Wow...

Okay, you definitely brought a tear to my eye as soon as the first chorus hit. Beatifully done.

I'll be honest and say that some of the later cuts weren't as clean as that first set, but it is still an absolutely wonderful work.

I'd highly recommend that we find a way to ensure that the BDH's see this. I think that they'd really appreciate it!

That was one big damn shiny video there! :) I like it!

Now there's this scene in it where the camera pans across the cast as they're walkin' through the desert. I've seen that in another video and I've used it in my King of the Hill sendup, but what ep does that come from? I can't seem to place it.

And Wiccanslyr, do let me know if you can send me some clips for a project I'm workin' on. Wave me about it.

I believe that it's from Heart of Gold, but I haven't checked. Pretty sure it's from after they land, as they're first walking up to the Heart of Gold, itself.

Liked how you matched the lines to characters. Pity there was nothing for Wash or Zoe.

Whoo, that was truly wonderful! I was surprised to see the screen caps of all the sites, so that was a really original aspect that flowed well with the song.

I still grieve so deeply for the Firefly series, like an untimely taken child, that the pain of lost beauty threatens to crush my world-weary soul. Your video sadly reminds me of that loss; but it also resurrects the joyous beauty Firefly brought into my life, if only too briefly.

I can scarcely watch an episode from the DVD set without breaking down at least once. Really. Same reason: I just can't believe it's gone. At some point during the viewing, it'll hit me that Firefly -- as we knew it -- is never coming back, and it's instant waterworks. I've never felt this way about a TV series.

I'm just an overly sensitive softy, though. The arts and poignant moments have always touched me. But it's okay. I figure pain and joy are flip sides of the same coin; I wouldn't give up one and lose the other. And yes, I feel joy as overwhelmingly as I do sorrow...

So, it was not a backhanded compliment. Your montage was very moving. Brava!

I use something called HT Video Editor.

But Microsoft Moviemaker (which comes standard on any windows based PC and can be upgraded for free at Microsoft.com) is also a descent program for vid making.

The most important thing when making vids is to have good source material. My source material comes from DVD rips.

Well you need the source to be in a usable format which mean either downloading it or 'ripping' (converting) it to a useable format. You can get ripping software on-line. Just enter 'DVD Ripper' into your browse and see what's out there.

I paid for the ripping software and the DVDs. I'm assuming that you already have FF on DVD so you're looking at around $30 for the software.

I did find all the eppies for Download (for free) once, but I can't recall where. You could probally do a search.

Wow, that was simply stunning. A work colleague (and fellow Browncoat) told me how good this was, but even after a such a build up, seeing the actual video still floored me. Brilliant work.

After learning of the delayed release date this week I was feeling a bit down but this gave me such a tremendous lift. Think I'll watch the entire series through again this weekend while I'm still on the high

I especially liked the inclusion of the website screen shots; seeing them all in sequence like that really does underline how powerful and prominent our fandom is now. We believe indeed!

Bingo. That as much as the shots of our BDH really brought the impact home. There is no way I could explain what all that meant to anyone else who didn't understand the pain and anquish we all felt . Sure, showing a web page set to music really makes a statement. LAME But to those of us who know the beauty in that and all that it means and stands for ....(sniff) it's Shiny!

first off, nice vid!

second, PR, give DVDshrink a shot. It's free, and it's worked pretty well for me so far. It's at http://www.dvdshrink.org You just need a DVD-ROM drive. The clips will take up a lot of space, though, so if you have a DVD-R, that's helpful.

uh...I thought so. I'm very new at this too, so I pretty much reached the end of my brilliance with 'dvdshrink is good.' sorry.

I don't know what kind of editing software is out there really, I thought I'd give WMM a shot first to see if I liked it.
