Just because Trump repeatedly called the Mueller investigation a "witch hunt" doesn't mean that he was worried about the Russians, or even that he was worried about what someone might find concerning collusion*. Being maliciously prosecuted would be enough to get anyone pissed off, ESPECIALLY if you know that you're innocent, and ESPECIALLY if you know that this politically-based prosecution will have real-life political consequences.

You're either stupid or you're lying when you keep insisting that Trump was worried about "the Russians". Given your history, I think you're just lying.

OK, here is the beginning part of my analysis of your linked article. I will try to clarify what the article garbles ...

The article says that the indictment says that there is a link between the spearphishing campaign which wormed its way into the DCCC and eventually the DNC computers, dcleaks, and guccifer2.0.

They claim that the connection between the spearphishing campaign using a Bitly account and the Malyasian VPN server which hosted the DCleaks.com account was an email used to establish both. Also, if I understand them correctly, both the Bitly account and the DCLeaks.com account were paid from the same cryptocurrency account. (If this was a Russian operation it seems awfully sloppy.) So the spearphising operation and DCleaks are linked, according to the indictment.

They then claim that the VPN account DCleaks logged into Guccifer2.0's Twitter account, proving (in their view) that Guccifer2.0 was linked to both DCLeaks and the spearphishing.

Now, comes the important part of the article ...

Quote:

“What isn’t mentioned in the indictment is that, on one occasion, someone reportedly logged into the @Guccifer_2 Twitter account without connecting to a VPN service first, revealing their real IP address ... “U.S. investigators [who?]identified Guccifer 2.0 as a particular GRU officer working out of the agency’s headquarters on Grizodubovoy Street in Moscow.”

So, the connection between Guccifer2.0 and Russia ISN'T in the indictment. At least, not so far.

But the article keep banging away at this PRESUMED connection as if were in the indictment, and real, instead of something that somebody "reported" once upon a time.

Signym, you don't have to protect Russia from false accusations of hacking. Mueller can't arrest GRU Intelligence officers for doing their job in Moscow. If they broke American laws, so what? Putin already said the GRU did no such thing, and that should satisfy you. But even if it does not, Putin won't extradite his employees to some Kangaroo Court prosecution by Mueller in America.

Signym, you don't have to protect Trump, either. Whatever he did is not illegal because the newly drafted Foreign Interference in American Elections Act of 2019 is not the law. The Republican controlled Senate will never pass that law. And finally, Trump won't sign such a law. It would require candidates or campaign aides to refuse assistance from any foreign government and to tell the FBI about such offers within 72 hours of being contacted. It would apply even to volunteers.

Aren't you a delicate soul, Signym. You mentioned Bush/Cheney's imaginary Iraqi WMDs justifying a real Iraqi Invasion, but I'm fairly sure that Trump is not planning a Russian invasion based on real Russian hacking. What would be Trump's justification? The Russians were simply doing their job of harassing their political enemy -- Hillary. Trump was the beneficiary, but that's not illegal for Trump to benefit because the "Foreign Interference in American Elections Act of 2019" was not law in 2016 and won't be in 2020. Signym, why make a big deal out of pretending the Russians didn't do what was done? That only encourages the Russians to more daring exploits. Nobody was hurt by the Russians except for Hillary's feelings.

Signym, you should be having doubts that Trump intends to negotiate "down the threat of Nuclear Armageddon with the only other nuclear superpower on the planet, if such can be arranged".

Why, you ask? Because:

Trump announced in October that he plans to “terminate” the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, raising concerns about the return of Cold War-style tensions over U.S. and Russian deployments of intermediate-range missiles in Europe and elsewhere.
www.armscontrol.org/act/2018-11/news/trump-withdraw-us-inf-treaty

The U.S. Department of Energy has started making a new, low-yield nuclear weapon designed to counter Russia. The National Nuclear Security Administration says production of the weapon, known as the W76-2, has begun at its Pantex Plant in the Texas Panhandle.
www.npr.org/2019/01/28/689510716/trump-administration-begins-productio
n-of-a-new-nuclear-weapon

Trump’s plan to expand America’s nuclear arsenal is encountering sharp opposition in the Democratic House of Representatives, with critics saying the administration is creating unnecessary risks to world peace—particularly by adding new tactical nuclear weapons that can be used in a conventional war. The debate is potentially set to come to a head in June, when the House will begin marking up the annual defense policy bill.

