All the snow is gone but more along with rain heading for my area tomorrow.

Raining like hell around here the last day or two. Turning into snow tonight. Should melt in a few days though.
Just ordered more trim. Quite a bit into it now, but I figured since I'm already taking it this far I might as well put a little more money and work into it and tear out all the old crap and bring the entire house up to my standards. The cuts down there will be extremely easy compared to some of the stuff I've had to do upstairs. I'm even thinking about refinishing the living room floor in the spring since I'm already pulling up all the baseboard and upgrading all the windows. That will make beautiful restored hardwood floors throughout the house, then all I'll have to do is figure out what I'm going to do for the floor in the porch and the kitchen when I remodel it. We'll see how money is at that point. Shouldn't cost me more than about $350 for stain, poly and equipment rental though.

Snowed last night then turned into rain. Still snow on the ground today but didn't get a whole lot.

Hey all! ... just saying hey.
And fwiw I have a doozy of a cough. It's been incubating for a week, when I woke up with red, gummy eyes. I cough so much, so hard, I have a nasty headache. My trachea and bronchi hurt. And I have an earache and stuffy nose on top of it all.
I think I'm going to go back to bed.

Wherever possible there must be independent confirmation of the facts.
Encourage substantive debate on the evidence by knowledgeable proponents of all points of view.
Arguments from authority carry little weight (in science there are no "authorities").
Spin more than one hypothesis - don't simply run with the first idea that caught your fancy.
Try not to get overly attached to a hypothesis just because it's yours.
Quantify, wherever possible.
If there is a chain of argument every link in the chain must work.
Occam's razor - if there are two hypotheses that explain the data equally well choose the simpler.
Ask whether the hypothesis can, at least in principle, be falsified (shown to be false by some unambiguous test). In other words, it is testable? Can others duplicate the experiment and get the same result?

You post a long post kiki, someone responds, you repost it. Sometimes over and over. That's not having a discussion. That's trolling and you do it all the time. You and sig also post shit a mile long that nobody is going to read. My idea is that you guys post that shit here. I don't see you two doing that in your own threads comrade.

Got all of my trim picked up for the entire house. That's going to be a lot of work when I get to it all, but I'm looking forward to it.
I'm hoping I don't have to replace my fridge. It started really acting up a week ago. The freezer had a layer of frost on everything that started to grow. Just yesterday I noticed that the fridge wasn't that cold. So far, it looks like it's because the holes got plugged up with ice over the years... at least I hope that's all that happened and it wasn't an immediate thing that started when something broke on it.
Been de-thawing it all day today since I got back from running all my errands. My dumb ass just bought a week's worth of groceries too. At least it should be cold enough outside for everything today. If it were tomorrow, I'd have to figure something else out since all my frozen stuff would go bad.
Fingers crossed.

I think I lucked out with the fridge.
Takes a while to get it cold enough for food from scratch, but it's been plugging away at it for over an hour now and I finally brought everything back in. Looks like none of the food was ruined.
I definitely had a problem with the innards though. There's one unit up top in the freezer that has a grate at the top with a fan behind it, and it goes down to the fridge where it splinters off into three separate "holes". They were completely stuffed with ice.
I got this from some family when my old one died. No idea how old this one is either. Ever since I had it, it's had an evaporation problem. Ice cubes will literally disappear by themselves if left in there for a few weeks (I rarely ever use ice anymore because of my teeth and my almost involuntary chewing when I use it). Water also likes to come down these holes and pool up in the basin of the fridge below the crisper drawers.
What I'm thinking (hoping, actually), is that over time the water slowly dripping down into the fridge started freezing like icicles outside and eventually plugged these three holes up completely and that's when the frost built up in the freezer and the fridge stopped getting cold.
All I know for sure right now is the cooling mechanism seems to be working just fine. I probably won't know for at least a few days if this thing is going to keep working or just go belly up though. But at least my new food isn't going to go bad.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

The filaree and pineapple weed were very susceptible, but the as far as the cheeseweed and grasses ... as far as they were concerned I may as well have fertilized them. Not comfortable spraying a lot of chemicals in the yard because of the dog and all of the friendly critters that come to visit so I'm planning to use a weed torch. I just need to find out what kind of propane supply and at what price, plus I need to decide whether I want the big 400,000 btu one, the 100,000 btu one, or the 20,000 btu one. The advantage of the smaller one is that you can spot-weed more effectively, the disadvantage is that it takes a lot longer to cover the same square footage because the flame size is so much smaller. I think I need a big one, I have a lot of square feet to cover.

