Trump is not the problem. He set himself against the Deep State's agenda. And the Deep State's been heading for WWIII for years.

Bad Night for Trump Sets the Stage for More GOP Infighting
WASHINGTON — Trumpism took a beating.
Now, President Donald Trump, former White House strategist Steve Bannon and their allies are racing to rescue it from the ashes of Republican Ed Gillespie's resounding defeat in Tuesday's Virginia gubernatorial election and GOP losses in dozens of down-ballot contests across several states.
They contend that Virginia voters spurned a consummate Washington insider — not the president's brand of politics — even though a massive turnout surge in Democratic strongholds suggests there was little Gillespie could have done to overcome the anti-Trump wave.

Democratic Election Sweep May Complicate GOP Push For Tax Reform
WASHINGTON ? If you’re a vulnerable Republican lawmaker from a high-tax state like New York, New Jersey, or California, Tuesday’s stunning Democratic sweep in key state and local elections may give you some pause.
Passing a tax reform bill that analysts say raises taxes on some middle-class Americans was already a politically risky move, but the task may prove even more difficult given the Democrats’ big wins in Virginia, New Jersey, and Washington state.

The trollz hav a stratejy.
Derail discussionz by posting oppozing opinionz. If you agree with a post, therez not much to reply with besidez additional info if you hav any, so the trollz hav an immediate advantaj.
Optimizing the stratejy involvez several tekneeks - repetition, saturation, fire.
Repetition: Keep saying the same messaj at every opportunity. EVERY post needz a respons.
Saturation: Dont let any topic slip by without turning it into your messaj. Cant do it? Start a new thred with the same or similar title to dilute the audiens for the orijinal thred. (Like Siggy did with 'Evidens')
Fire: Insults, accuzationz uv bias, claimz uv incorrect info, anything to turn it into a pissing contest that nobody else will bother reading.
They are doing a great job.

They are doing a great job of exposing themselves. This all is documented on Google. Anyone reading can look at the post and see if it matches the facts as they remember them. They can see how some use the tactic of deflecting away from subjects because the facts don't match their posted perspective. And in my case I point these things out.
The way to fight trolling is to be consistent and honor the truth. Anyone following will pick up on that if they too are honest. There are years of threads here that people stumble upon if they search firefly on Google. It's easily discernible who the nuts are.

Senate Republicans on Thursday plan to propose delaying a cut in the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 20 percent until 2019, four people briefed on the planning said, a major departure from President Trump’s insistence on immediate changes that he says are necessary to spur the economy…. To try to prevent companies from waiting until 2019 to invest, Senate Republicans will propose to allow companies to immediately deduct all capital investments in 2018 to incentivize them to spend more money immediately, the people said.

I have two comments:
This is idiocy in the extreme. The sole reason for delaying the tax cut is to reduce the cost of the plan in its first ten years. It makes no sense as policy, but it’s a good way to game the CBO score.
It’s not a “major departure” from anything. Donald Trump doesn’t have a clue what he really wants, and he will praise anything that Republicans produce.
We are now entering serious smoke-and-mirrors territory.

But there is still more to be said (Isn't there always?):
The Republican Party has long billed itself as being for family values, for the dignity of work, for lower taxes, and (at least, as the minority party) for balanced budgets. The House GOP tax bill cuts against all of these positions.
It would raise taxes on about one-third of the middle class by 2027. By eliminating the estate tax, it would benefit heirs of large estates, even if they don’t work a day in their life. Meanwhile, by eliminating some tax breaks often claimed by higher earners, the plan would raise taxes on many upper-middle class households. As a result, the bill would ironically privilege the “idle rich” over the “working rich.” And by slashing corporate taxes by several trillion dollars, it would raise deficits by trillions of dollars, even according to the most pro-Republican analyses.

This process has also been going on under Obama as well, except that instead of tax cuts, corporations have been able to access zero-interest rate money, and have been using THAT as their fount of cash for stock buybacks. Thanks to the Fed, which the President has SOME control over.

