Greetings gunrunners -

Just an aside here. Decoy has spend most of the night and so far all of today at Tampa General Hospital with his father.

A combination of bad behavior on his folks part, and the accidental administration of a medicine he turned out to have an unknown allergy to.

Don't know what the outcome will be, but not to worry overly, his continued existance is not in question, just his comfort level.

He said I should go ahead and let y'all know.

Update -

They did an examination of Decoy's dad today and determined his pain is definitely not his heart. Which is good.

Tomorrow they are going in, again a simple procedure (I hope) to see if the acid reflux problem he has had is causing issues. Don't know when they will know anything for sure or when he gets to go home. He thinks he is going home tomorrow afternoon.

My bet is he's incorrect :-(

Hey Debs - Let Decoy know I'm praying REALLY hard. His dad sounds like mine - fiesty. But it's scary to hear the doctor say, "We don't know for sure yet, we need to do more tests." Buh-rother.

I've been quiet for good reasons rather than the usual this weekend. I had fun stuff going on - lefse baking Saturday morning, a party Saturday eening - even the Marscon con comm meeting wasn't as bad as I thought, hangover or no Time to catch up. See you all in a bit!

EDIT: By the way, SJ said it was okay to move Jayne around so I'm going to give that a shot while holding him to his notiion that Rowan is some manner of evil companion.

Decoy's Dad is home and doing OK, he has some new meds for the acid reflux and hopefully a better appreciation for stayin' off foods he has been taken off of. So he's going to be I hope!

That's good to know, actually, since the Xiang login I set up uses my Hotmail account that I haven't used in... well, a really long time, I guess, since they deactivated it. heh. I use the Yahoo! account primarily. Hopefully I can set it up so I can see that there's mail in the Hotmail account.

Nah - no worries Maniac. It's all good! We all know the RP has a life of its own, and I think Capn would agree with me. HEE! Me neither. I did find out over the weekend that I still know how to shoot a pretty good stick, though. Especially when teamed up with the really drunk brother-in-law of the host.

Woo hoo! Welcome back everyone! I've missed you all

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? mine was much more low key than it usually is cuz instead of having at least 6 guests in addition to our own 6 person familiy (10 if you count the dog and our 3 cats, who ate more turkey than I did), we only had my uncle visiting for a week from Holland. but we had a lot of fun and the food was great as always.

I edited my last post to clarify the description of Merz' jewelry. Suddenly it seems to be a tad more important than it used to be ...

To be even clearer - If you have ever seen the logo for Chevron (I think) Gas stations, that triangle thing done in shades of orange ~ the piece is lead crystal in that shape and three dimensional.

I know I said I was ready to write, but things have been a bit odd of late. I was going to go in and update things last night, but FFF.net wasn't playing well with others - or my computer was feeling stand-offish. I'm not entirely clear. At any rate, I'll get myself back into the swing here soon. Squee and I have had conversations about how we're going to progress, so it's all good.

Also, I wanted to ask the troupe if it would be okay if I used some of the early RP posts in a fan fic. Originally, Rowan was created to be a passenger in a fan fic that would tie together the two parts of my Zirondelle series. I would still like to use her for that, and some of the scenes like the Hera Cary, her approach to Serenity and such. With the exception of some mention of Rowan's sister and the cruise ship she's on, that's where the fan fic and the RP would separate. If anyone has a problem, let me know and I'll work on an alternate storyline.

Just a note to let you all know I'm still alive and struggling through the last week of classes. Almost done -- I should be back to the game full time by the weekend. Unfortunately, Maniac is right. As much as I hate doing so, I have to leave the RP

Hey folks, sorry I have been MIA ... the Thanksgiving thu Christmas time is always harrowing up here in Indy.

Good news is that Cathy got through both her surgeries with flying colors. The plastic surgeon even removed a fatty benign tumor that was pressing on a nerve bundle in her side. She is doing quite well and is healing up magnificently. Now to get through Christmas!

Squee: I truly know what you mean by RL issues. If there is anything I can do to help, just let me know. Even if it is just an ear to bend.

Damon will be in good hands with Debs {not sure about the Dee-Dee thing }, I assure you. I see no need to deviate from our intended course. Heh, you never know, your RL issues may get sussed out in a coupla months and you'll be rarin' to get back to some good-ole RPing! We all shall miss you terribly until then!

As to the duration of the Gunrunning RP, the first 'playing post' was on January 1st 2004 by ZachsMind as Wash - we got our Year old anniversary comin' up folks!

Inaraesque : Would you like to pick up River until we get a response to a casting call?