Hmm.. sorry about that. They obliterated the weeds by my house. Not sure if it's because we've got different growth or because you used less than me or a combo of both. I don't have any animals around me except for ones that want to destroy my property, so I wasn't shedding any tears about using more than the recommended amount.
If you're getting a torch, I recommend not going any smaller than the one they used on Aliens.
The fridge seems to be fine. I just have to hope it keeps working right, but I don't see any evidence that it isn't.
In fact, not only is it running more quietly now than it did before, but some of the louder "cracks" that I have heard in the kitchen area (right next to the porch) since around summer time when I was first panicking about the state of the house were mysteriously absent last night. I think what I had in my head as actual cracking of stuff due to the porch foundation shifting was actually my fridge letting me know it was having a serious problem. It was probably all that ice in places that it shouldn't be expanding and getting into places where it wasn't designed to be.
I'm going to do some digging this week and see if there is an optimal temperature setting on that model that I should have on that thing to keep the buildup from happening again.

Nice that you'll be getting a warm weekend, Brenda. Pretty nice around here right now, but our weekend is going to be frigid... probably the coldest we've seen all season.
I can't complain too much though. It's the middle of January and except for Halloween and early November it's been an unseasonably warm winter with very little precipitation.

Even more good news on the home front...
My concerns that major shifting and settling on the porch addition to my house have gotten out of hand since I've lived here were all in my imagination.
True, you can see an out of level pitch on the porch as it goes away from the house, but I just dug up all the pictures that I had from before I bought it and it was just as "bad" back then. Both my friend and my old man were telling me this summer that I was just imagining it and they could hardly even tell that it was happening from the street while I was showing it to them. So that coupled with the lack of "cracking" noises now that the fridge is working fine is really putting my mind at ease about any problems that would be out of my control without big money expenditures. It's funny the way your imagination can get out of hand if you let it...
Man... it's really nice looking at all of these old pictures. Even without all the new work that I've been doing, I've kind of forgotten how bad the house looked before I bought it and did all the work on it years ago.
To think... at the low of the housing market and it being in the state it was after a foreclosure, I bought this at more than $90k less than the previous owners did. If I really take my time working on it and I splurge for a new furnace and A/C, I might be able to make a $100k profit or more on it in a few years when it's all done.
By that point, I might reconsider even selling it. It's a lot of outside maintenance for sure, but maybe psychologically I just think it's overwhelming because of all of the other work that needed to be done on top of that. I might think a lot differently about the situation when everything is shiny and new. You sure can't beat the taxes around here, and living is cheap.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

I think I need the old-folk's version of the flu shot, which has only 3 strains instead of 4, but has multiple times higher concentrations of everything to get a better immune response*. (*As an aside, I recently read a report of a study that indicates flu shots work best on 'naive' immune systems - yanno young people who haven't already been through every kind of flu for the past millennia. What happens with us old folks is that if the current vaccine even accidentally has a small irrelevant part that remotely resembles (cross reacts with) something we've seen before, our immune systems kick into gear and scour it out immediately ... meaning we never 'see' the vaccine long enough to develop a specific response to this year's version. I believe that by upping the dose a lot, enough vaccine hangs around long enough to create that specific response.)
But I got a bit out and about today, and went for coffee to my local ma & pa restaurant. Before I got sick I'd been talking with one of the waitresses. It turns out she and I are BOTH fans of TV cooking shows, have settled on the same shows as things we enjoy, and we both really enjoy thinking about new recipes. So I gave her one of my frozen meal portions to take home - and I warned her it was VERY utilitarian, frugal cooking! It was me literally looking through the frig and freezer and using up my all my left-over veges - potatoes, onions, kale, cabbage, and riced cauliflower - cooked with chicken thighs, and served with a fresh-thyme-and-cracked pepper white gravy.
And today I found out SHE LIKED IT!! I felt good about that!
But I have to say, on the other side a while ago I had some of an America's Test Kitchen recipe prepared by a family member that was simply spectacular. I couldn't describe how good it was. It was simply the best chicken dish I've ever had.
Even 'good' home cooking doesn't compare to that!

