Rudy Giuliani’s fixer, Lev Parnas, turned over documents to the House Intelligence Committee. The documents tell a very ugly story.
One handwritten note of Parnas’s, scribbled on Ritz-Carlton hotel stationery, clearly states his main objective in his dealings with Ukraine: to get Ukraine’s president to announce “the Biden case will be investigated.” This got Trump impeached.
The documents also provide the strongest evidence yet that there was a corrupt understanding involving prosecutor general Yuriy Lutsenko (a Ukrainian official in the previous regime). Lutsenko offered to investigate Burisma and the Bidens — and, in exchange, he insisted that US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, whom he had clashed with, be fired. He made this quid pro quo clear in his messages to Parnas. This got Trump impeached.
But most disturbing of all is a set of messages Parnas received from a person named Robert F. Hyde, a Republican congressional candidate. Hyde texted Parnas that he had people tracking Ambassador Yovanovitch’s movements closely in Ukraine. He claimed he could tell whether her phone and computer were off. And he wrote: “If you want her out [killed?] they need to make contact with security forces.” (It is not yet clear whether these claims by Hyde were true.) A provable murder plot against an American Ambassador will definitely get Trump removed from office, but the GOP Senators aren’t interested in proving anything.
I know the Ambassador lives, which only proves Trump’s henchmen are no more effective than Fat Donny who gives Giuliani orders for the henchmen.

New documents show why the president has been trying to hide evidence from Congress.
Americans who have been wondering why President Trump has taken the extraordinary step of trying to block every document from being released to Congress in his impeachment inquiry need wonder no longer. The new documents released Tuesday evening by the House Intelligence Committee were devastating to Trump’s continuing — if shifting — defense of his Ukraine extortion scandal, just days before his impeachment trial is likely to begin in the Senate. These new documents demolish at least three key defenses to which Trump and his allies have been clinging: that he was really fighting corruption when he pressured Ukraine on matters related to the Biden family; that Hunter Biden should be called as a witness at the Senate impeachment trial; and that there’s no need for a real, honest-to-goodness trial in the Senate.
The most basic principles of constitutional law require relevant information, including documents and executive branch witnesses, to be turned over to Congress in an impeachment proceeding. Particularly because sitting presidents cannot be indicted, impeachment is the only immediate remedy we the people have against a lawless president. For that remedy to have any teeth, relevant information has to be provided. That’s why President James Polk said that, during impeachment, Congress could “penetrate into the most secret recesses of the Executive Departments … command the attendance of any and every agent of the Government, and compel them to produce all papers, public or private, official or unofficial.” No president, not even Richard Nixon, thought he could just say “no” to impeachment. That’s why the House added Article II to Trump’s impeachment: “Obstruction of Congress.” It was a response to an unprecedented attempt by a president to hide the truth.
The documents released Tuesday show what Trump has been so afraid of. For starters, they prove that his already-eyebrow-raising claim to have been fighting corruption in Ukraine was bogus. Notes taken by Lev Parnas — who is an associate of Trump’s personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani and is now facing federal criminal charges — show what his and Giuliani’s mission was when they got in touch with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky: “get Zalensky to Announce that the Biden case will Be Investigated.” Look hard at the real goal here: not to prompt an investigation of Hunter Biden, but to score an announcement of a Biden investigation. Pursuing an announcement, rather than an investigation, makes sense only if Trump’s objective was to dirty the reputation of Joe Biden, a leading political rival.

This latest number comes from Decision Desk’s final tally of Pennsylvania’s votes, where Hillary lost by 46,435 votes. Add that to the official results out of Wisconsin, where Clinton lost by 22,177 votes, and Michigan, which she lost by 10,704 votes, and there you have it: 0.057 percent of total voters cost Clinton the presidency.

When Trump is on TV, his behavior suggests he is not smart enough to actually do the job of a President. But when I read about his performance at his workplace, I know for sure he is too stupid.

