Another person with snakes in their head.
When Trump is caught red-handed in a lie or scandal, he has a time-worn playbook for weathering it. First, he lies about the facts of the matter, attempting to create enough uncertainty to inoculate his base and a portion of the rest of the population against accepting the reality of what has happened. Second, he pivots to attacking his antagonists (which in the past have included a dead senator, the father of a fallen soldier, and judges of Mexican heritage). Finally, he tries to change the subject.
Far from Trump emerging into a new phase of his presidency with the release of the Barr report, he has in fact lapsed into this age-old pattern. Phases one and two came quickly, with Trump and his surrogates claiming that the president had been completely exonerated even though Mueller explicitly did not make this judgment. They then accused the media and Democrats of corruptly conspiring to bring down the president.
But it is the next part of the administration’s response, phase three, which is so uniquely Trumpian. The president has frequently managed to survive scandals that might have felled other politicians because he is so adept at changing the conversation by sparking a new furor, which eclipses the old one. The result has been a presidency of serial scandals which can easily induce a sense of numbness in his opponents, while making himself appear invulnerable to any particular one of the hundreds of controversies encircling him.
Since the release of the Barr report, Trump has attempted to change the topic in two ways.
1) The first is on healthcare. Last Monday, the Trump administration filed a letter in a Texas court declaring that it would like to see the entirety of the Affordable Care Act – also known as Obamacare – declared unconstitutional. Backing a wacky legal challenge that has been levied against the ACA, the administration is advocating stripping healthcare benefits from tens of millions of Americans with no plan for how to provide them with alternative coverage. Although the move is a sure political loser for Republicans, Trump charged ahead anyway.
2) Second, Trump has stepped up his anti-immigrant rhetoric and threatened to close the US border with Mexico.

Quote:Trump's self-destructive measures the last two weeks on healthcare and immigration demonstrate that what Trump is really after is headlines, not solutions. The fact that the president is so keen to change the subject now ought to make Democrats think twice about going along with his wishes. Instead, they need to stay focused on obtaining a full copy of the Mueller report and making its contents known to the public.

The president and his allies have engaged in a sinister and baffling pattern of behavior designed to hide their own connections to a foreign power. All we know so far is that Mueller was not able to prove that they criminally colluded with Russia, and that he was unable to exonerate the president of criminally obstructing the inquiry. Before we can move on, we need to know much more.
This is about returning a bare modicum of accountability to American public life after years of congressional Republicans shirking their constitutional duty to hold Trump to account. It is about finding out exactly how American national security was compromised in 2016, and why Trump and his surrogates are so keen to pretend it wasn’t.
Perhaps that’s why Barr won’t just release the report, and Trump wants to change the subject. Democrats shouldn’t let him.

Maybe somebody should ask Rep. Jim Jordan,
R-Ohio, 4th District Lima, Marion, Elyria,
if Trump is correct about wind power causing cancer.
I believe Trump's cancer scare is to distract attention from the Mueller Investigation.
Trump Says Wind Turbine Noise Causes Cancer. (It Does Not.) A power source that does cause many health problems, including cancer, is coal, an extremely dirty fuel Trump loves and has attempted to bolster, with almost no success.

My hearing used to be phenomenal but I lost it so gradually and so early that I just laugh about being deaf. But the one constant sign of health was my low blood pressure. Then one day - overnight - it skyrocketed to stroke territory and I've been struggling even with medication to keep it down. That truly rocked me. To my core I felt vulnerable and unsafe, because I was.
But there may be some other side effect to 'smile' they don't know about yet. Here's an example: I was looking into turbinate (nose) surgery to relieve my constantly stuffed up nose. And I ran across a rare side effect called 'empty nose syndrome'. It's SO VERY distressing to the people who have it many commit suicide (at least one after murdering their surgeon). It apparently FEELS like your nose is constantly, unrelievedly, completely stuffed up even though, mechanically, you can breathe just fine.
(I thought about that and realized that even though we're not aware of it on a conscious level, we can actually feel air moving through our nose as we breathe. Generally when they do turbinate surgery they work on the lowest one of three because it's the biggest and the furthest away from your olfactory organ and your cribiform plate, which separates your brain from your nasal cavity. Anyway, when they open up the lowest turbinate completely, since the air is flowing smoothly through - laminar instead of turbulent - you can't sense the flow since air isn't impinging on any tissues. OTOH since your upper two turbinates are still swollen, you can feel the pressure. So it feels like your nose is stuffed up and no air is going through. The answer might be to have people suck menthol lozenges, since the menthol causes a cooling feeling as the air goes by. That might help people FEEL that they're breathing.)