Wait. My post might have been too subtle for you.
No amount of opinion swapping WITH ME is going to change what people think of you. Learn from the reactions of the people around you. If they treat you like an unwelcome asshole, and you want a different reception, instead of trying to endlessly dispute their opinions with me - or them, just stop being an asshole.
But do what you want. Your actions aren't my problem. What people think of you isn't my problem.
Done now.

Carl Sagan's Baloney Detection Kit

Since you seem to be too mentally or morally incapably of using Sagan's 'baloney' detection kit, or even to understand or admit what the words in it mean ('evidence' has never been a viable concept for you), the next time I post Sagan's kit, I'll spell out all they ways you're deficient. Now, you may be too incapable or corrupt to admit your deficiencies, but I'm sure everyone else will manage to understand.
BTW, keep posting here just because you can't address my posts in their relevant threads. I'm sure you generate all sorts of illwill, and convince absolutely nobody by doing that.

As you've said. At times there is a need to repost a post until a proper answer to the post is provided. Maybe you should explain, in great detail, what Sagan's points and perspectives are. That might go a long way in explaining to me why you felt a need to post this a dozen times.

Whole family is sick, according to CA Dept Public Health influenza B/ Victoria, same as Kiki. It's making the rounds! Two of hubby's doctors were sick with it.
Aches. Headache, cough, wheeze, fever. No fun
Went off to a lumber yard to help hubby pick out some planks powered on ibuprofen, then topped off with more ibuprofen to go grocery shopping but after that I'm going home to bed. I can hardly wait!!

I'm okay Kiki. It was slick snow-mush. Bus I was on couldn't get close enough to the curb. I got off the bus alright but when I tried to step up on the curb, what I was stepping on wasn't solid and down I went. Then when I tried to get up again, I couldn't. A gentleman wanting the bus helped me with my cane to get back to my feet. I just stood for a minute till I could walk to my chiropactor's office. Good thing I had an appointment with him today.

Had some side projects taking me away from the house work recently. They worked out well. Managed to grab a whole bunch of good stuff at a steal too... some of it I wouldn't have bought right now if it wasn't such an amazing price, and most of it I would never have paid full price for at any time. I don't know if Sears is going out of business or not, but if you ever wanted any Craftsman tools at a steep discount, now's the time to buy.
I think I'm going to switch modes here and caulk what I have done so far, even though all the trim upstairs isn't done yet and I haven't even begun the windows. Reason being that caulk dries fast and is paintable pretty shortly after it's applied, if I don't use a whole tube it's not going to go bad on me before I get back to it. I'd like to have the door frames ready to go for the doors sooner than later. The only door painting on the 5 doors that I've done already that still needs to be done is flipping the bedroom doors over and giving them two coats on the other side. The 3 bi-fold doors are all ready to go up. I was going to wait until all the trim and windows were done before I began caulking and spackling before the final coat, but I don't want to worry about staging doors in places where they might accidentally get whacked when I could just hang them where they belong.
During the spring I'll do the doors to the attic and the bathroom. I didn't want to be in a huge rush to get them done since they're going to take almost as much work as the two bedroom doors (minus hole patching), and if I don't have my attic door on right now I'm just throwing a ton of money away on heat. At least the two doors on the 1st floor are already painted so I won't have to do nearly as much work prepping them for a paint job.
I might still wait on the spackle for the nail holes on the front of all the trim as the last thing I do though. I've already opened that container once to fill the holes in the doors, and even though I've wrapped the container up in foil and it's not hot in my house, that stuff's shelf life diminishes exponentially the more you open it up and I'd rather not have to buy more later just because half of it dried out.
The baseboard is practically done now except for the final bedroom pieces that will meet the closet doors and the closets themselves... and also the smaller cuts I'll need to make in the hallway. The closets themselves will be a breeze, but the rest will be fairly tricky. I want to put a cool little 45 degree cut on the ends of the pieces for the closets that will have a tiny 45 glued to the end of them with wood glue. I have to find that youtube video on how to do this properly again. It looks 100 times nicer than just having a dead end on the baseboard. What makes this even trickier is that the other side will need the 22.5 degree scarf joint to join with the final piece in one room, and the other room will need a coped angle on the end. I think the coped end is going to be the trickiest piece I cut. There's basically zero wiggle room here since the lengths need to be spot on otherwise the nice 45's will either come up too short and look stupid that far away from the closet doors, or they will be too long and will interfere with the flow of the bifold doors. Even trickier on the small bedroom to figure out because there currently are no closet doors until I buy them, so I will have to use what I have in the other bedroom as a template for where it needs to rest.
The hallway is going to be a pain too. Some of the pieces will be easy, but with all of those doors that are just barely making it to the wall and the ones I had to rip, I'm going to have to get a little creative with the baseboard cuts since it will look bad if I just but the ends of baseboard to the fronts of door casings. I dug up old pictures of the house and saw how it was done originally and they had the crappiest and smallest trim available so t