The clash comes at a pivotal moment for global arms control. The Trump administration is seriously considering dismantling at least one treaty with Russia that has set arms control policy for the past 30 years.

By "this" do you mean Trump's tweeting in 2016 that the United States “must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability”? That was not the deep state misinforming him. That was all Trump's feelings. Trump has a lust for nukes. He does not explain why. It is a mystery: https://foreignpolicy.com/2019/04/11/will-congress-let-trump-expand-am

There is another mystery at
www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/graham-challenges-kushners-bid-to-down
play-russia-interference/ar-BBWnrwk

Why do Trump and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey O. Graham get along well despite disagreeing over Russia hacking the Democrats?

“Can you imagine what we would be saying if the Russians or the Iranians hacked into the presidential team of the Republican Party?” Graham asked. “So, no — this is a big deal. It’s not just a few Facebook ads. They were very successful in pitting one American against the other during the 2016 campaign.”

Graham also argued that “an attack on one party should be an attack on all” and said he has spoken to Trump about imposing more sanctions on Moscow.

“They’re coming at us again, and I’d like to stop them, and one way to stop them is to make them pay a price,” Graham said, later adding: “The Russians are up to it again. . . . Everything we’ve done with the Russians is not working. We need more sanctions, not less.”

Trump, however, demonstrates a continued unwillingness to accept that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, even questioning his own intelligence community’s findings about Russian hacking. Multiple news outlets have reported that Trump believes such an assertion undercuts his victory.

Signym, there are stories about Trump and how nuts for nukes he is. More American nukes is always better:

We now have an idea what prompted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to call President Trump a "moron": NBC News is reporting that Trump had spoken openly in the preceding meeting with national security leaders about a return to a Cold War footing with nuclear weapons — what would amount to about a tenfold increase:

Trump’s comments, the officials said, came in response to a briefing slide he was shown that charted the steady reduction of U.S. nuclear weapons since the late 1960s. Trump indicated he wanted a bigger stockpile, not the bottom position on that downward-sloping curve.

According to the officials present, Trump’s advisers, among them the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, were surprised. Officials briefly explained the legal and practical impediments to a nuclear buildup and how the current military posture is stronger than it was at the height of the build-up. In interviews, they told NBC News that no such expansion is planned.

It was after this July 20 meeting that Tillerson reportedly offered his “moron” comment — something the State Department has pretty directly denied, even as Tillerson declined to do so personally.

Hearing the U.S. president promise last week to respond to any North Korean threats with “fire and fury like the world has never seen” was astounding — though perhaps it shouldn’t have been. Trump has been publicly discussing his vivid fears about nuclear weapons for decades, predating any serious talk of him running for president. These comments suggest that Trump thinks about nuclear annihilation far more than the average American — but he simultaneously has a particularly weak understanding of how the strategy surrounding it works. That’s created the frightening mix that was on display last week: It appears that Trump is well aware of the awesome threat posed by nuclear weapons, but he thinks it can be addressed like a problem in the board room (of a reality TV show). . . .

A month before Trump was inaugurated, Mother Jones looked at Trump’s many public remarks about nuclear war and noted that he’s often spoken as if he thinks nuclear war is inevitable. Here’s Trump in a 1990 Playboy interview:

I’ve always thought about the issue of nuclear war; it’s a very important element in my thought process. It’s the ultimate, the ultimate catastrophe, the biggest problem this world has, and nobody’s focusing on the nuts and bolts of it. It’s a little like sickness. People don’t believe they’re going to get sick until they do. Nobody wants to talk about it. I believe the greatest of all stupidities is people’s believing it will never happen, because everybody knows how destructive it will be, so nobody uses weapons. What bullshit.

This is a frightening thing to hear (Trump has admitted, “Look, I’m very much a fatalist”), but as the New York Daily News reports, over the years, he has actually laid out what he believes is the path to our salvation. Unsurprisingly, it involves Trump single-handedly saving humanity with his superior negotiation skills.

