Maybe you ought to change your opinion about the benefits for yourself from that tax bill? I'll not change my opinion because the tax bill will immensely benefit me. I loved quantitative easing and love that tax bill. I will love it when Trump signs it into law. It shall be a day of celebration!

It said that part of the tax plan is to increase the national debt in ten years by 2 Trillion, which as bad as that sounds is severely putting the breaks on the additions after they gained great speed with GWB's administration (Doubled it) and went completely off the rails during Obama's administration (Further tripled it).

An increase of 2 Trillion is tiny compared to the existing national debt. That's why I stated earlier that I don't believe that projection, but that IS the proposed projection under the tax plan.

This comes as absolutely no surprise to me or anyone else on this board.

You LOVE to virtue signal all day long, but at the end of the day you're just a greedy elitist.

If you actually gave two shits about anybody you're supposedly "fighting" for, you'd be talking about how you were going to take those millions of unearned dollars you're going to be getting and donating them or doing missionary work with them.

But you're not going to do that are you, armchair warrior.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I believe the better view, supported by a reading of the Constitution, is that the president cannot say to a prosecutor, "I know Person A lied to you, which is a felony, but you should drop the investigation against Person A." Those who drew up articles of impeachment against former Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton clearly thought the president could be guilty of obstruction of justice because that charge was included against both of them.
Quote:

If the president interferes or impedes an FBI investigation with "corrupt intent," that's obstruction of justice under 18 USC 1512(c)(2). Trump has essentially confessed three times to his corrupt intent in firing Comey: on May 10 in the Oval Office, on May 11 to NBC's Lester Holt, and then in his tweet on Saturday (awareness that Flynn had committed a crime).
www.vox.com/2017/12/4/16733422/fbi-deal-trump-flynn-russia-comey

Very few Republican voters will understand what is wrong with "obstructing justice" in either the legal sense or the commonsense definitions, therefore there will be no consequences whatsoever for Trump. The Democrat Senators are not numerous enough to make consequences.

More unattributed quotes. Are they all from Obama and Clinton Lawyers? Or did you throw in some Carter, Blabbermouth, Jordan Lawyers too?

Six, you almost exposed the numbers here. But good to spotlight Second's duplicity.

I don't have a great breakdown right this moment, but on this day 2000 the Federal Debt was 5.6 Trillion, before Bush43 took office. His original proposal to reduce the DEBT (immediately eliminating the Deficit) was so aggressive that it eliminated the DEBT within 10 years (2010). But that did not include funding the War to resolve Clinton's flirtations with and avoidance of Osama.
So by 2004 the DEBT was 7.3 Trillion, an increase of 1.7 Trillion in 4 years.
By 2007, before the Rock The Vote Democraps hadvtheir Budget reins in effect, the DEBT was 8.9 Trillion, an increase of 1.6 Trillion in 3 years.
By 2008 the Rock The Vote Democraps had a full year of Budget reins and cranked up the Debt to almost 10 Trillion, or 1.1 Trillion in a 1-year span.
Now the Debt is 20.6 Trillion. And Second is hysterical about a 2 Trillion increase over 10 years?

Jeff Sessions, Mitch McConnell, 40+ others in GOP Congress think obstruction of justice should get a President removed

Although Trump's personal lawyer John Dowd conveniently thinks that U.S. presidents are above the law and can't be removed from office for obstructing justice, Jeff Sessions, Mitch McConnell, and dozens of other GOP members of Congress disagree.

At least they strongly disagreed back in 1999, when it suited their agenda to get Bill Clinton impeached for his obstruction of justice during the Monica Lewinsky investigation.

Back then, Jeff Sessions, an Alabama Senator said, “The facts are disturbing and compelling on the President's intent to obstruct justice." And Sessions wasn't alone.

According to Politico:

More than 40 current GOP members of Congress voted for the impeachment or removal of Clinton from office for obstruction of justice. They include Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell – who mounted his own passionate appeal to remove Clinton from office for obstruction of justice – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr, who was a House member at the time.