We're in for a mess around here. One inch of snow in the afternoon, three to six overnight turning into rain by around 4AM with the heaviest of the rain ending around noon tomorrow but with a chance of snow the rest of the day as it drops from a 40 degree high to a low of 7 degrees overnight.
I'm not driving anywhere...
I just hope the power stays on this time. Not feeling an all nighter screwing around with my generator in the middle of January.

Been fighting this flu since Monday. Not a big fan of taking medicime for symptom relief, but one thing I AM a believer in is taking meds for comfort before bedtime, so I can get a good night's sleep. IMHO that's really key to getting better. Anyway, yesterday was the worst. I crawled (back) into bed around 9 AM feeling like a block of ice and hurting everywhere, and just stayed there and didn't wake up again until after 4 PM. Can't believe what a good dog our doggie was- except for the morning when she really REALLY needed to go outside she just curled up next to me patiently waiting for me to get up. I thought for sure she'd be a total annoyance. It's almost as if she knew I was sick, and throttled back her 2-year-old-toddler-equivalent-energy for which I am EXTREMELY grateful, since the rest of the household was in only marginally better shape than me.
SIX, you posted somewhere that you tend to wind up with a wheezing cough. May I suggest cough syrup with dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) and guaifenesen (expectorant, loosens mucus). The problem with a scantly productive frequent cough is that the cough itself irritates the trachea and bronchi, leading to more cough more ittitation and more cough. So Robitussin DM or generic equivalent. It might help you thru the worst of many flus; it sure worked for me! Also, drinking any warm light beverage (I like warm water best). Ibuprofen for fever and aches. So far been very useful as a bedtime regimen.
Anyway. I'm definitely on the mend, yay!!!

Been dealing with a bit of a cold here, but it's nothing serious. I mean, I hope not to have to deal with it this year, but really I just want to make it another 10 or so days at least so I can get my oral surgery done first. I doubt very much they'll take me if I've got the flu and I had to wait almost 2 months since I scheduled the appointment to get this done finally.
I'll keep that in mind. I don't usually like taking meds, but even in prime shape while working the job last year the flu killed my performance at work for about a month after the fever broke.

Gross... so much for rain washing anything away. It's technically "raining" for the next few hours, but even though it's 5 degrees above freezing it's only raining enough to turn the existing snow into slush that will no doubt become a fine sheet of ice, turning our entire neighborhood into a skating rink by mid afternoon when it will begin snowing for a few hours, and subsequently drop to single digits over night.
I usually covet the life of the mailman, but then days like today happen.