Trump voters are reacting to Trump’s broken promises by deciding they don’t care about the promises. The following excerpts are from:
www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/11/08/donald-trump-johnstown-penn
sylvania-supporters-215800
I revisited and shook hands with the president’s base—that thirtysomething percent of the electorate who resolutely approve of the job he is doing, the segment of voters who share his view that the Russia investigation is a “witch hunt” that “has nothing to do with him,” and who applaud his judicial nominees and his determination to gut the federal regulatory apparatus. But what I wasn’t prepared for was how readily these same people had abandoned the contract he had made with them. Their satisfaction with Trump now seems untethered to the things they once said mattered to them the most.
“I don’t know that he has done a lot to help,” Maggie Frear told me. Last year, she said she wouldn’t vote for him again if he didn’t do what he said he was going to do. Last week, she matter-of-factly stated that she would.
I asked Pam Schilling what would happen if the next three years go the way the past one has.
“I’m not going to blame him,” Schilling said. “Absolutely not.”
Is there anything that could change her mind about Trump?
“Nope,” she said.
A gray-haired man told me he voted for Trump and was happy so far because “he’s kept his promises.”
I asked which ones.
“Border security.” But there’s no wall yet. “No fault of his,” the man said.
What else? “Getting rid of Obamacare.” But he hasn’t. “Well, he’s tried to.”
What else? “Defunding Planned Parenthood.” But he didn’t. “Not his fault again,” the man said.
I asked for his name. “Bill K.,” he said. He wouldn’t give me his last name. “I don’t trust you,” he said.
I compared this year’s answers to last year’s responses it seemed clear that the basis of people’s support had morphed. Johnstown voters do not intend to hold the president accountable for the nonnegotiable pledges he made to them. It’s not that the people who made Trump president have generously moved the goalposts for him. It’s that they have eliminated the goalposts altogether.
His supporters here, it turns out, are energized by his bombast and his animus more than any actual accomplishments. For them, it’s evidently not what he’s doing so much as it is the people he’s fighting. Trump is simply and unceasingly angry on their behalf, battling the people who vex them the worst—“obstructionist” Democrats, uncooperative establishment Republicans, the media, Black Lives Matter protesters and NFL players (boy oh boy do they hate kneeling NFL players) whom they see as ungrateful, disrespectful millionaires.
And they love him for this.
“I think he’s doing a great job, and I just wish the hell they’d leave him alone and let him do it,” Schilling said. “He shouldn’t have to take any shit from anybody.”
“I don’t give the guy that much credit,” John Daloni said, referring to the president, “but man—he knows what buttons to push, and he’s pushing ’em.” His insistent declarations of success no matter the reality—it’s working. Trump’s inveterate blame-shifting—it’s working.

Quote:If you don't like where the rich invest their loans, savings, and tax cuts, then don't cut their taxes. Instead, RAISE their taxes and invest that money where you like. But tax "reform" was always about pleasing the rich, me and Trump, who invests his money overseas:

Top White House economic adviser Gary Cohn’s background as a Goldman Sachs executive leaves him more experienced in the art of talking to really rich people than communicating with the public. That ends up making this interview with CNBC’s John Harwood, published this morning, an extraordinary document, because when Harwood pushes him on a few points, Cohn ends up basically surrendering and admitting the plain truth about the Republican tax plan: that it’s a bonanza for big businesses and the rich, whose main benefit for normal people is a vague hope that prosperity will trickle down from those at the top.
www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/11/9/16628130/gary-cohn-tax-plan
Do I have to mention that the Democratic Party is opposed to the GOP tax "reform"? Hillary campaigned on raising taxes for the rich. I'll be surprised if even one Senate Democrat votes for Trump's tax "reform" as I would have been if a Democrat voted to repeal Obamacare.

Huh....
Can't remember exactly what Second's signature did. It had something to do with the link at the end. Doesn't seem to be happening here now though.
I noticed that the last few posts from Second didn't have a sig at all. It's not a bad thing to have in the signature so it's a shame to remove it instead of just fixing it. I'll have to just point it out again if I ever have problems with it in the future.