Hey 6ixStringJack. I haven't the will to convince you of anything. But keep on thinking you are right and I am wrong because your self-confidence is working out so very well for you and delivering material rewards to you every day, I'm sure.

Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, which is investigating the Trump campaign, said Mueller’s reported subpoena of Deutsche Bank “would be a very significant development”.

“If Russia laundered money through the Trump Organization, it would be far more compromising than any salacious video and could be used as leverage against Donald Trump and his associates and family,” Schiff said in a statement.

Deutsche Bank told Bloomberg in a statement that it always cooperated with investigating authorities.

Mueller asked Deutsche Bank for data on accounts held by President Donald Trump and his family, a person close to the matter said on Tuesday.

Germany’s largest bank received a subpoena from Special Counsel Robert Mueller several weeks ago to provide information on certain money and credit transactions, the person said, adding key documents had been handed over in the meantime.

The German bank is one of the few major lenders that has lent large amounts to Trump in the past decade. A string of bankruptcies at his hotel and casino businesses during the 1990s made most of Wall Street wary of extending him credit.

A U.S. official with knowledge of Mueller’s probe said one reason for the subpoenas was to find out whether Deutsche Bank may have sold some of Trump’s mortgage or other loans to Russian state development bank VEB or other Russian banks that now are under U.S. and European Union sanctions.

Holding such debt, particularly if some of it was or is coming due, could potentially give Russian banks some leverage over Trump, especially if they are state-owned, said a second U.S. official familiar with Russian intelligence methods.

“One obvious question is why Trump and those around him expressed interest in improving relations with Russia as a top foreign policy priority, and whether or not any personal considerations played any part in that,” the second official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

There was no immediate response to the Deutsche Bank subpoena from Trump’s lawyers.

The subpoena was earlier reported by German daily Handelsblatt.

When will Trump "Lock Her Up"? You're convinced she is a criminal, Trump is convinced, I'd be convinced, too, but only if Trump would lock her up. It was Trump's biggest campaign promise, bigger than punishing China for stealing jobs, bigger than Trump's promise to move all those Chinese jobs back to America. I also look forward to Trump's promise to stop Little Rocket-man, but I do hope Trump doesn't kill too many millions of South Koreans as collateral damage. I want to see Trump's promised Fire and Fury the Likes of Which the World has never seen before. The Countdown Clock keeps ticking on Trump's Promises and Impeachment and Re-election.

The link is NOT off topic because it is about Trump, not about you. Here is another link you won't understand, but understand this: the thread is NOT ABOUT YOU, 6ixStringJack. It is about Trump being fucked-upped-in-head crazy, even down to what he eats:

The president’s meal would clock in at 2,530 calories with 114g fat and 3530mg sodium. The USDA recommends 71-year-old, moderately active males consume 2,200 calories per day. Trump had already gone over his calorie needs for the day with just one meal. The sodium count of the McDonald’s meal also more than doubles the recommended intake of 1,500mg by the American Heart Association.

Trump’s affinity for the drive-thru is no surprise, but just how far his top aides would go to please his appetite could be considered shocking.

http://people.com/food/donald-trump-mcdonalds-order-calories-corey-lew
andowski-book

Worse still is how central this diet is to letting Trump “be Trump,” to quote the book’s title. Adviser Sam Nunberg got purposely left behind at one McDonald’s because his “special-order burger” was taking too long for the president. “Leave him,” Trump supposedly ordered. “Let’s go.” Lewandowski and Bossie add that orchestrating Trump’s meals was literally “as important as any other aspect of his march to the presidency.” Ensuring that a bag of hot fast food was waiting for Trump on the plane was therefore an all-hands-on-deck situation.