Yeah... fluids didn't help much last time the chest crap lingered. I could stand to be more hydrated these days, living on coffee all day long, but back when I was working overnights I probably drank 1/2 gallon to a gallon of water per day. I'll keep it in mind though.
Caulk, like anything else, is just something you get better at as you do it. Everything I did looks fantastic, but that's a lot of touch up work with the sponge that I owe that to. Though I was far from perfect by the time the work day was ending, the process went along much faster and much less sponge work was needed. I would have completed every single piece of baseboard and door casings that have been put up so far, but I ran out of my 2nd tube of caulk midway through the last side of the last damn door... As much as I'd like to just finish that door now, I'm not going to open a fresh tube when I don't know exactly when I'll have enough other stuff to kill it. It's not a critical door since it's not one of the ones I'm hanging, so no big deal.
That took way longer than I though it would, but doesn't everything?
So all of the frames/casings are ready to paint where I need it before the doors go up. Tomorrow the plan is to paint the two coats on the back sides of both bedroom doors and get all of those door frames painted. While I'm doing that, I'm going to try to get as much of the window casings painted that I can fit on the horses, and I should have my kitchen and living room tables back in a few days after the doors dry and I hang them.
All that I need to do to finish the doors up then is to spackle the nail holes and paint the faces of the casings.
Slowly but surely it's getting done.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

Thank god it came on 20 seconds later. I didn't want to start burning the trim I haven't used to keep myself warm, and I really didn't want to have to get my generator running in near sub zero temps. I wouldn't have needed it for the sump now probably since it's all frozen, but I don't have a cord long enough to get to the furnace.

Hey KIKI, I have a quick medical question about this flu since we both seen to have it..
As usual, my trachae and bronchi fare the worst ... I wheeze and crackle and pop and whistle in several different place when I breathe. The thing that concerns me is that today, when I was supposedly getting better, I couldn't manage a 3/4 mile stroll without getting woozy and feverish, but had to go back to bed and sleep for another 2 hours!
We've been managing with various OTC meds- for me decongestant nose spray and saline rinses (because amazingly-colored stuff in there) and lots and lots of cough syrup, every four hours like the bottle says. Hoping to break this cough up faster but the wheezing and goop is coming from a lot deeper than I'm used to, and sometimes bright green.
So, here's the question: At what point do I draw the line and see a doctor? Worried that I might "manage" myself into pneumonia. What should I be on the lookout for?

Lucky you SIX. Now it is the eastern part of Canada taking the hits. BC should be starting to warm up now that this hopefully latest storm has moved on through. Expecting rain over the next few days, so snow will start to melt but that will make a huge, yucky mess for walking and driving.
Yeah... we got that mess right now Brenda. Streets are probably fine by now, but otherwise it's an ice rink out there.
EDIT: F'in hell, it's cold now. 5 degrees with a real feel of -14.
If I'm going to finish painting those bedroom doors in the basement today I might have to take the thermometer down there and see if it's even warm enough to do that.

Oh, BTW... the trim looks BEAUTIFUL with the caulk now that I can plainly see it all in the daylight. The coped 45's for the corners were the way to go for sure. It looks like they cut those boards from a tree with a large limb growing at a perfect 90 degree angle. The 22.5 degree scarf joints for joining them were actually difficult to get any caulk in because of how "perfect" they were. I might do a quick spot paint over them and see how they look when they dry, because when I make the ones in the future I might want to deliberately separate them about 2mm just so there is a good space to get caulk in there. If that's the case, I can always use a blade on the ones I did now to create a divot to stuff.
I'm glad I took a few hours to make backing boards out of newspaper for the couple of doors that weren't centered properly and didn't allow for the casings to join right on the return as well. Even with those backing rods I wasn't able to finish 4 doors with a single tube of caulk. The first tube I used on doors that didn't have that issue let me get 7 done with some to spare. If I didn't have those backing rods it I might not have even been able to caulk 2 doors with a tube.
That was a pretty cool idea. I didn't get that off of YouTube. I thought of it because of a video I watched about sealing the front porch next to the foundation of the house. You're supposed to use self leveling caulk on top of foam backing rod tubes about a 1/2 to an inch below the concrete slab and then just caulk it (Unless you want to spend $200 on caulk to fill it down to the dirt).
I did make sure not to have any of the newspaper closer than an inch to the floor though, especially on the bathroom door where water could seep up. Went heavy on the caulk on the bottoms to seal it all in.