The April 2 deadline for turning the Mueller Report over to Congress has passed.
There was never any reason to give the Justice Department ten days, since they’re demanding an unredacted version. I suppose that’s water under the bridge, but what’s the excuse for delaying even longer now that their deadline is up? Bill Barr is not going to change his mind and he’s not going to “reach an accommodation.” That’s not what the Trump administration does. So just issue the subpoena and then go to court. It’s where we’ll end up eventually anyway. Why put it off?

But Trump continued to make the claim today, on Wednesday, April 3rd.
“We’re under audit despite what people said, and we’re working that out as I’m always under audit it seems. But I’ve been under audit for many years because the numbers are big and I guess when you have a name, you’re audited,” Trump said at a White House meeting with U.S. military leaders.
“But until such time as I’m not under audit, I would not be inclined to do that,” he said in response to a reporter’s question about the committee’s request for Trump's tax returns.
The U.S. House Ways and Means Committee asked the Internal Revenue Service for six years of President Donald Trump’s personal and business tax returns on Wednesday, in a long-awaited move that is widely expected to lead to a lengthy court battle with the Trump administration.
All 6 years are under audit continuously forever, if Trump can be believed.

Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated, according to government officials and others familiar with their simmering frustrations.

Gee, I wonder why Attorney General Barr didn’t like the Mueller team’s own summary of their work. It would have been quick and easy to release, and presumably it would have been a very accurate precis of what the full report says.
Some members of the Special Prosecutor's office were particularly disappointed that Barr did not release summary information the special counsel team had prepared, according to two people familiar with their reactions. “There was immediate displeasure from the team when they saw how the attorney general had characterized their work instead,” according one U.S. official briefed on the matter.
Summaries were prepared for different sections of the report, with a view that they could made public, the official said. The report was prepared “so that the front matter from each section could have been released immediately — or very quickly,” the official said. “It was done in a way that minimum redactions, if any, would have been necessary, and the work would have spoken for itself.”
Mueller’s team assumed the information was going to be made available to the public, the official said, “and so they prepared their summaries to be shared in their own words — and not in the attorney general’s summary of their work, as turned out to be the case.”

2. "Stop the global wars!" Who's gonna have a problem with that? Who doesn't want that? No one on the planet would want that. Not even Trump. Ok, so Trump does want that - see: increase in military spending. See: Trump not doing a single thing to reduce military footprint in the world. Start Hillary! WarHawk! BS in 3... 2... 1...

Mueller’s Team Gathered ‘Alarming’ Trump Obstruction Evidence: Washington Post
https://www.thedailybeast.com/muellers-team-gathered-alarming-trump-ob
struction-evidence-washington-post
The Washington Post has backed up the New York Times report from late Wednesday that some members of Robert Mueller’s team have said the special counsel report is much worse for the president than was suggested by Attorney General William Barr. In its report, the Post goes a step further, claiming some members of Mueller’s team have complained to close associates that they gathered “alarming and significant” evidence of obstruction by President Trump. “It was much more acute than Barr suggested,” one source is reported to have said.
In his summary, Barr said that the special counsel did not establish evidence for a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, and said that Mueller didn’t conclude “one way or the other” as to whether Trump’s conduct in office constituted obstruction of justice. Barr also said that he concluded the evidence was not sufficient to prove obstruction. “There was immediate displeasure from the team when they saw how the attorney general had characterized their work,” said one official. Summaries were reportedly prepared for different sections of the report, which Mueller’s team thought could be released immediately without redaction.

