Well, I'm 29 now but I'm really considering turning 30. I want to be certain though, so I'm going to give it, say, 7 months and 20 something days.

What better way to celebrate a 30th birthday than by going to the premere of the Firefly movie?! It was terribly nice of Joss and Co. to schedule the release date so near my birthday. Thanks!

DENNIS: I'm 37!

ARTHUR: What?

I'm 22, but apparently I look like I'm under 18 because every time I buy a lottery ticket or go to an R movie I get carded. Who the heck actually cards for that stuff anyway? I get allergy injections and this crazy old lady who does it keeps asking if my mom brought me because she needs to sign my paperwork. She even asked if I was making plans for the Prom. Yeah I made those plans like six years ago. New neighbors moved in about a month ago and their son, who's probably 15-16, saw me getting the mail last week and he said, "so your ditching school today, too? Cool, huh? What grade are you in?" It drives me crazy!

Sorry, I sort of got off subject, but I felt like venting.

This is a partial list of Firefly fans I personally know, and their ages.
Me, 42 (I relate most with Mal.)
Wife, 41 (She identifies most with Inara, should that worry me? LOL)

Daughter, 15 (Likes Kaylee.)
My mother, 72 (Thinks Book is facinating.)

My wife is 42, but looks much younger. Whenever she goes out with her girlfriends, she's always getting hit on by college age boys. Trust me, looking younger than your age is a blessing!

LOL Well comparatively speaking from my POV you're not that young. But I suppose when you look at the bigger picture, your point is made.

I know I get it a lot when i talk of TV and movie classics from my generation and also fomr my favs from the previous generation or 2 that I grew up on in the days when those shows were actually rerun a lot.

Ah Barney Miller... Used to watch that right before my nightly dose of Man from UNCLE and Mission: Impossible.

Hey I read somewhere that technically I'm supposed to be a part of Generation X (tail end)which clashes with most stuff I read previously. I know I'm not Gen Y so I assumed I was like in a lost little transitional generation in-between. But I guess I'm wrong.... I have more in common with Gen X'ers than Gen Y'ers so I guess I can go with that...

Gen X, Gen Y, phooey I say! *twg thinks we are a bit more Xer, just a bit* anyhoo, I’m me, you're you, and we like PBS from the 70s and 80s. And we watched a lot of after-school-specials...oh and we remember the original music television with music...and um, yea, I should stop before people realize how young I am.

Elder shmulder I say. You're only my elder by like...months. Small insignificant months.
Though I totally called it before I read that by your Robotech reference.

As for Gen X- I guess technically we fall into that category. I never felt much like one though because when they made the big fuss about Generation X like 10-15 years ago I knew my brother fit the description but I felt too darned young. i was still in high school for pete's sake. But considering pop cuturally I'm mor eon the page of the classic gen X'ers now inthier 30's I guess i can't fight it.

And yeah what's wrong with liking 60s, 70s and 80s pop culture? PBS, Firefly and fantasy/Scifi?

Anyway I'd rather be thought of as young than Old. My last ex gave me so much grief about how *old I was because of the vintage eras the stuff I liked came form. Plus it was an age gap I should never have tried to tranverse but that's a drama tale for another day.... last time I try dating a Gen Y'er I'll tell ya that.