My recommendation based on personal experience over the years is if anything green comes out of my throat or sinuses, I hot foot it to a doc. Cause in my case it could mean a sinus infection.

Got one coat on the back of the doors today, and painted all of the door frames that are going to need to be done so I can hang them. I was planning on doing a lot more since my horses were free, but I'm running out of paint and I didn't want to risk not having enough for the second coat on the doors. It should be enough to do the doors and finish the rest of the frames, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see for sure. Only 52 degrees in my basement right now, so while it's warm enough to do painting it's just barely and there's no reason to rush that final coat.
Although the bedroom doors are going to go straight up after they dry, it just occured to me that I'm not ready to hang the closet or linen closet doors just yet. While it's technically possible to install the baseboard in the closet with the doors up, it will be much easier to install, caulk and paint them without the doors on, so they're going to be staged until then. Gives me another incentive to work on what is probably going to be a little tricky.
I think I'm going to wait on the windows until I get everything else done... maybe even after I build the closets. I'm kind of thinking that I want to buy better wood than what I did buy for the windowsills. I'm thinking what I might do is use the existing pieces I had bought to put a 2nd layer underneath the actual sills and when it gets warmer outside and I can work in the garage again I can find all of my router bits and make some really fancy looking windowsills. No reason to rush that part of the job and put up something I'm going to regret now that everything else looks so nice.

Woke up to snow this morning here. Wasn't expecting to see that. But then again, it is winter. Figures that the year that I'm not driving 35 miles round trip to work is the year where we barely get any. Woke up to a bad dream that I had a moldy stick in my trachea that I couldn't breathe past because ... I felt like I had a moldy stick in my trachea I couldn't breathe past. Something was so swollen and the mucus was so sticky I started panicking about being able to breathe. So at 2AM I was digging around in the frig for my rescue inhaler (just in case! Altho an asthma attack wasn't exactly what it felt like; if I had had an aerosol steroid inhaler maybe that would have been more on target) and spent the next hour and some inhaling steam. The warm moist air seemed to sooth the inflammation, and eventually (some of) the goo liquefied enough to be able to be coughed up, and I just got too sleepy to give a damn, but that was scary. Haven't felt that bad that since the last time I had a serious virus, about four years ago, right b4 I was due for surgery (Needless to say, "they" decided I was way too sick for anesthesia.)
Fortunately, I have two doctors' appointments coming up this week, both to address the generalized inflammation that has been dogging me in one way or another for a long time. All I have to do is hang on until Wednesday. I hope I get to the bottom of all this. I can deal with the other crap, but I need a ready response for flu, since the NEXT time the flu comes around it will be another Big Deal for me.
*****
EDITED TO ADD Tried the rescue inhaler (albuterol) and it did reduce the spasms, so I guess it was an asthma attack after all, caused by viral inflammation.
Yanno, I never had asthma until I moved to CA as a young adult and contracted a serious upper respiratory virus then. It's been dogging me ever since.

Wait?... so it was just a dream and you were panicking after the fact, or your nightmare was telling you about some immediate problems that were happening right then?
I hope you feel better soon. This all sounds terrible.
I can empathize with the dreams. I've had dreams about my teeth falling out for about 15 years now. I think my body was trying to tell me something. Recently I had a pretty funny one, and the most terrifying one I've ever had in a single week.
The funny one was about the tooth that I'm really working on loosening up so I can pull it before my appointment. It's just been kind of wobbling down around there for about a year now, impossible to keep clean because it can't be brushed and not worth the $100 to have somebody else do it. Barely even hurts. But the reason I've kept it this long is because I'm afraid that with two missing in the front on the bottom it would change the shape of my face and even worse it would give me even more speech problems than I've had to overcome with the one already missing and this one just flopping around like a fish.
In my dream, that tooth fell out (It was HUGE... they're always rediculously big when they fall out in my dreams), and not only did I start talking like Hank Azeria on The Birdcage, but in my dream the only thing keeping my tongue from just forcing its way out of my mouth and hanging out of it like an icicle was that tooth, so I couldn't even put my tongue back in my mouth without forcing it back in with my fingers.
The scary one was me brushing my teeth and thousands of small green and black spiders crawling out of the gums and covering my entire body.
I hope our upcoming appointments put an end to these dreams.