House Democrats explain why it’s taken 3 months to authorize subpoenas into Trump
House Democrats say they gave the White House many chances to comply with their requests voluntarily. But the Trump administration has clearly been reluctant to turn over anything — whether officials for testimony, or key documents — something Democrats are calling a clear attempt to stonewall major investigations into the president, his administration, his businesses, and his family.
House Democrats continue waiting on key documents from the Trump administration on what went wrong in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria; they’re waiting on testimonies from White officials about security clearances; they’re waiting on more information about Trump’s national emergency declaration on the southern border. The list goes on.
Tired of Trump's stalling, House Democrats finally authorized subpoenas this week to get the full Mueller report. They got serious about requesting Trump’s tax returns. They issued four subpoenas related to the White House security clearance process and the administration’s effort to put a citizenship question on the census.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who sits on the House Oversight committee, said that it’s important that House Democrats work is perceived as Congress’ constitutional duty, and not just an attempt to “score partisan points on the president.”

SECONDRATE: Stick it up your ass. That's where all your posts come from anyway.
There were three things I was hoping Trump would accomplish, because I believe they're extremely important and rbecause they're in any President's purview of foreign policy:
1) Kill TPP and TTIP. DONE. Those would have given up our sovereignty to trade tribunals. Also, it would be nice to extricate ourselves from NAFTA, CAFTA, and other "free trade" agreements.
2) Reverse illegal immigration. IN PROCESS.
3) End our endless wars. FAILURE.
http://fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=61953&p=3
*I'm going to judge Trump's performance on the three things, and ONLY the three things, that I voted for:
1) Ending our pointless wars and making nice with Russia and everybody else. That means reining in the CIA and the State Dept and their endless "interventionism" abroad. And good luck with THAT, Donald!
2) Backing out of the "free trade" agreements that we seem to have negotiated in favor of the transnationals. The only trade agreement that I might be willing to let stand is the WTO ... and maybe not even that.
3) Getting rid of illegal immigration.
http://fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=60986
There are more, even dating back to before the election. I leave it to you to find the reast.
I've been EXTREMELY CLEAR and very concise about my expectations. I've explained them to you, ad nauseum. Why should I explain them again? You're either really really stupid (incapable of learning) or your're so consumed by the voices in your head that there's no place for reality.

Quote:Very good, Signym. Your three points are too long for a tweet, so Trump won't be reading them. None of your points require the President to go along. All of your points require the Congress to agree with Signym. If you don't like Wars, get the Congress to return to the good old days of 1941 when FDR could not go to war until Congress declared War. Congress has been ignoring that for the last 78 years. And while Congress is at it, they could place a leash around the CIA's neck, rather than let those pit bulls bite whoever the CIA and White House pleases.

And the most obvious, if Congress doesn't want trade deals, the President can't force a deal. Voting for Trump was not necessary to your side, Signym, but Congress is. What you need, Signym, is to get 26 of 50 States on your side. Getting the President to agree with you will get you almost nothing as Trump has demonstrated over and over. The President is not all powerful, except in tasks that can be completed in a week, such as nuking the entire world or shutting down all flights of the Boeing 737 Max.
It is Congress that is all powerful (including the power to remove Presidents and Judges), not the President, but it is very difficult to get 26 States to decide anything, which often leaves what little gets decided to the President.