When it comes to climate change, the GOP has the unique position of the only major political party in the democratic world to reject the legitimacy of climate science and any domestic policy or international agreement meant to address it. Instead, the GOP is working actively to increase production and consumption of fossil fuels and to slow the transition to renewable energy.
The conventional wisdom gets the causal arrow backwards. Americans don’t develop political and policy opinions based on an assessment of climate science. They assess climate science based on preexisting political and policy opinions. That’s why trying to change minds with science-based arguments is so rarely effective.

Quote:The inconsiderate behavior was an essential part of getting rich. It's a Texas oil field thing as in the saying: "Nice guys finish last." The Democratic Party absolutely does not endorse that attitude of winner takes all. The party is more about spreading the wealth around, as you can see in their tax policy and welfare policy differing from the GOP.

6ixStringJack and second both watched Firefly and Serenity, but that does not make us friendly and agreeable members of the same polite tribe. Quoting from the article: Opinions aren’t formed in a vacuum, they’re formed in life, and in life, one is always surrounded by tribes enforcing worldviews in millions of explicit and implicit ways. Knowledge and motivation are social phenomena, not individual phenomena. Even if conservatives could be convinced of “free market” solutions to climate change, show me more than a handful of conservatives willing to prioritize their alleged fealty to free markets over the good opinion of their peers and tribal leaders. Show me a GOP politician willing to put their alleged fealty to free markets over the good opinion of their constituents and their chances of reelection.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating an alleged plan involving former White House national security adviser Mike Flynn to forcibly remove a Muslim cleric living in the U.S. and deliver him to Turkey in return for millions of dollars, according to people familiar with the investigation.
Under the alleged proposal, Mr. Flynn and his son, Michael Flynn Jr., were to be paid as much as $15 million for delivering Fethullah Gulen to the Turkish government, according to people with knowledge of discussions Mr. Flynn had with Turkish representatives. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has pressed the U.S. to extradite him, views the cleric as a political enemy.
Just think about this. A special prosecutor apparently thinks there’s credible evidence that Mike Flynn was involved in a plan to kidnap a Muslim cleric living in Pennsylvania and deliver him to Turkey in return for $15 million. This was in September 2016, while Flynn was a top surrogate in Donald Trump’s campaign. And Flynn was the guy who Trump originally chose as his National Security Advisor.

By the way, your "requirements" are self-contradictory. How can anyone be a slightly to the right and liberal?
Or maybe what you meant was: Slightly to the right, middle, OR liberal. THAT would make more sense! Anyway, it's not the same as your title, so change one or the other.

But actually, once you get away from the world of ludicrous extremes in which every choice leads to bloodshed, large numbers of moral questions are incredibly easy. The hard thing is not “figuring out what the right thing to do is” but “mustering the courage and selflessness to actually do it.” In real life, the main moral problem is that the world has a lot of suffering and hardship in it, and most of us are doing very little to stop it. If we must put everything in terms of trolleys, the closer parallel would be: a trolley is bearing down on five people, and someone says to you “If you give me your money, I can save them.” You immediately get quite uncomfortable because you wanted to buy something, and come up with a sheepish rationalization like “Uh, well, I can’t just go around giving money to anybody who asks me, it’s not sustainable.” (Then everyone dies.)

I think there is a lot to be said SECOND for what you post. We are as a society 7.5 billion. That would include a lot of bad folk. And a lot where nature nurture would turn people desperate. However, much of the good goes unnoticed and unreported. That is truly something we can thank the media for fueling. They appeal to our worst nature because we are drawn in so easily to the negative. It's were the money is for them, so to speak.
I'll quote something you said here. You telling SIG that what she does in these threads is toll and worse, while you intimate that a troll here would be a troll in the real world. My opinion when I see you asking her how she helps the cause of good outside these threads. I think we both know she doesn't, and we both know she'll lie and make something up.

