Too bad that The Free Beacon does NOT publicize that. But who wants to understand why Trump voters and fools are dead? Neither the Trump voters nor fools of all political parties want to know.
The U.S. COVID-19 Vaccination Program at One Year: How Many Deaths and Hospitalizations Were Averted?
In the absence of a vaccination program, there would have been approximately 1.1 million additional COVID-19 deaths and more than 10.3 million additional COVID-19 hospitalizations in the U.S. by November 2021.
Without the U.S. vaccination program, COVID-19 deaths would have been approximately 3.2 times higher and COVID-19 hospitalizations approximately 4.9 times higher than the actual toll during 2021.
If no one had been vaccinated, daily deaths from COVID-19 could have jumped to as high as 21,000 per day — nearly 5.2 times the level of the record peak of more than 4,000 deaths per day recorded in January 2021.

A reader brought to my attention a CDC study of COVID-19 from late October that compared the mortality rate of vaccinated people vs. unvaccinated people. However, this study didn't do the usual boring thing and investigate deaths from COVID. It investigated deaths from non-COVID causes. Surprisingly, it turned out that mortality from non-COVID causes was way lower for people who had been vaccinated with either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines:
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7043e2.htm#T2_down
The standardized mortality rate from non-COVID causes was about 0.35 for vaccinated people vs. 1.11 for non-vaccinated people. This disparity held for all age groups, all races and ethnicities, and for both men and women. The disparity was biggest among the Black community: the unvaccinated mortality rate was more than 4x that of the vaccinated.
I am suspicious of these results, but not because I have any specific objections to the data gathering or the statistical analysis. Somebody with access to the raw data would have to comment on that.
However, I'm routinely suspicious of studies that show gigantic results. I mean, if these vaccines had some odd property that reduced your mortality rate by 10% or 20% or so, I might buy it. But 3x or more? That's beyond belief.
There's also this: I couldn't find any critiques of this study. Why? If these results are real, every medical researcher in the world should be gobsmacked. Money should be pouring into research labs that want to investigate what's going on. But that doesn't seem to be the case. These results were reported fairly widely when the study came out, but the mainstream press mostly ignored it and after that it disappeared. This makes no sense.
If this study is true, it's yet another great reason to get vaccinated—and to get happily boosted every year. But I would hold on for some independent confirmation before I started celebrating.

What I wonder is... there are many ??? about whether the vaccines protect against Omicron bc it has so many mutations in it's spike protein.
Seems like it is mild enough to be almost a moot point.
But what about the reverse? Does an Omicron infection protect ppl against the previous variants?

That makes that population different from people who are on Medicare/ Medicaid/ have no insurance, who primarily tend to be poor and also non-white.

To me the study shows a selection bias based on income, which also translates population-wise to a selection bias based on ethnic groups.

Trump may be losing some hard-core supporters over his recent endorsement of the COVID-19 vaccine, but at least one of his most outspoken allies still has his back.
Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., relayed Trump’s position on Twitter Monday, apparently attempting to assure skeptics that Trump’s promotion of the jab does not equal support for COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
“I have President Trump’s permission to tell you all that he is 100% AGAINST the mandates, but he still encourages everyone to get the vaccine and booster,” Greene wrote, saying she had just spoken to him on the phone. “That is his position. He also said if he was President he would never mandate the vaccines, and no one would be fired [for not getting vaccinated].”
While the freshman congresswoman did not go so far as to advocate getting inoculated against COVID herself, the post was notable in light of Greene’s own track record as both an opponent of the vaccine and a constant source of misinformation about the coronavirus.
The tweet seems to reflect the awkward position many outspoken supporters of the former president have found themselves in as a result of his recent vaccine advocacy. At an event with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly in Dallas on Dec. 19, Trump confirmed that he had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and revealed that he had received a third shot, a comment that prompted boos from some people in the audience. In another interview with conservative commentator Candace Owens later that week, Trump continued to tout the efficacy of the COVID vaccines, which were developed under his administration.
“The vaccine is one of the greatest achievements of mankind,” Trump told Owens. “And if you take the vaccine, you’re protected. The results of the vaccine are good.”
The comments drew immediate criticism from some prominent far-right figures, like conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who said Trump’s words were “nothing but a raft of dirty lies” and warned, “You are either completely ignorant ... or you are one of the most evil men who ever lived.” Others, like MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and pro-Trump lawyer Lin Wood, attempted to defend Trump. In a statement to the Daily Beast last week, Lindell said that while he is “100% against the vaccine!” he wasn’t concerned about Trump’s support for it because “he is 100% against mandates!” Wood suggested Trump’s vaccine endorsement was part of his “wartime strategy” and urged followers to hold off on “passing judgment.”
Even Owens seemed caught between supporting the former president and opposing the vaccine after her interview with Trump, saying that while she had “no issue with any person who wants to get the vaccine,” she did not trust it and would “never, ever” let it into her body.
Monday’s messaging appeared to be Greene’s attempt to reconcile the recent comments made by her “favorite president of all time” with her own vociferous anti-vax stance.