WSJ op-ed (font and format approximates original)
Trolling the Mueller Report
Democrats lost on collusion. Now they’re inventing a coverup.
Democrats are still reeling from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusion that the Trump campaign did not collude with Russians in 2016. But they’ve now hit upon a political comeback strategy: Accuse Attorney General William Barr of a coverup.
That’s the context for Wednesday’s decision by House Democrats to authorize subpoenas, on a partisan vote, demanding that Mr. Barr immediately hand over the entire Mueller report and its supporting evidence. This is intended to give the impression, abetted by a press corps that was fully invested in the collusion story, that Mr. Barr is somehow lying about Mr. Mueller’s real conclusions.
That’s preposterous, since Mr. Barr’s four-page letter quotes directly from Mr. Mueller’s report. The AG surely understood on releasing the summary of conclusions last week that he would be open to contradiction by Mr. Mueller if he took such liberties. Mr. Barr also knew he’d be called to testify before Congress once the rest of the report is released.
Mr. Barr has committed to releasing as much of the report as possible subject to Justice Department rules. He’s working with the special counsel’s office to make redactions required by grand-jury rules of secrecy, intelligence sources and methods, ongoing investigations, and “the personal privacy and reputational interests of peripheral third parties.”
Under Justice rules relating to special counsels, Mr. Barr has no obligation to provide anything beyond notifying Congress when an investigation has started or concluded, and whether the AG overruled a special counsel’s decisions. Mr. Barr’s notice to Congress that Mr. Mueller had completed his investigation said Mr. Mueller was not overruled.
Congress has no automatic right to more. The final subparagraph of DOJ’s rule governing special counsels reads: “The regulations in this part are not intended to, do not, and may not be relied upon to create any rights, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or equity, by any person or entity, in any matter, civil, criminal or administrative.”
Mr. Barr has made clear that he appreciates the public interest in seeing as much of Mr. Mueller’s report as possible. Yet his categories of information for review aren’t frivolous or political inventions. The law protecting grand-jury secrecy is especially strict, as even Democrats admit.
House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff recently tweeted that “Barr should seek court approval (just like in Watergate) to allow the release of grand jury material. Redactions are unacceptable.” This is an acknowledgment that the government must apply to a judge for permission to disclose grand-jury proceedings.
A judge can grant release in certain circumstances—namely to government attorneys who need the information for their duties. None of the secrecy exceptions permit disclosure to Congress or the public. The purpose of this secrecy is to protect the innocent and encourage candor in grand-jury testimony.
It’s true that in 1974 the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a federal judge’s decision to release a grand jury report to the House Judiciary Committee that was investigating Watergate. Such a sealed report—which juries can choose to produce—is different from raw grand-jury testimony, which is what Democrats are demanding now. The Supreme Court has never ruled on such a disclosure, so Democrats could be facing a long legal battle if Mr. Barr resists their subpoenas.
Mr. Barr should release as much of the report as possible, and on close calls he should side with public disclosure. But no one should think that Democrats are really worried about a coverup. They want to see an unredacted version before the public does so they can leak selected bits that allow them to use friendly media outlets to claim there really was collusion, or to tarnish Trump officials.

It was amazing to watch the reaction to The Barr Letter. Here was an attorney general who got the job after he wrote a 19-page memo cross-examining the Mueller probe, particularly on the question of obstruction of justice, releasing a four-page summary of a two-year investigation that dismissed obstruction along the same lines he had before he'd seen any of the non-public evidence. Barr was also involved in sweeping a previous Republican presidential scandal under the rug, as he was George H.W. Bush's attorney general when that president opted to pardon everybody involved in Iran-Contra before they could start testifying about how deep that scandal went into the Reagan and Bush administrations.

Report: Mueller investigators wrote summaries they assumed would be made public

te-summaries-assumed-made-public
When Special Counsel Robert Mueller submitted his report on Russian interference in the 2016 election and the possibility of President Trump obstructing justice, it was prepared so every section had its own summary, with the belief each would be made available to the public, a U.S. official familiar with the matter told The Washington Post.
With that in mind, some members of the Mueller team have told associates they are frustrated with Attorney General William Barr sending a four-page letter to Congress that summarized the report in his own words. "There was immediate displeasure from the team when they saw how the attorney general had characterized their work instead," the official told the Post, adding that Mueller's office prepared their summaries in "a way that minimum redactions, if any, would have been necessary, and the work would have spoken for itself."