Signym, there can be no conversation because you are a Russian troll masquerading as an American. If you were a real American, your default position would not be to deny the belief shared by, for one big example, Senator Graham, Trump's good friend:
www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/graham-challenges-kushners-bid-to-down
play-russia-interference/ar-BBWnrwk

Trump denies Russian hacking because he is Trump. If there was hacking, he would feel like a smaller man who needed Russia's help to win. His victory margin was 80,000 votes spread across three states. Same dynamic with Trump and nukes. If Trump had fewer nukes, he would feel like a smaller man. That is why he is pushing for more bombs, despite the expense and danger:

Trump understands nothing about nukes, other than the flash and boom:

Are you melting down, Signym, because Trump is buying more nukes but says he wants what you want, fewer nukes? I see that Trump has the same coping mechanisms as you do when there are contradictions between beliefs, actions, and words flying out of mouths. There are dimwitted insults/falsehoods in this tweet from yesterday, but that never stops him or Signym:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Bob Mueller was a great HERO to the Radical Left Democrats. Now that the Mueller Report is finished, with a finding of NO COLLUSION & NO OBSTRUCTION (based on a review of Report by our highly respected A.G.), the Dems are going around saying, “Bob who, sorry, don’t know the man.”

Good to know that you figured out it was all a Witch Hunt. And you did it using only the power of your mind. (And maybe a little help from Trump, who is neutral and truthful.) And those Russians indicted by Mueller? Innocent of hacking until convicted.

CNN, the news source most hated by Trump, after the failing NYTimes and the Washington Post, has 77 Trump lies from the Mueller Report.

www.cnn.com/2019/04/30/politics/list-of-trump-falsehoods-mueller-repor
t/index.html

#77:

In an interview with The New York Times, Giuliani said that President Trump asserted that discussions about the Trump Tower Moscow project were "going on from the day I announced to the day I won." (Oh-uh!) Giuliani later issued a statement saying that his comments about Trump's knowledge of the Trump Tower Moscow project were "hypothetical and not based on conversations I had with the president."

What the report said:

"In an interview with The New York Times , Giuliani quoted the President as saying that the discussions regarding the Trump Moscow project were 'going on from the day I announced to the day I won.' On January 21, 2019, Giuliani issued a statement that said: "My recent statements about discussions during the 2016 campaign between Michael Cohen and candidate Donald Trump about a potential Trump Moscow ' project ' were hypothetical and not based on conversations I had with the president."

I had not realized that Mueller indicted Russians for hacking and he did not have enough proof to convince an impartial jury consisting of Trump, Putin and Signym. I apologize.

This morning Trump is in another rage against Mueller, Obama and Democrats.
It will be a very entertaining year as Trump loses his mind on twitter (He really went crazy about embargoing Cuba, which means US Navy ships surrounding the island, but that is a different Trump rant that happened today. By tomorrow the old fool will have forgotten what he wrote.):

1) Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

NO COLLUSION, NO OBSTRUCTION. Besides, how can you have Obstruction when not only was there No Collusion (by Trump), but the bad actions were done by the “other” side? The greatest con-job in the history of American Politics!

Agreed. These scumbags actually plan this shit out, but don't realize that there are good people out there that will "collar up" (as cops like to say).
In other words, they will get their man (or, in this case, their men and women).

Dems need to pull the trigger and impeach these bastards already...Barr included.

Signym, you are in error. I like the Mueller Report. It is Mueller who does not like the Mueller Report -- the fantasy version coming out of Barr's and Trump's mouths. The fantasy "No Obstruction, No Russians" version. Mueller wrote Barr a letter complaining about that fantasy version.

Despite Trump's, or Signym's, fantasy version of the Mueller report, Mueller's version did indict Russians working for Putin. It was not a witch hunt. And Mueller found obstruction, but he made it clear that Mueller was operating under DoJ rules forbidding indicting a President, but Trump can be charged once he is not President.

What Mueller found was Putin's GRU agents worked on Trump's campaign. Mueller indicted the Russians. On the other hand, Trump lied about the Russians helping him win. And both Trump's lawyer and campaign manager went to jail over just that point about Russians.

