Speaking of that, any of you who may be interested, I posted the slightly reworked Dragonfly teaser, and ACTs 1A & 1B in the Blue Sun room - comments, critiques would be most appreciated!

Segue to Maniac: LOL, if ya read the DF fic, you'll note I have finally found a face for Mekafoy - Danny John Jules - Cat from Red Dwarf and Assad from Blade 2. I can 'see' him in Alliance grey with a pencil thin mustache and having a Grand Moff Tarken demeanor. His role in Blade really is the thing that inspired me to choose him for Mekafoy.

NOW to Malichi : Nope, I think you went exactly the correct distance - Slight is not used to being 'dismissed' - in his past (by Raven's writings} Slight is used to the guts and balls method of attack. Malichi may actually earn Slight's respect with the bit you setup and pulled on him. We shall see - we KNOW he can repair himself, the DEEPred can insure his survival.

SO - GOOD ON YA!

Everything is setting up nicely - Merz's fracture, Jayne's misunderstandings, Inara's internal conflict, Rowan Observing and Analyzing, River playing (in more ways than one} with Geezer, Wash trying not to fret over the run, Zoe wondering if Mal has finally snapped, Slight returning from the dead to find YET another foe - or will it be ally ... only the Flow knows.

VONDERFUL!!!!

Halloween is the busiest time for us - costumes to make, detail to fix for a Haunted House, $$$ to be won at contests - our best win was 2 grand cash for Cathy as the Queen Borg and I as a blinky spackled and voice altered Borg Drone!!! Hello Gunrunners -

A couple of things.

1: Inaraesque is experiencing internet problems, so posting is an issue for her right now. Please bear with her.

2: Re-reading my movement post with a map in front of me has made me aware that my blocking was frelled up. I am editing my post to correct my movement so it makes sense in context. I do not think anyone else specified WHERE I moved so it should not mess anyone else up. If so I apologize ... but it was bugging me.

3: Maniac#1 - I am surprised. Did it not strike Book as odd that the athiestic Mal was asking to pray over anything? especially dynamite? (Oh and I hope Malachi survives, that has been FUN to read!)

What an interesting few days it has been. I am sooooo jazzed right now.

I'm starting to feel badly for Damon! The poor guy keeps getting dumped on. Oh, but nice dialogue, Squee, I loved "I see how it goes... let the goushi buru sucker work all day and then screw him over." And his impotence whenever he tries to do anything other than just work - just being a slave.

What's with all the post holders? I don't like the idea of posting when I know someone's doing something before me, but I don't know what.

Things were moving VERY fast yesterday and Cat and I doing Halloween is a BIZZY time fer us.

That is why I tried an 'Idea holder' as it shows the foundation and intent - just not all the extra stuff. Helps the other players to see where I am going. Hope it works to some degree.

On Postholders -
I've ranted about this already to Capn and Merz. Here's my thoughts.

I would think post holders would cause more harm than good. They can hold up the other players, and cause the post holder themselves some continuity problems. The ones we've had so far have been well used - once they are used. Sometimes they also end up as just blank blips in the RP.

I'm with Capn that an idea post is a good thing. It can get your thoughts out there for the other players to play off of, and mark your spot at the same time. A player can always come back and edit later, so long as they don't get too carried away.

There's also the false expectation that comes into play when you see on the main board that the RP has been updated, only to find out, once you're in the RP, that it's just a post holder and not an actual move with cool and interesting writing. As a reader, VERY disappointing.

That's my take on it.

It went another direction, so no harm, no foul.

However, remember that near-eye-opening conversation Mal and Book almost had?

Well, Mal will be looking for Book in a while. Mal needs to deal with post-panic-popped Damon and find out what is up with Rowan. Then he needs to talk with somebody he trusts - Book.

Mal is real near a vein-busting of his own. Needs to spill it. Course he won't call it a 'confession', but I hope we both can get some good interestin' interaction running rampant.

I am working on Mal's speech'a'fying and will send you a copy of what Mal is gonna spill to Book.