He also has tried to reverse coal's misfortunes of closing coal burning power plants. He is failing. Trump retreated from his own policy yesterday, announcing that he’d decided not to close the border.
Trump, during a brief Q&A with reporters yesterday, he suggested that his threats forced Mexico to make significant changes, which made it possible for him to walk away from his gambit.
“Well, you know, Mexico has been – Mexico has been doing a very good job the last three or four days – since we talked about closing the border, which is very real. […]
“And I will say this: that Mexico, in the last four days, has really done a great job on their southern border…. And if you take a look, you’ll see a big difference.”
The president made related comments on Tuesday, boasting that Mexican officials improved their apprehension policies “as of yesterday.”
The Washington Post reported this morning that, Trump’s rhetoric notwithstanding, “Mexican authorities have said they have not altered their enforcement policies.”
Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard told reporters he doesn’t know why the American president suddenly began praising Mexican policies.

The Crazed and Dishonest Washington Post again purposely got it wrong. Mexico, for the first time in decades, is meaningfully apprehending illegals at THEIR Southern Border, before the long march up to the U.S. This is great and the way it should be. The big flow will stop.......
6:04 AM - 5 Apr 2019
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1114151754722156544
....However, if for any reason Mexico stops apprehending and bringing the illegals back to where they came from, the U.S. will be forced to Tariff at 25% all cars made in Mexico and shipped over the Border to us. If that doesn’t work, which it will, I will close the Border.......
6:11 AM - 5 Apr 2019
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1114153614216441856
....This will supersede USMCA. Likewise I am looking at an economic penalty for the 500 Billion Dollars in illegal DRUGS that are shipped and smuggled through Mexico and across our Southern Border. Over 100,00 Americans die each year, sooo many families destroyed!

In any family, a 72-year-old man who spoke this way would be the subject of urgent discussions. Trump's trouble accessing words, summoning long-term memories, and naming a famous man in front of him could indicate mental deterioration. Add the crazy talk about windmills and cancer, coming from the leader of the free world, and you get a situation that ought to alarm everyone. This situation is complicated by Trump's long and deep record of lying to suit his purpose.
Call Mueller. He can look into Trump's head. But before that Mueller could read to us some excerpts from his most recent report, bypassing Barr.

Speaking of spouting nonsense, that's what you've been doing nonstop since you developed Trump Derangement Syndrome. Take, for exaple, your last post. The "Mueller investigation" that you call for is beyond Mueller's remit. So, no, Mueller CANNOT "look into Trump's head" because
1) Legally he's not empowered to do so, and
2) Professionally that would be beyond his expertise anyway, and Mueller's opinion would be irrelevant, at best.
Maybe if you'd stop attacking on all fronts and ... oh yeah, lying ... and stop responding to the voice in your head but actually be cognizant of WHAT OTHER PEOPLE POST ... we could have an actual discussion.

Luckily the 25th Amendment was designed for the case when Trump goes funny in the head. None of the decision makers need be doctors or Muellers: Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Barr's legacy on the line as Mueller team fumes
Legal experts and lawmakers say the attorney general is mishandling the special counsel's report.
www.politico.com/story/2019/04/04/barr-legacy-mueller-report-1256871
Members of Congress are even asking whether Barr himself has broken the law, saying his characterization of the Mueller probe allowed Trump and his allies to build a public narrative clearing the president of any wrongdoing — by Barr withholding the proof. Barr could find himself in trouble if the release of the Mueller report shows that his March 24 letter was materially misleading or contained material omissions. Prosecutors who wrote the Mueller report said Barr did mislead and omit.

This is just speculation on my part, but this is SECOND's story, as I imagine it: SECOND was raised a Jehovah's Witness. They may be a cult, but one thing they have is a strong moral code. Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in war and they don't believe in our government.
So, how did SECOND wind up in Vietnam?
Somebody - Nixon, a Republican - broke SECOND's first religion and somehow convinced SECOND that Vietnam was an honorable endeavor. SECOND believed him, and that became his alternate religion. But Vietnam wasn't honorable, and SECOND's second, alternate religion also broke, leaving SECOND permanently angry at Republicans, who not only stole him from his childhood community but who also betrayed his trust and left him broken in body and spirit.
SECOND's third religion is greed. It is also not honorable, and SECOND is angry at everyone who allows him to be the way he is, and he conflates "those people" with Republicans.
SECOND can't allow himself to acknowledge who he is and what he's doing because his childhood religion still speaks to him. He can't forgive himself for having made mistakes, he can't admit that he was fooled, and he can't go back to his first religion most likely because he was shunned, but also because it demands that he give up what he has. So he's living in a no-man's land, and hating everyone else for why he wound up the way he did.
But then, I could be saying that 2+2=22, which means I could be overdrawing connections from minimal data.