A.K.A. Second is not nearly as deep as he would have you believe him to be.
Do Right, Be Right. :)
His posts suggests he is a thinker Jack. Just as yours suggest you are sick and not.
Excuse me for leaving your cartoon illustration massacre of people video out of my response to you. It's just I don't post videos of that nature. Full disclosure, I didn't bother to watch it either. SECONDS however was very interesting.
The point was that he's not a thinker, and citing Foot's Trolley Dilemma online today when The Good Place just discussed it in great length a few weeks ago is not any evidence that he is since any Google search will show you that it has been talked about very much by the ignorant masses lately.
Sorry not sorry for offending your delicate sensibilities, snowflake. That came from a sitcom with a PG13 rating, so it must be pretty tough for somebody like you to function in today's society.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

So, according to you and kiki now I'm a Russian troll. OK, I believe Russia is full of nothing but losers. It's nothing more than a gas station for Europeans run by a bunch of drunks and criminals.
I think Putins hates gays because he is one. And sooner rather than later Trump will be gone and Putins will get his. Right up the ass.
What do you think of Russia sig, kiki? Our actual Russian trolls. What do you think about Russia?

I think you think far too much about Russia, and have invested far too much hate and bile towards Putin because you're Russian.

Personally, I mostly don't care about what goes on in Russia except as it relates to us Americans. And since I think that nearly all of our worst problems (debt, climate change, wealth inequality, corruption, overextended imperial ambitions, corrosion of civil liberties, monopolism etc.) are self-inflicted and have nothing much to do with Russia, I don't think much about Russia.
What I have observed it that - after the USA militarily surrounded Russia; attempted to destroy it with a combination of sanctions, oil price war, and an attack on the ruble; illegally knocked over a series of governments in the Middle east and fomented "color revolutions" elsewhere; and withdrawn from missile treaties; and in addition ...
Attempted to open up another front by "pivoting east" to China ...
1) Russia has gone on a war footing, and
2) Russia and China have been thrown into each other's arms.
Like I said: self-created problems.

Just making a point sig. Normally I wouldn't post so negatively about the people of a particular country. In this case I did it to prove my point.
Over the last couple of years you have had many opportunities to suggest Russia is wrong about this or that. Not once have you done anything but defend it. You say you only care about Russia as it applies to us Americans. Well, over the years you've taken their side on everything. As you do here again. All the while attacking every aspect of democracy.
Whenever you are confronted directly, first you defend Russia and blame America. Then you deflect. Just as you have done here. Fallacy of relative privation sig. Why would we talk about Russia when the rest of the world is so fucked up. All this is right out of Putins' playbook. My point is made comrade.

Personally, I find Russia's actions to be mostly explicable based on Russia's interests. Their deals and partnerships with Turkey, KSA, and India are perplexing because the current leadership of those nations are unreliable backstabbers.
I question China's HUGE debt expansion, and I'm more worried about THEM wanting to become the world's new hegemon than Russia. The contention over the S China see seems irresolvable, and I think China is overstepping its maritime rights egregiously. I think the current and previous leaders of Venezuela have made fatal errors in what their did with their oil money. I would like to see the Taliban, ISIS, and al Qaeda blown off the face of the earth. I wish India would get its shit together instead of floundering as a mass of miserable humanity. Robert Mugabe is an asshole. In a world of corrupt leaders, Africa suffers from some of the worst corruption in the world. Duterte is an odd duck!

'Don't spew that stuff on me!': Shouting match erupts in Senate over GOP tax plan
A shouting match erupted in the Senate Finance hearing over the Republican tax overhaul, with Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown and Utah Republican Orrin Hatch arguing Thursday night over who benefits from the GOP plan.
At the heart of the argument is new analysis by congressional number crunchers that finds the plan cuts taxes at first but by 2027 actually raises taxes for anyone making less than $75,000.
"When the Republicans are in power, the first thing they want to do is give tax cuts to the rich. That's just what's — it's in their DNA," Brown said.