Before they could debate the Iran deal, Trump erupted to revive another frequent complaint: the war in Afghanistan, which was now America’s longest war. He demanded an explanation for why the United States hadn’t won in Afghanistan yet, now 16 years after the nation began fighting there in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Trump unleashed his disdain, calling Afghanistan a “loser war.” That phrase hung in the air and disgusted not only the military leaders at the table but also the men and women in uniform sitting along the back wall behind their principals. They all were sworn to obey their commander in chief’s commands, and here he was calling the war they had been fighting a loser war.
“You’re all losers,” Trump said. “You don’t know how to win anymore.”
Trump questioned why the United States couldn’t get some oil as payment for the troops stationed in the Persian Gulf. “We spent $7 trillion; they’re ripping us off,” Trump boomed. “Where is the f---ing oil?”
He didn't stop talking because Trump is stone-cold stupid.

The pressure campaign on Ukraine began largely because of Trump's belief that Manafort had been the target of a Ukrainian plot to damage Trump’s chances in the 2016 election.
Specifically, Trump's theory boils down to an August 2016 New York Times article reporting that Manafort’s name appeared next to $12.7 million in alleged bribes on a ledger belonging to the political party for which he consulted while working in Ukraine.
The article forced Manafort’s resignation from Trump’s campaign, and cited statements from Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau, which was investigating the ledger.
The bureau was set up during the Obama administration as a specialized anti-corruption prosecutor with access to help from the FBI, in theory giving it an edge in probing the kind of financial crime that bedevils Ukraine.
But to Trump, the suggestion that a Ukrainian law enforcement body released damaging information about the Trump campaign’s chairman constituted an example of “election interference” during 2016.
Another way to describe this is Trump is very stupid.

Again agreed. A major problem here is that those who support Trump, excluding the Russian trolls, take it as a victory when Trump gets away with shit. When he succeeds in postponing the release of information, blocking people testifying, or the Mueller report doesn’t see him indicted.
There are 10 potential obstruction of justice charges that await his return to private life, with another umpteen investigations going on. These trolls don’t realize they, their families and the futures of their grandchildren, lie in the balance if Trump succeeds in circumventing the law. They can not see beyond the tragic mischief of their next post.

If I had one grip with Trump, this would be it. He correctly said many times that the economy "improving" under Obama was smoke and mirrors, but pretends like everything is great now when for most people nothing has improved and wages have been stagnant for 20 years. I don't think many people are aware of how many people have to work 2 or 3 part time shitty jobs with zero benefits just to pay the bills.

Yeah, but I created that problem. I never went to the dentist after my teens, even when I had dental insurance. I'm sure that the drinking and the smoking didn't do me any favors either, but I've got a hereditary condition that I wasn't even aware of until I bit into a hoagie 5 or 6 years ago and a tooth almost popped out. Had I been getting regular cleanings and not allow that tartar to build up under my gums for more than 15 years straight, I wouldn't be losing more than half of my teeth next week.
I'm getting it taken care of now. I'm solving the problem to the best of my ability. Sure, I'd love to stroke my vanity and drop as much as I paid for my house to get implants, but at this point I'll settle for removing the chance that I'll get an abscess that kills me, collapsed nasal passages, septic shock, gaining the ability to eat things again that I haven't been able to for years and getting rid of my now-crooked smile... even if the teeth won't be mine.

Trump won't do it, and nobody else ever will either. We've had Democrat presidents with a majority in the house and senate and it's never happened before. Having dentures is considered a vanity thing. That's because all of those overpaid motherfuckers on both sides of the aisle have never had to try chewing with no top teeth and if any of them need dental work they get shiny new implants on our dime.
But yanno what? That's okay. If the dental industry was put under the insurance umbrella, this procedure I'm going through next week would cost me $50,000 instead of only $4,000. I can't even imagine what implants would cost if dental hygiene were under the medical insurance umbrella.
I paid $2,600 back in the early 2000's for a three minute procedure with a little KY jelly on my balls and an ultrasound just to find out if a lump on one of them was cancer. Given inflation, that would have cost more than having 14 teeth removed, a full denture, a partial denture and the realignment that will need to be done in 6 months.
I'm looking at this as quite a bargain.
And you know how cheap I am.

The section, like many parts of the Constitution, was slightly awkward—an anachronistic arrangement of words that don’t naturally trip off the tongue. The president, already bristling about his missteps, was getting angry. He chided the crew, accusing them of distracting him. “You know, your paper was making a lot of noise.