In a story about how difficult it was for Nasa to catch a liar and put him in jail: “It has taken a long time to get here, involving years of investigation and testing, but as of today, it has been worth every minute, and I am extremely pleased with the entire team’s efforts.”
http://spaceref.com/news/viewpr.html?pid=54006

It took NASA KSC, NASA OIG, and DOJ nearly a decade to figure out what went wrong - on missions worth $700,000,000 - and all that the responsible company has to pay is $46 million - 5% of the loss to taxpayers that they caused - after deliberately and systematically engaging in a "19 year scheme".
http://nasawatch.com/archives/2019/04/nasa-needs-a-de.html

The testing lab supervisor, Dennis Balius, got three years of jail time for his role. NASA uncovers a 19-year fraud that caused failed missions

The wheels of justice turn very slowly. Trump will probably be dead before he is crushed by the wheels.

Agreed. Barr lied on Trumps behalf several times under oath. Each time he did so is a felony. Having him remain Attorney General puts all the other 12-19 investigations involving Trump in jeopardy.

Add to that the Trump administration is stonewalling everything. Trumps administration needs to be hit with a barrage of subpoenas. Congress calling those involved in the Russian investigation to testify, both witnesses, Mueller and his team, is starting the impeachment process without declaring so.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

OK, so after two years of hard work and each party trying their best to make the other party look as bad as possible, it’s time to get back to business. The Mueller Report strongly stated that there was No Collusion with Russia (of course) and, in fact, they were rebuffed at every turn in attempts to gain access. But now Republicans and Democrats must come together for the good of the American people. No more costly & time consuming investigations. Lets do Immigration (Border), Infrastructure, much lower drug prices & much more - and do it now!

I understand the talk about Mueller not deciding on Trump obstruction. But he did decide, didn't he? If you're investigated for something, and you learn that the prosecutor is closing down without taking any action, you're happy, right?

Trump says he leaned on God to survive Mueller probe:

“People say, ‘How do you get through that whole stuff? How do you go through those witch hunts and everything else?’” Trump said at the White House during a National Day of Prayer service. He looked over to Vice President Mike Pence and shrugged. “We just do it, right?” the president continued. “And we think about God.”

Mueller asked (twice) that Barr correct his inaccurate summary of Mueller’s careful report. It’s a letter that Wired’s Garrett Graff, who wrote a book about Mueller, described thusly: “I’ve read just about every word Bob Mueller has ever said publicly or published. He’s written precisely one letter like the angry one he sent to Barr: It excoriated Scotland for letting the Pan Am 103 bomber out of prison.”

First and most obviously: Attorney General William P. Barr presented a plainly slanted prebuttal of the Mueller report and stood up for the president’s conduct and did so with a pugilistic swagger that almost dared opponents to take issue with him.

[Read the full, redacted Mueller report]
https://games-cdn.washingtonpost.com/notes/prod/default/documents/f5fe
536c-81bb-45be-86e5-a9fee9794664/note/a8d336ef-e98d-4a08-987d-b4c154b22700.pdf

Barr’s presentation was tendentious in both substance and form. In substance, his suggestion that President Trump’s anger and frustration at the probe was an indication that he lacked criminal intent to obstruct is wrong; if anything, Trump’s fury points in the direction of obstructive intent. And it must be troubling for the Justice Department and the FBI, which looked to Barr as an incoming guardian, to see him simply ignore the president’s assault on law enforcement over the life of the probe.

The style and form of Barr’s news conference was even more one-sided. Barr crescendoed repeatedly at his several declarations echoing the president’s mantra of “no collusion” (even using that legally meaningless term). And the most bizarre aspect of the entire performance was his sympathetic portrayal of the president’s overwrought state of mind, resembling every bit a personal defense attorney rather than the chief law enforcement officer of the United States.

The Russia Investigation Will Continue

There is still much to uncover — and America’s intelligence services will work to uncover it. For example, how did the Kremlin know where to aim its disinformation effort? How did it know which communities to target, in which counties and states? One can argue that the Russians had a better sense of where to deploy their resources than did the Clinton campaign.

Why did Trump and those around him consistently parrot Russian talking points? Why was the Trump campaign so intent on disregarding expert advice on Russian issues?