But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason for this, there’s a reason education SUCKS, and it’s the same reason it will never, ever, EVER be fixed.
It’s never going to get any better, don’t look for it, be happy with what you’ve got.
Because the owners, the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now, the BIG owners! The Wealthy… the REAL owners! The big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.
Forget the politicians. They are irrelevant. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice! You have OWNERS! They OWN YOU. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought, and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls.
They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want:
They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests.
That’s right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table and think about how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that!
You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork. And just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shitty jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you sooner or later cause they own this fucking place! It's a big club, and you ain’t in it! You, and I, are not in the big club.
By the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head with their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table has tilted folks. The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care! Good honest hard-working people; white collar, blue collar it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on. Good honest hard-working people continue, these are people of modest means, continue to elect these rich cock suckers who don’t give a fuck about you….they don’t give a fuck about you… they don’t give a FUCK about you.
They don’t care about you at all… at all… AT ALL. And nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. That’s what the owners count on. The fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that’s being jammed up their assholes every day, because the owners of this country know the truth.
It's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.
HAS IT NOT OCCURRED TO YOU BY NOW THAT IF YOU HAVE TO RESORT TO LOGICAL FALLACIES AND TROLLING YOUR SO-CALLED ARGUMENTS ARE LIES?

I do have a problem with it. It is what's being practiced now by many Trump voters; White first. Do you have a problem with that? That is identity politics.
The democrats are shaping their message and support to inner cities. This is where more votes are consolidated. They exclude the white voter that votes with them, in numbers that has allowed for the progressive advances in this country. They know we're here but they don't speak to our issues or even acknowledge us. They don't want to piss off the minorities who are angry about their circumstances. Why, because they blame Whites, all Whites.
This is some of reason Trump won and Steve Bannon has found a foothold into our politics. There are a lot of Whites pissed off about the progressive message of democrats. The one that excludes them. Bannons' voice has always been there, but because of identity politics it has made it into the White house.

Yes they are JO. Identity politics is people of a particular religion, race, social background, etc., forming exclusive political alliances. They move away from traditional broad-based party politics.
It explains why people who voted for Obama voted for Trump. They felt abandoned. This is one way to explain the hate on the right and left for the middle. Those who try and speak to all voters.
If you don't believe the progressive part of the democratic party hates anyone who tries to compromise, then you don't understand their platform. Many defectors from the party do. They did so because their platform is excluded. Excluded solely because they are not in the minority, and are being wrongfully blamed for the plight of the minorities.

Wonderful, except the I wasn't speaking about the media Jack. I was speaking about our political parties. That said, I would agree with anyone who suggested the media does tend to favor a left leaning agenda, but Jack, there's always a but.
So do those in our educational system including most scholars. The fact that they are very educated gives weight to what they say.
I don't like far left agendas in our press as much as I don't like them in our politics. I do find the press guilty, mostly of omitting some of the facts that may suggest other than what they believe. However, that is a far cry from reporting fake news. Besides, the press have every right not to publish information they feel is propaganda or without merit. They have a right not to be a conduit for bad or miss information.
Unfortunately that and some mistakes, leads to conspiracy theorists and alt right thinkers to claim foul. It's not anybody's fault but there own for being so ignorant and hateful of the truth.

It's not ignorance or hate. It's mistrust because nothing is news anymore. It's all editorials. Both "sides" are equally guilty of this. It's extremely rare that you can get any news today that isn't reported with bias. Most people are so entrenched on their own particular side that they don't even notice that it is there because they're hearing what they want to hear.
I'm looking forward to when the media slamming of Trump dies down and we can actually go back to facts and I can start jumping all over him for the bullshit he's actually doing... which I'm sure there is plenty to bitch about.
What the MSM is doing today is throwing out so much bullshit that it's impossible to keep up with any of it unless you make it a full-time job or at least a free-time consuming hobby like fantasy football (which many of you here seem to do).
Both sides deal in hate. You notice it when you watch anything from Fox News, but you don't notice it when you watch CNN. The equal and opposite can be said about JSF with both news platforms.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

You are a very silly person, T. I don't respect anybody who feels that they have all of the answers and it is their job to "enlighten" anybody else. This is the mode you operate under 24/7. You're just spreading the truth. You're just doing what is right. "You should HATE anyone who doesn't agree with my version of the truth..."
You sound like an evangelist. I want no part of your cult.
Do Right, Be Right. :)