Regardless of Trump’s politics, every new detail the public learns about his diet is more cause for concern. Not only does he get a day-and-a-quarter’s worth of calories in one McDonald’s meal, but he’s 71 years old, is moody and chronically sleep-deprived, and also believes the human body is “like a battery” that comes with “a finite amount of energy,” which exercise “depletes.” Processed food doesn’t do him favors on any of these fronts.

Deutsche Bank told Bloomberg in a statement that it always cooperated with investigating authorities.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/dec/05/donald-trump-bank-records-hand
ed-over-robert-mueller

John McCain to Trump: Lay off the 'fake news' claims

Senator John McCain again called out President Trump for his anti-media rhetoric.
In a tweet Wednesday afternoon, McCain shared a new report from the Committee to Protect Journalists that says the number of journalists imprisoned around the world has reached 262, a new record.

The total includes 21 reporters being held on "false news" charges.
The president "must understand his harmful rhetoric only empowers repressive regimes to jail reporters & silence the truth," McCain wrote.

Former Watergate prosecutor: 'Conspiracy,' not collusion, is main issue in Russia investigation

Nick Ackerman, a former Watergate prosecutor, said Saturday that the big issue in special counsel Robert Mueller investigation is not whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia, but whether it conspired to steal emails from prominent figures in the Democratic Party.

"I think the big enchilada here is the conspiracy to break into the Democratic National Committee in violation of the federal computer crime law and to use those emails to help Donald Trump get elected," Ackerman said on MSNBC.

"All of that is motive as to why Donald Trump and others were endeavoring to obstruct the investigation, and why Donald Trump told [former FBI Director] James Comey to let the investigation on [former national security adviser Michael] Flynn go," he added. "All of this is going to come together in 2018."

How the FBI Russia investigation really began: Not a dossier, but 'firsthand information'

The FBI opened its investigation long before the election, not on the basis of the dossier or any other opposition research. The investigation began because a member of Trump’s own campaign blabbed to foreign officials that the Trump campaign had knowledge about Russia’s role in stealing information from Democratic officials.

Trump breaks with Bannon over his reported criticism of the president and his family

The president’s public denunciation of Bannon came only after a report early Wednesday, based on excerpts from a forthcoming book, that quoted Bannon condemning as “treasonous” a June 2016 meeting in which Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, met with Kremlin-linked Russians to get “dirt” on Hillary Clinton.

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad ... and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately,” Bannon reportedly said.

His verdict on the meeting in Trump Tower — an event now at the center of a special counsel’s criminal investigation of Russian election meddling and potential Trump campaign complicity — was taken from a book to be released next week and obtained before publication by the Guardian newspaper. Bannon’s reported comment is an especially damning charge, undercutting Trump’s claim that the Russia story is a Democratic hoax.

Prevezon’s lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, arranged the meeting with Trump Jr. last year. She had been pushing for a long time to get something done about the Prevezon case. So it's very possible that she went into that meeting with Trump Jr essentially asking for help, in return for which she would give the Trump campaign dirt on Hillary and the DNC.

Several months after Trump takes office, the Prevezon case is dismissed. So what happened? The U.S. attorney was carefully preparing a case against Prevezon Holdings. They were all set to go forward, and then suddenly the case was settled. Prevezon's own lawyers were kind of shocked. We know they paid something like $6 million, which is a fraction of what the lawsuit was about. So they were extremely happy about it.

Do we have any evidence that Trump was involved in any way with Prevezon? We know is that Preet Bharara, the attorney in charge of the case, was fired by Trump in early March, and shortly thereafter the Prevezon case was dropped. They had been ready to prosecute, witnesses were flown in, it was all set to go, and it was settled rather unexpectedly. So I think this is a case that hasn't really entered the public consciousness yet. But I'm sure that special counsel Robert Mueller's team is looking at it.

So why did it take the investigative team a year to finally get around to questioning the person who supposedly "started" the investigation in the first place? It's a pretty thin story, and just more starting-line-moving from the anti-Trump faction as they try to justify a really stupid (and probably criminal) action.