The Mueller report notes that while investigators couldn’t prove a conspiracy, some people nonetheless displayed conspiratorial behavior (destroying communications, engaging in a cover-up, and obstructing the work of investigators).

The FBI, which has the benefit of secret intelligence, is certainly aware that it has only scratched the surface of Russian activities in 2016. Cyberhacks, troll farms, and the use of WikiLeaks are hardly cutting-edge espionage tradecraft. The Russian efforts that have been revealed to date were poorly hidden and displayed little professional elegance.

Counterintelligence agencies must find it hard to believe the cupboard is already bare since, as Mueller pointed out, the Russians had a dedicated and extensive program to damage the U.S. polity. . . .

A number of commentators have focused on the bumbling nature of those in and around the Trump campaign, concluding that their ignorance and naïveté militate against their ability to engage in a conspiracy. This is a misunderstanding of how the espionage game works. Intelligence services recruit plenty of gullible people. The responsibility for recruiting, training, exploiting, and protecting a clandestine operation lies on the side of the professional intelligence service: The spy service must translate the target’s potential willingness into a productive and secure relationship; the professional intelligence officer must slowly manipulate the relationship in an increasingly conspiratorial and secret direction, then help rationalize it for the target. The Cold War was littered with Kremlin spies the West failed to uncover in a timely manner because Western agents assumed they were too obvious, absurd, drunk, dim-witted, or low-level. Naive and ignorant people can get in too deep when manipulated by professionals.

Trump’s new favorite network embraces Russian propaganda. One America News Network (OANN) has no qualms with playing the mouthpiece for Kremlin-hatched conspiracy theories. And one of its most loyal viewers lives in the White House.

There’s enormous value to Moscow in getting its fake news repeated by an American newscast, said former FBI agent Clint Watts, a research fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.

“It’s source laundering,” Watts said. “Then they can recirculate the story as an organic American story, and that could travel further than if it’s only on RT and Sputnik… The more places it shows up the more it looks like it’s not a single source origin story.”

There’s another benefit to the Kremlin in airing its disinformation on OANN. One of the channel’s most ardent and credulous viewers happens to be President of the United States.

“It's a great network,” Donald Trump said during a 2017 news conference.

Trump is definitely watching the network. Last month he tweeted an old conspiracy claim, discredited in 2017, that the U.K.’s signals intelligence agency helped President Obama spy on his campaign, after seeing a segment about it on OANN.

“WOW!,” the president wrote. “It is now just a question of time before the truth comes out, and when it does, it will be a beauty!”

It is easy to read Rudy Giuliani's mind and a Republican Senator's mind:

When asked on Sunday about Rudy Giuliani saying there was “nothing wrong” with the Trump campaign using Russian information, Republican Senate Judiciary Committee member Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) struggled to directly repudiate Giuliani’s comment.

During an interview on “Meet The Press,” Chuck Todd asked Kennedy if Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s lawyer, was wrong to make such a remark.

“I don’t know if he’s wrong or right,” Kennedy responded. “I don’t know what the law is.”

An exasperated Todd asked, “But ethically, should that be wrong?”

Former prosecutor explains why she would charge Trump

When I was a federal prosecutor, I once indicted and tried a man named Roberto Ortiz for trying to convince his ex-girlfriend to leave town for a few weeks so she could not testify against him at an upcoming trial for illegal firearms possession. Despite Ortiz's efforts, the ex-girlfriend did not leave town, and a trial jury convicted Ortiz on various charges including witness tampering.

Ortiz's obstructive conduct pales in comparison to President Donald Trump's prolonged campaign to torpedo the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 election. That is one reason why I signed a letter along with more than 400 other former federal prosecutors who said that if Trump were a private citizen they would have indicted him on obstruction of justice charges based on the evidence set forth in Mueller's report.

"Each of us believes," the letter states, "that the conduct of President Trump described in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report would, in the case of any other person not covered by the Office of Legal Counsel policy against indicting a sitting President, result in multiple felony charges for obstruction of justice."

The letter from former prosecutors has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with the law.