We discussed many issues, people, races in ‘22 as well as vaccines and mandates.
We discussed #COVID19, how awful the virus from China has been, and how horribly it’s been politicized.
2. I have President Trump’s permission to tell you all that he is 100% AGAINST the mandates, but he still encourages everyone to get the vaccine and booster.

I think it all depends on the numbers.
Starting with who is a vulnerable population? Well, people over 65 are at increased risk. There was some question whether they were at risk because of age or because older people have generally collected more co-morbidities than younger people. And the last time I looked (which was a LONG time ago! and which may have changed since then) the opinion was slanted towards co-morbidities. But anyway, there are older people, over 65. And there are people with diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, high BMI, kidney disease, immune suppression ... and other comorbidities that can occur at any age. When I totalled it all up, over half the population was at increased risk of death for medical reasons.
Then there are people at high risk jobs, essential employees, and so forth who you might also want to protect.
Adding up the medically vulnerable and the people one might want to specially protect, they're clearly the majority of the population, and maybe even the vast majority. So there are a lot of people who could use the protection of vaccination/ boosters, N95 masks, and whatever else you want to implement.
Then there's the impact of large numbers of sick people on the medical system, which might mean other sick people don't get care. And there's also the impact of large numbers of sick people on national health care expenses, and on the economy in general.
So I see a few large impacts from uncontrolled COVID-19 on the country as a whole.
When it comes to children, I have 2 questions 1) are they more or less hurt by vaccination or infection* and 2) do they significantly impact vulnerable populations*.
When it comes to Omicron, preliminary data I saw is that, like with other variants, mRNA vaccines prevent about 2/3* of all infections. But if Omicron is 3x* more transmissible for example, then of course the protection factor is overwhelmed by the transmissibility factor. It's not that vaccination doesn't help, it's that you need to run faster just to stay in place.
To me, the answers lie in the numbers*. What mitigates significant impacts of COVID-19, and what doesn't?
But where are those numbers*? Where are the risk/ benefit analyses* I know must have been done?
In general, every time I see claims and statements made without direct reference to supporting data ... I have serious doubts about validity. That test served me well with Iraq/ WMD and with Trump/ RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!!; and with many 'news' events between the two. So when I see overblown 'news' stories about the dangers of COVID-19 vaccinations (untethered to any data or evidence); OR I see bald statements about how everyone needs to be immunized, or else! DOOOOOOMMM!!! (also untethered to any data or evidence) ... I have to put those statements into the 'something smells bad' bin.
Anyway, those are my thoughts. But I have no conclusions, simply because there's no evidence attached to the hype.

Greene has repeatedly compared those promoting mask and vaccine usage to Nazis, continuing to make the offensive analogy even after issuing a public apology for it. During an appearance on former Trump adviser Steve Bannon’s podcast last month, Greene once again railed against “vaccine Nazis” and stated proudly that she is “not vaccinated, and I’m not getting the vaccine because I’m an American.” Signym, what do you think of that? I think, with such statements, Greene has killed people because she runs her mouth when she should not.

I know about Greene.
But UNLIKE YOU, I can agree with ONE of her statements without agreeing - or disagreeing- with everything else that she's said on that topic (or any other topic).
That's like with Trump: I agreed with three things that he proposed (free trade, immigration, relations with Russia) I disagreed with other things (Israel, Iran).
Like I said: SOME people here are incapable of distinguishing between similar things. Seems like you're one of those people.

No sane person is calling anybody who promotes masks or vaccines a Nazi.
Promote it all you want.
Anybody trying to FORCE vaccines on people or FORCE people to wear masks, whether through laws or ensuring that they lose their job and the ability to take care of themselves and/or provide for their family if they won't comply is a Nazi.
I predicted this was all going to happen a long time ago. People here said I was nuts.
Nope. The longer this drags out the more right I've been about everything.