I had intended to take that story, expand it into 6 stories, and make it a launching pad for what happens after the movie. The comics and novels written since the movie have the Firefly story going around in circles. I want the story to have a clear destination when it ends: Earth. They don't get there in 6 stories covering the 100 days after the movie, but River is on her way. Everything River does for the next ten years is to keep the crew alive and together until the starships launch. She and Kaylee have a big role in that multi-million person expedition to Earth. In contrast, everything Mal does is just one damn thing after another, with no thinking ahead, no higher goal, and no long term plans other than survival. River does not let Mal know about the trip to Earth, until they are all going, because he is a screw-up. Charming guy but still you don't want him to know your plans. He might kill the wrong person. I think of Trump as another giant screw-up, but he is not charming like Mal. See "Donald Trump Doesn’t Know How to Negotiate"

It's amusing to me that I'm 100 times more the Clint Eastwood character than the "real" Clint is. And I didn't get multiple takes like Clint did to get the scene looking right. My life was the first take, then move on to the next scene, which I wrote because I'm the scriptwriter for my life. It seems somewhat weird to me too that with so many years of Hillary and Obama bashing and 2 years of Trump Lucifer as president, and control of both houses, that no charges have been brought for any of the *crimes* that you site. Less strange that you have never offered up a single reason explaining any of that. Why not? Did Trump get his philosophy of revenge from Clint Eastwood?
Trump once told his biographer Tim O’Brien that Eastwood was 'the greatest movie star.' He even tried to mimic the actor’s trademark squint.
More than anyone else, it was Clint Eastwood who put the Code of the West to rest, in an unmarked grave on Boot Hill, by normalizing vigilante violence. Eastwood tells a story about director Don Siegel, who asked John Wayne to plug a man in the back in 1976’s “The Shootist.” Although he occasionally played avengers, Wayne was old-school, and he snapped: “I don’t shoot people in the back!” Siegel replied: “Clint Eastwood would.” He was right. Eastwood would, and he did.
When President Trump slimed Omarosa Manigault Newman by calling her a “dog,” and then stripped former CIA Director John Brennan of his security clearance, he evoked not only Nixon’s infamous “enemies list,” but a score of revenge heroes who have demanded a pound of flesh in movies and TV shows.
Like Eastwood’s characters, Trump does not hesitate to shoot enemies and former friends in the back. He’s done it to Stephen Bannon and Michael Cohen, not to mention American allies such as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Quote:I will tell you a story about how Trump will never come to justice. A 2015 motorcycle gang firefight at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco Texas left nine dead and 20 wounded. Last week’s dismissal of misdemeanor riot charges against 24 remaining gang members marked the end of the massive criminal prosecution, without a single conviction. "Witch Hunt! Complete exoneration!" The only case to go to trial ended in a mistrial, and charges were dismissed. If these guys can get away with 9 murders in the daytime in front of hundreds of witnesses, I'm pretty sure Trump will get away. He might have a few years litigation, like the motorcycle gang, but nothing will come of it. This is American Justice in action.

Quote:Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Sunday that Democrats will "never" see President Trump's tax returns. Only yesterday, Trump withheld his tax returns because they were under audit. The IRS called that bullshit. Now, a new reason. Trump and Mulvaney are making as clear as possible that those tax returns have tax cheating within. Mulvaney said that since the tax cheater was elected, tax cheating must be okay with the voters. Not a real strong argument for the legality of tax cheating, but Trump uses what he's got. "By electing Trump, the voters gave him the power to pardon himself, therefore nothing Trump does could be illegal." - Mulvaney, next month on TV.