So... I've got kind of a weird situation with the baseboard in the hallway...
I know I mentioned that everything is extremely tight up there and I've had to actually rip the sides of several of the casings just to get them to fit. I've known about the problem I'm going to have for a while, and I know that I'll figure out a solution to this on my own, maybe with the coping saw and the files, but I was wondering if anybody has their own ideas about it too.
Probably 1/3rd of my door casings are in a position on their respective walls/corners where I'm going to actually have to butt the baseboard cuts directly on the front of them, which is not the way these casings/baseboard sets are designed to be installed. They're supposed to be installed with the baseboards butting against the sides of the casings where they are the thickest.
So in with the full casings I didn't have to rip, the baseboard will be butting up against the widest part in the corner, but that will go in at a pretty tricky angle as the widest part of the baseboard from the wall will not touch the casing anymore because of its angle/curve. with the ripped casings, that will probably be even more tricky to do.
Like I said, I think a bit of coping/filing will do the trick, and as long as it's reasonably close the caulk will join it all together and make it look great. Just wondering if anybody had any ideas that might be easier.
EDIT:
It seems my YouTube-Fu is failing me on this one. That's twice in 24 hours actually. I've got a very oddly shaped closet in the Master Bedroom that I'm trying to figure out how to maximize the space in. It's deeper on the right side than the left side by quite a bit because it was built around all of the piping that goes to the roof.
If I just hang a pole in the back part, there will be less space to hang clothes in the Master Bedroom than the smaller one, and a lot of wasted space in the front, where I could install some shelving on the left side. I'm considering possibly installing two racks in the back, with the bottom one easily removable. I'm just hanging shirts and pants in there, but if a woman has a lot of dresses the two poles aren't going to work for her.
I was also thinking of a way to put a shelf in the back with a single pole underneath it, and another shelf adjoining that going to the front of the door, and then hanging another smaller poll from that one for more additional hanging space... but that would mean that you're kind of burying the 22" of clothes you hung on the pole in the back if you fill it all up.
I know I made a mock up of this layout with the exact dimensions. If I can find it I will post it and see what you all think.
I don't want to build this closet just to suit my needs. I'd rather have some female opinions on this one.

With all the rain Sunday and into Sunday night it looks like a good portion of it has melted. I'll know more once I get out to do things and over the week when I head to work.
I would imagine so. That storm is going to be as bad as the first one for up here. Army has gone into Newfoundland to help with repairs and digging them out.