Not only is the evidence sufficient to justify a criminal charge against Trump; it's not a close call as obstruction cases go. In the report, Mueller lays out an entire menu of "potentially obstructive acts" (Vol. 2, Page 1) committed by Trump, including trying to convince FBI Director James Comey to drop the investigation of National Security Director Michael Flynn; firing Comey to try to derail the investigation; trying to curtail Mueller's investigation; trying to have White House Counsel Don McGahn instruct Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to remove Mueller; trying to convince McGahn to lie about the effort to remove Mueller; and trying to dissuade Paul Manafort, Flynn and others from providing information to Mueller.

It was perfectly predictable that Barr would protect Trump at all costs. Trump nominated Barr because Barr had sent an unsolicited 19-page memo to the president's lawyers arguing that the investigation into whether Trump obstructed justice in the Russia probe was "overly aggressive" and "fatally misconceived." Barr had prejudged Trump innocent before Barr became Trump's attorney general.

Little known fact: Barr pledged his support for Richard Nixon while attending a Roman Catholic elementary school.

(From Wikipedia)

Quote:

Vice News (stylized as VICE News) is Vice Media, Inc.'s current affairs channel, producing daily documentary essays and video through its website and YouTube channel. It promotes itself on its coverage of "under-reported stories".[1] Vice News was created in December 2013 and is based in New York City, though it has bureaus worldwide.

The rest of the article: It talks about a trend of digital media companies losing valuation in recent times. Although I don't see the reason why you cited this article in response to my post, it doesn't surprise me that you
would cherry-pick something that may, at first glance, be considered negative
unless, of course, someone takes the time to read the article in it's entirety. Still though, it was a "nice try."

I asterisked (*) below a section of the article that illustrates the main theme: namely that large media conglomerates paid "beaucoup" (bookoo) bucks for digital media outlets speculating that they would be worth a lot more in the future because of their potentially reaching millions of young people in
the know.

These tech-savvy digital media companies, it was once thought, would be the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg. Companies like Univision, Comcast and Disney spent hundreds of millions, and were willing to spend as much as billions to obtain these properties. They all lost money. Digital sites like Gawker, The Onion, Vox and Buzzfeed. But Disney did not lose money in the move it made in "writing off" their investment into Vice Media/Vice News, so don't worry your little head about them. Neither did Vice News and others. Vice Media co-founder Shane Smith is a billionaire, so "don't cry for me Argentina."

Just so people know how others fared (although it has nothing to do with why I posted Vice News' reading of The Mueller Report):

Mic: which raised more than $60 million, sold for less than $5 million late last year.
Mashable: which was valued at about $250 million in 2016, sold for less than $50 million in 2017.
Gawker Media, plus the Onion and other sites, just sold for a price that’s likely well below $50 million.

There's more, but that's all I have for now. Thanks for the cite. Enjoy the rest of the show.

Now, Disney says all of the money it put into Vice has been incinerated: In investor filings Wednesday, Disney said it no longer thinks it will ever get any return on the investment it made in Vice — a company that at one point was supposedly worth $5.7 billion.

Vice is still worth something, in some investors’ eyes. Last week, a group of lenders said they put a fresh round of $250 million into the company.

But Disney’s accounting decision is yet another example — perhaps the most stunning one — of the turnabout we’ve seen in digital media over the past few years. Investors have decided that high-flying publishers that once confidently explained that they’d created a new media paradigm are now worth very little ... or even less.

Here’s a partial roll call familiar to some of you:

*Mic, which raised more than $60 million, sold for less than $5 million late last year.
Mashable, which was valued at about $250 million in 2016, sold for less than $50 million in 2017.
The properties formerly known as Gawker Media, plus the Onion and other sites, just sold for a price that’s likely well below $50 million; Univision, the TV conglomerate which sold them off, had paid $135 million for the Gawker sites alone in 2016.*

We don’t (yet) know the value that Comcast, which put a collective $600 million into Vox Media (which owns this site), and BuzzFeed over the past few years, now thinks those two publishers are worth. But it’s a reasonable bet that Comcast thinks they are worth less than it thought in 2015.
All of those companies have different stories and different particulars. The through-line is that a few years ago, all of them were confident that they were going to shoot up in va

Richard Ben-Veniste, a former Watergate prosecutor, told The Independent that any effort to keep Mr Mueller from testifying is likely to fail.

