are attacking Syrian refugees in Turkey because the mess the country helped stir is spilling over the border.

But who cares about civilians...

The most important point is that this is just like what happened in Libya, except that we supported the "rebels" and brought the "revolution" to a quick end. But despite the quick end, Libya is turning into a hardline Islamist state.

These nations are not having "revolutions for freedom" as we like to think of them but serious internal civil wars in which few participants are worthy of our support. The "rebels" who seem to best be able to take advantage of the chaos are hardline Islamists, whether you're looking at Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, or Syria.

Who IS this guy? Listening to him was pretty entertaining. I'd be going along, agreeing... Uh huh, uh huh... and then he would say something that would be so off-the-wall it was like getting an occasional shock of static electricity... a WTF? moment... and then back to Uh huh uh huh.

One of the points I really have to take issue with was his constant repetition of "Where is the left?". Like a lot of people who don't know a lot, he clearly hasn't even listened to "the left", prolly couldn't identify it if it had a sign and lights hung on it. "The left" is sick at heart about a possible upcoming "intervention" in Syria.

I take by ' where is the Left ' on this matter, he means were are the huge anti-war marches ? Granted, they were put on by the Workers World Party, whose guy is pretty much IN office now, so there is the small problem of protesting your own Nobel Peace Prize President.