The Senate Intelligence Committee's fifth and final bipartisan report investigated Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 election. This volume is primarily focused on counterintelligence threats and the wide range of Russian attempts to influence both the Trump campaign and the election.
https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/press/rubio-statement-senate-intel
-release-volume-5-bipartisan-russia-report
The committee found that Russian President Vladimir Putin was personally behind the hack and leak operation that published stolen Democratic Party emails, and that WikiLeaks — the website that published them — played a key role and "very likely knew it was assisting a Russian intelligence influence effort."
The Trump campaign sought to take advantage of those leaks by asking for advance notice of the WikiLeaks disclosures, crafting public relations strategies around them, and even encouraging "further theft of information and continued leaks."
This took place at critical moments of the 2016 campaign, the Senate Intelligence Committee concluded.
For example, when the Trump campaign was made aware that The Washington Post would be publishing a copy of the now-infamous Access Hollywood tape, word got to Trump confidant Roger Stone — who tried to get a message to WikiLeaks through an intermediary so that it would publish hacked Democratic Party emails immediately.
WikiLeaks ultimately published stolen emails approximately 30 minutes after the Access Hollywood story was put online.
Then Trump went on a wild and crazy tangent that had absolutely nothing to do with anything in the report, but distracted and confused the public so they would not read the actual report:
The Trump campaign responded to the Senate Intelligence Committee report by saying it was evidence that "there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign," adding its contention that the "Russia Collusion Hoax is the greatest political scandal in the history of this country."

Trump was less moderate than you. In his version of the "Truth", everybody, not just the CDC, was lying. The Media was lying. The Democrats were lying. The Doctors were lying. Why were they lying? To stop Trump from being reelected. Everybody was lying except for Trump says Trump. Ever wonder where Trump learned the "Truth"? From European History!
A "big lie" with roots in history
In rallies across the country, Trump continues to hammer on the fiction that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him.
Speaking at a rally in Georgia in September, Trump trumpeted his familiar, baseless claim that the election was "corrupt" and "rigged."
"I have no doubt that we won, and we won big," Trump said. "The headlines claiming that Biden won are fake news — and a very big lie."
A couple of weeks later, he repeated the fiction at a rally in Iowa. "We didn't lose," he insisted to a crowd that rewarded him with chants of "Trump won!"
By inverting the narrative, attempting to slough off the "big lie" and pin it instead on his opponents, Trump exploited an age-old tactic, says Yale University history professor Timothy Snyder.
"Part of the character of the 'big lie' is that it turns the powerful person into the victim," he says. "And then that allows the powerful person to actually exact revenge, like it's a promise for the future."
Snyder, author of the books The Road to Unfreedom and On Tyranny, has spent years studying the ways tyrants skewer truth. Snyder points to Hitler's original definition of the "big lie" in his manifesto, Mein Kampf and the ways he used it to blame Jews for all of Germany's woes.
"The lie is so big that it reorders the world," Snyder says. "And so part of telling the big lie is that you immediately say it's the other side that tells the big lie. Sadly, but it's just a matter of record, all of that is in Mein Kampf."
A lie that's become embedded in public opinion
Over the past year, Trump's lie that election fraud cost him the White House has become firmly anchored in public opinion.

Trump bought the course in Virginia — now renamed the Trump National Golf Club — back in 2009, and got to work getting it up to The Trump Standard. That included building a flagpole along the river complete with a plaque commemorating the "River of Blood," a dramatic name for a harrowing event that never happened. But the plaque begged to differ:
"Many great American soldiers, both of the North and South, died at this spot," the inscription reads. "The casualties were so great that the water would turn red and thus became known as 'The River of Blood.'"
This actually sounds like it was dictated by Trump, who in a phone interview with the Times called himself "a big history fan." Reporters from the paper told him they'd spoken with multiple local historians, all of whom said there was no Civil War battle within 11 miles of the plaque. The exchange that followed was quintessentially Trumpian:
"That was a prime site for river crossings," Mr. Trump said. "So, if people are crossing the river, and you happen to be in a civil war, I would say that people were shot — a lot of them."
People crossed there, so surely, if there was a war, people were shot while crossing. It just makes sense. But he continued:
"How would they know that?" Mr. Trump asked when told that local historians had called his plaque a fiction. "Were they there?"
How else could they know? It's not like there are writings and contemporary accounts from the time, and anyway, who would read them?
Mr. Trump repeatedly said that "numerous historians" had told him that the golf club site was known as the River of Blood. But he said he did not remember their names. Then he said the historians had spoken not to him but to "my people." But he refused to identify any underlings who might still possess the historians' names.
"Write your story the way you want to write it," Mr. Trump said finally, when pressed unsuccessfully for anything that could corroborate his claim. "You don't have to talk to anybody. It doesn't make any difference. But many people were shot. It makes sense."

He's probably trolling you.
If Democrats can make up bullshit history like the 1619 Project, let's just all lie about history and make it whatever we want it to be.
Did we land on the moon? Who knows? Who gives a shit.
Did anything in the Bible actually happen? Who knows? Who gives a shit.
Did the Civil War really happen? Who knows? Who gives a shit.
Maybe it was really the River of Blood because that's where all the women went to bleed out before Earl Haas invented the tampon because he got tired of his wife bleeding all over everything.