“I think ultimately Robert Mueller will testify, and that the more the president and his attorney general seek to delay or derail Mueller’s public testimony the more of a political price it will pay in the court of public opinion where people will be asking the logical question: what is the president hiding?” Mr Ben-Veniste said.

He continued: “Why does he fear Mr Mueller’s testimony before a congressional committee that obviously has the ability to provide bipartisan questioning?”

Mr Trump, for his part, has oscillated on the issue, saying at times that he doesn’t know if Mr Mueller should testify, while at other times saying it is either a bad idea or a great idea.

Well, firstly, read Sigs' post. You may have been told that the long list of people who have been fired, resigned or jailed were all brought in by Trump, but that doesn't mean that it's true.

I do care. VERY MUCH.

As it turned out, the Democrat running against Trump is the very definition of a traitor you describe. I don't know when exactly the Democratic party became the cheerleader for big banks and multi-national corporations, but it happened right under everyone's noses.

There's a small group of Identitarian Socialists that got primaried in, in 2018, the face of which is AOC, but the solutions they're pedaling are even less popular and good for the country than the Establisment Democrats.

Your party is in chaos man, and it's liable to rip itself apart and splinter off into pieces. The Democratic party you once knew and loved is only an empty shell of what it was back in the 60's.

And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. 6ix, nobody has to buy Congress or the White House. They already sold themselves BEFORE they got into politics. Actually, they were sold before they were born, back in the days of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, when the voters kept electing the wealthy slave-owners to Congress and the Presidency. Voters had a high tolerance for slave-owners (exception for the owners that habitually tortured their slaves -- that could disqualify a politician with the voters). These crappy voters got the crappy government they deserved. That never stopped, even until today, although we no longer have the easy tattletale of slave-owner/not-slave-owner to sort out who should not be elected. But we do have a newer selection criteria: pays-taxes/cheats-on-taxes as a substitute for sorting candidates.

The government never, never, never had the equivalent of football referees to call a foul or penalty on illegal moves by Congress or the White House, so there is rampant cheating going on all the time in the game, cheating that can be seen by the audience, who are people like you and me. But the fun part is that half of the audience declares there is no cheating when it is a player from their side who just cheating in front of everybody in the world. The audience is worse, a more dishonest bunch of cheaters, than the players.

What government really needs is either referees that can instantly penalize the players or it needs an audience that will rush onto the playing field and penalize a cheater.

$153 million in Bill and Hillary Clinton speaking fees, documented
www.cnn.com/2016/02/05/politics/hillary-clinton-bill-clinton-paid-spee
ches/index.html

The former secretary of state testily responded to Sanders' charges.

"Time and time again, by innuendo, by insinuation, there is this attack that he is putting forth which really comes down to, you know, anybody who ever took donations or speaking fees from any interest group has to be bought. And I just absolutely reject that, senator, and I really don't think these kinds of attacks by insinuation are worthy of you. And enough is enough," Clinton said.

She then challenged him: "If you've got something to say, say it directly, but you will not find that I ever changed a view or a vote because of any donation I ever received."

Hillary did not change her views for $153 million because she and Trump were, when young, already very kind and considerate of the needs of the wealthy.

So what's the answer?

I never said that Trump didn't cheat his taxes, although I'm guessing that what he did with them is entirely legal according to the rule of law that has been written by crooked politicians over the years.

If broken down by the people under a microscope, seeing what the Rich are allowed to get away with by having Trumps mountains of paperwork available to pour through might enrage people... at least until another war is started to distract them.

I find it hilarious that when Obama's returns were released that they were a simple two sided form like the rest of us on a payroll have, as if that's the only money he made and the only taxes he paid. I'm assuming that if Hillary were voted in, we'd see something quite similar from her as well.

Think of it. I became President of the United States in one of the most hard fought and consequential elections in the history of our great nation. From long before I ever took office, I was under a sick & unlawful investigation concerning what has become known as the Russian Hoax. My campaign was being seriously spied upon by intel agencies and the Democrats. This never happened before in American history, and it all turned out to be a total scam, a Witch Hunt, that yielded No Collusion, No Obstruction. This must never be allowed to happen again!