However, if the FISA court was at all involved... and it should have been .... the REAL story is still the affidavit and evidence therein justifying the issuance of a FISA warrant. It doesn't matter what anyone leaks to the press, the affidavit is a matter of written record.

Yanno, there are MANY reasons to not like Trump, but being a Russian stooge isn't one of them.

If "good" means effective, energetic, and competent. Bannon, who became chief executive of Trump’s team in mid-August 2016, called it “the broke-dick campaign.” Almost immediately, he saw that it was hampered by an even deeper structural flaw: The candidate who billed himself as a billionaire — ten times over — refused to invest his own money in it. Bannon told Kushner that, after the first debate in September, they would need another $50 million to cover them until Election Day.

“No way we’ll get 50 million unless we can guarantee him victory,” said a clear-eyed Kushner.

“Twenty-five million?” prodded Bannon.

“If we can say victory is more than likely.”

In the end, the best Trump would do is to loan the campaign $10 million, provided he got it back as soon as they could raise other money. Steve Mnuchin, the campaign’s finance chairman, came to collect the loan with the wire instructions ready to go so Trump couldn’t conveniently forget to send the money.

On Election Day there was, in the space of little more than an hour, in Steve Bannon’s not unamused observation, a befuddled Trump morphing into a disbelieving Trump and then into a horrified Trump. But still to come was the final transformation: Suddenly, Donald Trump became a man who believed that he deserved to be, and was wholly capable of being, the president of the United States.

That dependz on how you define stooge in Russia.

Here in America, a stooj in this context meanz a cheap brainless dispozable thug; an employee uv a criminal; a puppet. Elliot Ness: "We can keep arresting Blambino'z dime-a-dozen stoojez till Hell freezez over and never get near him. We need to work our way up the food chain."

Unlike everybody else at the top of Trump's campaign, Bannon believed Trump was going to win and Bannon made it happen. From the moment of victory, the Trump administration became a looking-glass presidency: Every inverse assumption about how to assemble and run a White House was enacted and compounded, many times over. The decisions that Trump and his top advisers made in those first few months — from the slapdash transition to the disarray in the West Wing — set the stage for the chaos and dysfunction that have persisted throughout his first year in office. This was a real-life version of Mel Brooks’s The Producers, where the mistaken outcome trusted by everyone, except for Bannon, in Trump’s inner circle — that they would lose the election — wound up exposing them for who they really were.

Bannon has not hired a lawyer. He knows he has no reason to worry about what Robert Mueller finds on him.

There is much the Senate can do to Trump, far short of impeachment, to kick him in his face.

Cory Gardner just showed how Senate Republicans could check Trump if they wanted to.
www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/1/4/16849584/cory-gardner-marijua
na

When Gardner threatens to hold up DOJ nominations, he’s not saying he will hold up nominees who disagree with him about marijuana policy. He’s saying he will hold up everyone regardless of the merits, in order to try to get his way on marijuana policy.

That’s standard-issue behavior for a US senator. And by the same token, if Flake or Corker or anyone else wants to shift Trump’s behavior on any topic, this is the way to do it. You don’t need to wake up one morning and become a liberal. But you also don’t need to write a book or give a speech or deliver a grandstanding interview. What you need to do is use your concrete powers of office to hold up things that other people care about until you get your way on an issue that you care about.

Republicans could, if they wanted to, demand that Trump stop mixing his business interests with politics. Or stop employing his unqualified son-in-law as a top White House aide. Or stop lying relentlessly about election fraud. Or whatever of a dozen other things he does that aren’t related to the main elements of conservative ideology. But they keep choosing on a daily basis not to do so, engaging in a form of “ideological collusion” that threatens the stability of American institutions.

Gardner’s actions today are a reminder that the GOP legislative caucus hasn’t forgotten how to use its powers of office — it’s simply decided not to.