OMG those dreams about your teeth, they're truly the stuff of nightmares! Obviously they reflect your deep concerns about your teeth, but quite often recurring dreams tap into deeper concerns and constructs as well. So, ASIDE from your teeth, which you consider foundational to yourself (your survival as "you", the person you see yourself as ....) is there anything else that you feel is essential for survival that you may not be attending to?
Dreams .... funny things! Mostly, they're pretty random and so I'm not much into dream interpretation ... when I remember them I can uusually track back to some weird thing that caught my attention that day, on TV or whatever. But there ARE some that do repeat, and they mean something, if you can figure out what.
Let me give you some examples of my archetypal dreams ... I have four dreams that repeat, in various guises, over the years. One is the "flying" dream, where I escape by levitating. One is a "swimming" dream, where I sink into water. One is a "skiiing" dream, involving ... skiing! And one is where I have to inspect some portion of our house (attic, crawlspace) and find it totally deficient - flimsy, shoddy costruction, termite-eaten, or whatever. They're all more-or-less related to a basic emotional reponse. The "attic" dream is my worry about not being able to provide a home ... a REAL home, not just a place to purchase a live, but a place to stay ... for the family.
But the "skiiing" dream is a little more interesting because it involved a specific event a number of years ago, when I was just learning to ski. (Still a beginning skier, btw!). Despite having climbed many tall stacks, I do have an inherent fear of falling, and it's triggered (among other things) by facing a steep slope with no protective barrier. Yanno ... like a ski slope. When I was learning to ski, I wasn't doing well because I kept wanting to lean back ... but do that, and you lose control of your skis. In a flash, it came to me that I could only ski if I ignored my instinctive reponse and actually leaned INTO my skis. It became an emotional paradigm: lean in to, and control your fears.
*****
So, these tooth dreams ... that they keep recurring means that they probably won't go away, even when your mouth is entirely taken care of. Not knowing your history, I might say that it might have something to do with a deep-seated concern about your ability to fundamentally take care of yourself, perhaps into old age? But as I discovered, these are all tied to specific events and personal moments, things only the individual would know about, so only you would be able to understand the deeper meaning (if any) behind these recurring dreams/nightmares.

Oddly enough Signy, last night was my worst as well. I had a horrible dream I was wrapped up in all sorts of blankets and sheets and I was struggling to get free because I couldn't breathe. And I woke up not being able to breathe. Yeah, the wheezing, bubbling, popping, gurgling coming out of my lungs was pretty bad. But mine was more situational ... I just needed to reposition myself and do pursed-lip breathing and wheeze-to-cough airway clearing. Though it did take some discipline to not go into 'panic gasping' mode. Also I'm not 'gasping' - much - like I do with a typical asthma attack where I feel I can't get air. Overall, I'm managing.

Gasping for air, that's what woke me up. Breathing steam calmed that down but it took a long time and finally Albuterol did the trick.
Hubby is cycling hot/ cold need to bolo secondary infection. Going to get a pulse oximeter to add to my stash of useful items. Should also get another otoscope to replace the one that dd broke. Overall I've found these items (thermometer, oximeter, otoscope, strong flashlight, sinus rinse bottle, rubbing and drinking alcohol, perx, distilled water, glycerin, ibuprofen, cough syrup, sugar free lozenges and of course Albuterol) to be very useful in my home pharmacy.

I didn't want to dwell on that, but fwiw I find that scary when it happens to me. You must have nerves of steel to go through such a protracted routine just to stop gasping.

I have a weird sleep disorder that I've been unable to diagnose online at all. I've only ever been able to put in one single search term that found a forum where somebody else mentioned having the exact same thing, but it was well over a decade ago that post was made and nobody ever answered him when he asked if anybody knew what it was.
I'll get right on the verge of sleeping, to the point that I might have already missed 15 to 20 minutes of whatever was auto playing on YouTube, and suddenly I'll get a strange and sometimes even violent sensation in my chest that makes me sit straight up. It never hurts at all afterward, but it just freaks me out. Even though it's happened for 20 years now, my body automatically does it and my mind can't stop it from happening.
When it first happened, it was always after I smoked some weed and tried sleeping, so I thought it was just the weed. Not every time I smoked, but only when I smoked. Later in life, I discovered, that any night I drank it never happened. (Not a good lesson to learn there).
But in the last few years it seems to happen even more often, and it's been even longer than I've smoked weed than I last drank. I think it's a nerves/stress issue, actually. It's probably happened at least once 80% of the nights since I got laid off. Some nights it won't stop for hours, and it could happen a dozen times over the course of about 4 or 5 hours before I can finally fall asleep without that happening.
Anybody have any clue what that might be???
BTW... I really hope you all feel better soon.

Oh... and any ideas about how I'm going to do those baseboards or for a female opinion about how I might build that strange-shaped closet? Since I'm intending on selling this house at some point in the relatively near future, I'd love to build it with a female in mind since the most likely future buyers are going to be a married couple with a kid or two. Everything is going to look so fantastic upstairs, and that bedroom is 15'x 15' and easily fits a huge bed with big furniture.