Think of it. The Russia investigation was a legitimate investigation, with a legitimate basis, into how a hostile foreign power tried to interfere with and undermine our democracy. It was in the best interests of the nation—in the interests of all Americans, no matter who ...
... they voted for—that this investigation be allowed to proceed to its rightful conclusion, without improper attempts to obstruct it, if only so that we could all know what really happened and take steps to see that it never happens again. But because ...
... you are a malignant narcissist—a person with both narcissistic and antisocial personality disorders—you couldn’t view it that way. Instead of complying with your oath of office, and instead of taking stock of what was in the best interests of ...
... the nation whose Constitution and laws you swore to uphold, you viewed the matter purely in terms of your own ego: You viewed the investigation as casting doubt on what you perceive as your great election victory (in which your opponent garnered ...
... nearly three million more votes than you did), and so you took multiple steps to obstruct, and repeatedly lied about, the investigation from the outset. Even today, despite the well-founded assessments of the intelligence community, and despite the ...
... damning evidence laid out in the Mueller report, you refuse to take what the Russians did seriously. Instead, you continue to lie, calling the investigation a “hoax” and an “attempted coup,” and you didn’t even mention Russia’s ...
... conduct in your recent 90-minute conversation with Putin, the man who seeks to undermine our institutions. Put simply, you put your own perceptions of your self-interest above the national interest, which you seem unable to comprehend or respect. ...
... That is your greatest offense against the country, an offense that incorporates but vastly exceeds the statutory crimes you’ve committed. It is the ultimate high crime or misdemeanor under the Constitution, and under the Framers’ wise design, ...
... it is an offense for which you should pay with your office, regardless of whether you are ultimately brought to justice in the courts of law.

And despite working on this dry well of realtime counterintelligence for months, they decided to launch ANOTHER investigation into the very same matter after the election, this time with Mueller.

And yet, despite all of the cyber and humint resources at their disposal, they could come up with no evidence of collusion* during the campaign

And despite working on this dry well of realtime counterintelligence for months, they decided to launch ANOTHER investigation into the very same matter after the election, this time with Mueller.

Again, they came up with nothing.

But crazed people are still beating this dead hoax.

Meanwhile, Barr is launching an investigation into the investigation.

I hope he burns all those anti-democracy deep-state traitors. That would be ONE good outcome of that clusterfuck!

Meanwhile, I'm a lot more worried about Trump's neocon foreign policy than I am about this nonsense, or his tax returns, and you should be too.

Judge orders public release of what Michael Flynn said in call to Russian ambassador

A federal judge on Thursday ordered that prosecutors make public a transcript of a phone call that former national security adviser Michael Flynn tried hard to hide with a lie: his conversation with a Russian ambassador in late 2016.

U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan in Washington ordered the government also to provide a public transcript of a November 2017 voice mail involving Flynn. In that sensitive call, President Trump’s attorney left a message for Flynn’s attorney reminding him of the president’s fondness for Flynn at a time when Flynn was considering cooperating with federal investigators.

In one of the unredacted filings released Thursday, prosecutors said Flynn described multiple episodes in which “he or his attorneys received communications from persons connected to the Administration or Congress that could have affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation.”

In addition to the transcripts, it also is possible that the judge may release the audio recordings of the conversations. In his Thursday order, Sullivan directed that the government provide a copy of those recordings to him in his chambers, along with any other calls Flynn made to the Russians, so he can review them.

Do let me know what was in those million dollar speeches that Hillary gave to the likes of Goldman Sachs, will you?

She got more money than Trump and a million times smarter. Hell, she got dead brain cells that have more life than that idiot.

How does the wife of an ex-president come upon 10 times the campaign funds for her election bid than a business tycoon?

Beats the fuck outta me. Of course, she didn't have the Russian hockey team in her corner. Now that was a "smart" treasonous move on Donnie's part.

I don't remember reading about her Billion Dollar grass-roots kickstarter campaign funded by small donors.

Ya got me there, cause neither have I. (that's one point for the Trump cult).

This was fun. Let's do it again soon.