Texas doesn't require a permit, license, registration, or private sale background check for guns. It allows assault weapons, magazines, and unlimited magazine capacity. It has no restriction for either concealed or open long-gun carry. It's a stand your ground/ castle doctrine state.
Except for the person who fired the first shot, everyone else could have arguably been acting in self defense. And the person who fired the first shot could have been acting in a 'stand your ground' defense, because one person had their foot run over with a motorcycle.
There may have been no murder convictions because everyone was, arguably, within their legal rights.

Quote:That would imply that the only dependable justice in America is from the barrel of a gun. The court system cannot do it for motorcycle gangs, the GOP, or Trump. Take note that the cops are not being charged with murder. The cops gave instant justice, like the comic book character Judge Dredd. Too bad Robert Mueller never heard of Dredd. We might not be talking about Trump's "Complete Exoneration", but about his funeral.

In June 2018, with Jeff Sessions's job already known to be imperiled, Barr sent an unsolicited legal memo to the Justice Department and White House strongly criticizing the Mueller investigation and its impingement on the president's prerogatives.
Then a Washington corporate attorney -- but without knowledge of the internal work of the Russia probe -- Barr declared that "Mueller's obstruction theory is fatally misconceived" and based on "a novel and legally unsupportable reading of the law." He was Mister No Collusion, Complete Exoneration Barr long before he was Attorney General.
The memo only came to light in December after Trump had sacked Sessions and chosen Barr to replace him. Trump is a really funny guy.

It's amusing to me that I'm 100 times more the Clint Eastwood character than the "real" Clint is. And I didn't get multiple takes like Clint did to get the scene looking right. My life was the first take, then move on to the next scene, which I wrote because I'm the scriptwriter for my life. The majority of people, being pushed around by bosses and debts and their own fearfulness or drunkenness, can't truthfully say that. Those people vote for Trump, if they are white.

One thing we can infer from Barr's summary of the Mueller Report is that Trump is not provably a criminal. At least in this one specific instance.
What more can we even ask of a sitting President?
Full Transparency:
The Secret Mueller Report completely clears the President and utterly discredits his critics in the media and the Democratic Party. The same is true of the President's tax returns.
Also the Republican Party will fight tooth and nail to keep the Report and the tax returns from ever being released.

After the report went to Barr, Mueller’s team outlined an extensive pattern of troubling behavior from Trump that raised obstruction concerns, but that Barr concluded there was no one incident that qualified as “slam dunk” obstruction of justice. And in fact, legal experts have disagreed on the strength of the publicly known evidence — some said the case was already damning, while others said it wasn’t quite there.
There could be other reasons for the disagreement between Barr and Mueller's team; for instance, Barr could be taking an extremely generous view of Trump’s intent. We won’t know for sure until Mueller’s fuller report is released.
But to understand the increasingly contentious debate over whether the president obstructed justice, it’s worth reviewing what we already know Mueller investigated. From that, it’s easy to see how some prosecutors may have concluded there was an extremely obvious pattern of obstruction of justice from Trump — while others may have thought there was no one example strong enough to justify a charge.
1) Trump’s interactions with James Comey regarding “loyalty,” Michael Flynn, and the Russia probe
In the months before Trump fired James Comey, the then-FBI director documented a series of interactions with the new president:
On February 14, 2017, the day after National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigned, Comey attended a briefing at the White House. When it was over, Trump made clear he wanted everyone but Comey to leave. According to Comey’s memos, Trump said he wanted to “talk about Mike Flynn,” and said, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go.” Comey interpreted Trump to be referring to an FBI investigation into whether Flynn made false statements about his contacts with the Russian ambassador.
On March 30, 2017, Trump called Comey. According to Comey’s memos, Trump complained about the FBI’s Russia investigation, calling it a cloud over his presidency, asking what could be done to lift the cloud.
On April 11, 2017, Trump called Comey. According to Comey’s memos, Trump complained about the Russia investigation and the “cloud” again.
These efforts from Trump to get the FBI director to drop the Flynn investigation are legally problematic.