Channain : Segue to - Yes, me dear - feel free to post a casting call to any RPers who may be interested. Let us see: River, Kaylee, Corvair, Jonas Hexx {an attempt to flush Humble outta hiding}.

Merz : You might check with the Oberon RPers and see if any would like to try their hand here on the Gunrunners RP. Meebe even CrazyHorse would be interested in picking up a character until we git to New Hokkaido.

As to the casting call, I need a vague snippet about Corvair and Jonas Hexx, aside from established characters. I know Corvair has to do with Merz, and Jonas is a bounty hunter (?) but the rest is a tad fuzzy. Anything anyone would like to send to me on e-mail would be grand.

Ooooh, very good to see you back!

Step one is send character data, info, etc. to me I guess and let me look it over, and run it by the DireKtors.

Step two, well, the best place for us to take on a new character is at the next stop, New Hokkaido. We have another character there, who has written a NICE introduction and is pending our arrival. Once you get a go ahead you can do the same, place yourself on New Hokkaido.

We can coordinate the rest closer to when it will happen. It will be a bit before we get there, so please be patient with us - but no reason why you cannot post from New Hokkaido for your character as we all pull closer together They do it in movies all the time.

We will get there. In the mean time I guess I need to put something sorta relatively official together about New Hokkhido and post it on your lovely new thread.

Well, I will see what I can come up with, look for it as soon as inspiration strikes. (Yeah, yeah I know. I will try to be swift.)

For all three of you, Crazy Horse, Cobb and Puma - feel free to play around with your characters, interact them with each other, whatever. You can't kill each other off and it might be nice if you are NOT in jail when we arrive. Remember that we will be attending a Pool Tornament - that being the reason we are staying on NH for a while after the gunrunning instead of leaving right away. Might be something in that... (I am sure there will be bookie action on that front.)

If I get a nice description done - we may start you a thread to play in ... not just the OOC ...

I was wondering if I am confusing anyone with the minor introductions to our story that I am introducing... i.e. the crystal. If so, good. And is it too weird? I have very concrete ideas where I want that to go, but I want to some feedback as to whether or not you all think this is a good way to go. I don't want to give too much away, because I love the idea of making surprises for everyone to read, but does it sound like I am going the wrong way?

Smeagelle has news, yes she does!

Smeagelle has been busy, very busy last few days. Has found someone who is reading us, yes this week to see if willing to be Acktor for Kaylee person.

Has spoken to CrazyHorse who may wish to try hand at being Acktor for River too as well as new charactor.

Is slowly working on description-in-depht ... deapth ... ok then ~ deep description for New Hokkaido. At this point we have at least four people there and it's time they began to interact, possibly with each other.

So when Smeagelle has description ready will start thread for them to play in as you all get closer together.

Paging Nicco, Hawk, Shan and ... new person, you know who you are - Smeagelle is still working on you too ... have to introduce you to directorial team. Your OOC green room is already prepared nicely, by Pumaman. Thanks Quentin!

Smeagelle will have stage set shortly, if can find props ...

It is almost magic time.

Not weird at all, very in-keeping with the mystery that is Book. All I did was mention a few things about Rowan's past (Xiang, The Revolution) and next thing I know *FOOMP* There's a whole spin-off planned. Never know what's gonna happen when you go and get creative in here.

This place looks familiar...

Hi guys! It looks like I wandering along Squee's path. Not so much that RL is taking over - truly, I would love a RL =) and I'm working more on face-to-face meetings these days; even a Farscape meetup (cause there is no Firefly meetup in this blasted town). And I've got me a pen-and-paper RP going on Sundays. The funny thing is, I keep thinking of RP like we do it here: Much improv, and slightly less getting hit with pool cues (and swords). That doesn't stop me from using what I learned here to enrich the game.

And now I'm leaving for many weeks over the Christmas break. Though I won't be around here, I still wish you all great times.

Just when I think the RP has seen its pinnacle, one of you guys comes back and reminds me why I keep coming back here.

Maniac in particular - I could so SEE that scene with Book and Mal. Entirely typical that Mal would doze off just as Book is about to do his big revelation - that was good HIGH-larity.

BTW, I don't know how much you would have Book refer to the Word, but I have been made aware of a couple of Bible passages lately that sound very Book-like. I jot them down for my own use in fan fic, but if you're interested, I can pass them on. I even have a New Language Translation that sounds more Firefly-like, less King James. Let me know.

Well, I intend to soldier on - I don't believe we are dead yet ... I am still waiting to hear from alternates for Kaylee and River, I am NOT willing to cast for Jayne yet until I get something concrete from St. J. Damon is covered. I think that is all, most of the rest is just the time of year and that is understandable.

My best suggestion is to go on, post as the spirit moves you, and we will deal as we must.