Trump’s behavior is consistent with two diametrically opposite conclusions. It’s consistent with the possibility that Trump colluded with Russia in some way and is desperate to cover it up. But it’s also consistent with the possibility that Trump is entirely innocent. A person with Trump’s volcanic temper and bottomless feelings of grievance would probably react exactly the way he has if he had done nothing wrong.

So far, all the evidence we’ve seen publicly has come tantalizingly close to obstruction of justice, but has never quite gotten there. But even if it doesn’t, the precise legal definitions of obstruction apply only in a courtroom, not in an impeachment trial. The kinds of things Trump has done are more than enough to constitute a “high crime” if enough members of Congress think it does. At the moment, Republicans prefer keeping Trump in office. But if they ever decide he’s too big an albatross and they’d rather deal with President Pence, Mueller is almost certain to give them enough to make a case with.

Collusion and obstruction of justice are tricky to prove. Collusion is not even a federal crime, while charging someone with obstruction of justice demands that you prove a person’s criminal intent. Both rely on accounts of incidents reported by people with agendas.

With plain old money laundering, however, the crime is impossible to deny or overlook — it’s all there for you on paper. As sitting president, Trump almost certainly wouldn’t be criminally indicted if such a scheme were demonstrated, but could members of Congress really bring themselves to support a fraudster?

This week, three statements added fuel to speculation that Trump’s financial history may be the most sensitive thing unearthed by investigations into his presidential campaign: More at https://qz.com/1172800

Bannon hires lawyer as he prepares for Russia-related congressional testimony

Former White House strategist Stephen K. Bannon has hired prominent Washington attorney William Burck to represent him as he prepares to testify to the House Intelligence Committee about his role in Donald Trump's presidential campaign, according to a person familiar with the arrangement.

Bannon had previously insisted that he did not need a lawyer because he had not been drawn into the multiple investigations into whether Trump's team coordinated with Russia during the 2016 campaign. But in recent weeks, the House intelligence panel made a request that Bannon testify before the committee.

It's called due process. Which is why Mueller needs to see this through.

T

get a clue. Due Process is for courtrooms, not Congress. Congress is Deliberative Body, meaning "waiting for bribes before deciding"

Florida Rep. Tom Rooney, a senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said Tuesday that Steve Bannon's testimony is running into problems over whether he can invoke executive privilege for events that occurred during the transition.

Testifying about nonexistent items such as collusion are not the issue.
But pertaining to the fishing expedition from Mueller, about topics Banner is not authorized to discuss, he cannot discuss what he is expressly forbidden to discuss, or else he would be violating Federal Law. Just the sort of trap Mueller is slaving to create - to get innocent people to violate the myriad of tricky laws within the structure of Mueller's fishing expedition.

Steve Bannon Clashes in Russia Investigation With Congress During 'Total Free-for-All'

Congress issued a new subpoena against former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon Tuesday after he refused to answer questions during testimony in the Russia probe about his time in the West Wing and the transition period after the 2016 election.

Bannon sat for 10 hours with the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill Tuesday as he faced questions for the investigation into whether the Trump campaign aided Russia’s efforts to meddle in the election.

After the former White House official and ex-Breitbart News chief stonewalled Congress during the interview, the committee issued a subpoena seeking documents and more testimony, according to Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX) who heads the committee’s probe.

Bannon's attorneys related questions to White House in real time

Steve Bannon's attorney relayed questions, in real time, to the White House during a House Intelligence Committee interview of the former Trump chief strategist. That's according to people familiar with the closed-door session who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

During the day-long interview Tuesday, Bannon's attorney Bill Burck was asking the White House counsel's office by phone whether his client could answer the questions. He was told by that office not to discuss his work on the transition or in the White House.

It's interesting what Gowdy says about Bannon. I though he and Trump couldn't wait to testify. You know, to set the record straight. The problem Bannon and Trump now face is that they can't lie, or spin. If they do they go to jail. It's time to put up or shut up. Well, they shut up.