CapnRahn, I do see how these post holders can be an advantage. When used to give a basic idea that will be fleshed out at a later time, I don't have any problem.

Channain, I think we're in agreement on all points. I know what you mean about the post holders being a little disappointing when you come across them, but it certainly has its advantages.

Decoy, somewhere in an ancient Voyager space probe circling a dead sun is a datastream that goes nowhere, but if its LCD screen still functioned it would say "The time on this computer has been automatically updated for Daylight Savings Time." Sorry, I just wanted to put one of those wacky things out there...

I also agree on all these points. I'm finding myself using the "basic idea" holders more frequently lately, because so much is happening and my only time to post is while I'm at work. (4 adults with computer addicitions and 2 computers in the house makes for very little online time at home!

Inaraesque: We have to take travel time, unlocking her shuttle door, changing and returning to the Galley VS how quick Merz is getting her stuff out of the bunk that is right outside the Galley fore hatch.

I would say, Mal is not back to the Galley yet and the hatch to Merz's bunk {where Damon is collecting himself} is closed, but not locked when Inara comes back to the Galley.

Mal may have been in the Mer's room with Damon or in his own - bet Inara and Mal 'just' missed passing each other.

Mal will return in a moment to give something to Jayne and then we can do what you suggested in IMs.

I guess I should clarify a bit cuz i think my question was misunderstood. I was asking if Zoe could do the search 'now' as opposed to in the galley so that I could have Damon respond to it.

(Yes, Debs, you just about nailed it. A couple days ago, I had already figured that Damon would turn his own pockets inside out and give Zoe his knife and oath that he has nothing else on him in hopes that she won't have to get hands on.)

But it's not really important so no worries. My own fault for not knowing what "please take our young charge in hand fer a moment." means.

Not so much the words, Squee, but the action should have tipped you.

Even tho "taken in hand" is a {military, police etc} code sometimes used to let another member of your team to do a frisk - without letting the suspect know he was going to get patted down.

You've never been in the military or police, so I would suspect you to be ignorant of that code. Unless you were a military/police movie/TV show fan, LOL.

However, One watching and knowing Firefly, One should know, Mal ordering it or not - Zoe would remove any potential weapons from the perps vicinty.

Pulling that prank/test on Damon was not only on or for Damon was it? That was a test for ALL of the hitchers am I right?

Forced the same kind of gut reaction as that bizarre, psycho thing he did to Simon. Which way will the bunny hop under stress? I can see that, especially since he may need to know relative strengths and weaknesses on the morrow ... yeah, that's the Mal who put Jayne in the airlock.

Do I see it right? Or am I just blowin' smoke up your skirt?

I am so glad the election is over. I think it's evil effects had taken over my brain functions. I can feel a lessening of the tension already. Even though I'm unhappy with the outcome, perhaps now I can focus more on Book. It's been really hard to think about him sometimes, even though he's my favorite character, (praise be to Ron and Joss) just because of what I just said 'bout the Gorram politics. It's not fair to Book or the crew. Anyhow, I hope to get soused and drown my sorrows. If depression doesn't set in, I will come out stronger than before. Wish me luck.

Hi, guys. As you may have noticed, THORNE hasn't been much of a presence recently, and I'm taking him out of the game for a while. If you want to resurrect him later with another RPer thats fine with me.

When I started the RP, I had sort of expected the story to have a short, finite, relatively scripted life, which suited my short attention span perfectly. Since then we've done a lot of good work, but have gone in a different direction from what I was originally interested in. Rather than being a drag on the whole team due to my inconsistent participation, I'll just get out of the way and let you roll. Maybe I'll try my hand at fanfic, or go back to poetry.

Y'all have fun. I'll continue to follow the story, and hope everyone comes out all right. And remember, Thorne is still out there somewhere. Watching.

Hey all. By now you've probably all seen my blog about having lost my job on Friday. Sorry I haven't been around to post for Zoe, but things have been... interesting. (And on top of being laid off, I've acquired a lovely sinus infection that's kicking my tail feathers.)