Seems to me what they claimed was fake news must have been true after all. Otherwise they would testify repeating their version of the facts. No contacts with Russia. The same set of facts they've been selling to morons like Jack, and trolls like sig and 1kiki.

It's simple, did this happen or not. Now's Bannon's chance to say it didn't. Why won't he? And Why is Trumps White House telling him to clam up?

I would remind these same assholes that Clinton testified for 12 hours about Benghazi. And, she answered the questions. Still these same morons and trolls attacked her. Well, how about you treat Trump and Bannon with that same sense of justice. The rest of us know that isn't going to happen because with you it never is about the facts. Come on rappy, JSF, Jack and our other trolls. Step up to the plate.

Get ready Jeff Sessions, your turn is fast approaching. It's going to be astounding to hear Sessions, Trump appointed head of the DOJ, plead the fifth.

Trump has denied he tried to fire special counsel Robert Mueller in June last year. But the reports have given extra ballast to accusations of obstruction of justice over the FBI’s Trump-Russia probe.

The fact that this took place just a month after he ousted FBI director James Comey, “shows that the pattern of obstruction is a strong case because this is yet another indicator of his intent to derail the investigation,” Georgetown law professor Carrie Cordero argued on the Brookings Institute’s Lawfare podcast yesterday (Jan. 26).

The main events known to the public that make up the argument for obstruction took place between January and July 2017. On July 15, Trump hired specialist white-collar crime lawyer Ty Cobb, who reportedly implemented a strategy of full cooperation with the FBI investigation. Since then, Trump’s most controversial actions towards the probe seem to have been curbed. Here’s a timeline of the biggest events during that six-month period at https://qz.com/1190106

Still, it is a very high bar needed before Mueller will act. Trump is President and you see how the republicans are. Still, after the elections if the republicans lose big, the democrats may have the votes to impeach.

The other thing about that is, except for the judges, 95% of what Trump has done can be reversed, fixed. Like the clean water act.

Trump turns Russia frustration to Rosenstein

Months after his reported effort to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, President Donald Trump is still fuming over the Russia investigation and has Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in his crosshairs.

The President has been venting about Rosenstein -- who oversees Mueller and the special counsel investigation -- in recent weeks, according to four sources familiar with the situation. At times, Trump even gripes about wanting Rosenstein removed, two of those sources said. One source said the President makes comments like "let's fire him, let's get rid of him" before his advisers convince him it's an ill-fated idea.

To stay in power, the GOP will let the Russians interfere

The Feb. 7 editorial “Speak up, Mr. Speaker” ended with this paragraph: “As always, it’s difficult — but important — to remember what is at stake. A foreign power interfered with an American election. Rather than help defend the country against future interference, the president is slandering the nation’s law enforcement and intelligent agencies. Mr. Ryan can abet the slander, or he can help defend the country.” It is most important to remember that this “foreign power” is a very hostile one; namely, Russia under Vladimir Putin. Unfortunately, President Trump is clearly Mr. Putin’s puppet, gushing over him whenever he gets the opportunity. And House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) is enabling the Russian puppet master. Mr. Ryan’s unpatriotic actions (turning a blind eye to Mr. Putin) and his cowardly subservience to Mr.?Trump make him unworthy to serve as speaker.

Why haven’t the Republicans done anything to prevent Russian interference in the 2018 midterm elections? The answer is simple: Republicans know they are in trouble, and they want Russia to interfere so that they can keep their majorities in both houses.

October 12 would be 242 days, so 266 days would be 5 November when Trump is Impeached, according to T, at 10pm Pacific Time Zone.

Rick Gates: Top Donald Trump Campaign Aide Will ‘Flip,’ Robert Mueller Russia Probe Closing In, Report Says.

Rick Gates, a top aide to Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election campaign and longtime business partner of Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, is ready to strike a plea deal with Russia investigation Special Counsel Robert Mueller, CNN reported on Thursday afternoon.