According to my nurses, the hospital is very short-staffed. Part of that is holiday vacations but part of that is an upsurge in "cases", mostly Omicron.
Nobody has been hospitalized, as far as they know, but being medical professionals with positive test results, they have to isolate at home. Of course, they mandate hand sanitizing and paper masks, but that doesn't seem to stop Omicron. For me, I still wear my N95s whenever I go out.

We live in post-truth society. A lot of folk will tell you that this is a new phenomenon, but I'd wager that it's been going on for longer than most if not all of the oldest living people were first born.
There is no reason to believe that anything we learned in history class in school ever happened. Every 5 years the history books become completely unrecognizable to the high school class that came before them. Sure, it's gotten completely out of hand in recent times, but this is nothing new. And what does it really matter at all if the history you were taught when you were in school was just a bunch of made up bullshit anyhow?
History is something that we are all doomed to repeat on an infinite loop.
TPTB are fully aware of this, because they made it so.
And don't trick yourself into thinking for a second that those days are over because we have so much video footage of things today.
We see everyday how easy it is for that to be erased if it's against the current narrative.
And with deep fake technology becoming so believable, you're not even going to be able to tell lies from reality on any of the video footage you watch.
We may already be at that point now.
Look at what some talented people can do to footage from their basements:

Well, if you look at the Bible or any of the Sacred Texts, I guess you can say "post truth" has been going on for Millenia! OUR sacred texts happen to be the M$M, TV shows, and social media! They tell us what is happening, what our society looks like, what is important... all (mostly) falsely, I'm afraid.
It is a rare person indeed who tries to look beyond that.

T-Cells "Minimize" Damage Caused By Omicron, Studies Show
by Tyler Durden
Thursday, Dec 30, 2021 - 12:20 PM
Two new studies - one from Erasmus University in the Netherlands and one from the University of Cape Town in South Africa - have just reminded humanity that our antibodies aren't the last line of defense against COVID, and its newest variant, omicron.
Both have confirmed that T-cells, what Bloomberg describes as the body's weapon against every virus-infected cell, have shown a surprising ability to defend against omicron.
The report goes on to explain that T-cells are the reason why mortality hasn't increased alongside the advent of omicron: with or without vaccines, the human body still has a tool in its toolkit to suppress viruses like these. The T-cell's most critical attribute, when it comes to fighting viruses, is that they target the whole of the spike protein that viruses use to bind with human cells. Because of this, mutations that impact the spike protein (omicron was said to have 50 pertinent mutations in that department) won't help it evade the T-cell response.
For their study, the Dutch researchers looked at 60 vaccinated health-care workers and found that while their antibody responses to omicron were lower or nonexistent (compared with the beta or delta), their T cell responses were largely unaltered and still potent, "potentially balancing the lack of neutralizing antibodies in preventing or limiting severe Covid-19," according to the study.
The other study, from the University of Cape Town’s Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine, looked at recovered COVID patients, and those who had been vaccinated with the Pfizer or J&J jabs.
While antibodies didn't fare well, they found that 70% to 80% of the T-cell responses were able to suppress omicron.
Vaccines are helpful in that they help induce a T-cell response to the virus, according to the Dutch researchers. Overall, these results demonstrate that vaccination and infection induce a robust CD4 and CD8 T-cell response that largely cross-reacts with omicron, consistent with recent work from our laboratory and others on limited T-cell escape by Beta, Delta and other variants..."
The Dutch summarized the data from their study in a pair of figures, presented below:

Here's something to think about, dear reader, as the people in charge try to solve a problem with more of the same (ie more bosters for the already-boosted): immune protection has several layers. While antibodies block infection, T-cells kill infected cells, preventing the virus from spreading and causing more damage. Wendy Burgens, one of the authors of the University of Cape Town study, wrote on her Twitter account Virus Monologues. "They can’t prevent you from getting infected, but they can minimize the damage that comes afterwards," she said.
That's something to keep in mind.

There is much, much more to the immune system than "antigens". If anybody had bothered to listen to Chris Martenson's videos when SARS-Cov2 first reared its ugly head, they would know that. Altho Dr Martenson runs a financial website -originally dedicated to the concept of "peak [cheap] oil" his PhD is actually in pathology, and he explained a lot of basic concepts very well, including T-Cells etc.
Also, the role of HCQ as preventative and early treatment antiviral, and Ivermectin as early treatment antiviral. He also ripped to shreds an "official" anti-HCQ published in The Lancet which was full of obviously faked data, which was later retracted.
Since I used to review our raw data, as well as raw data and reports from other labs, I kind of geeked out on his reviews.

The pro-Vietnam War Texans were “Democrats” in name only. There was absolutely nothing about them that is recognizable Democrat at all. Confusingly, they were calling themselves “Democrats” only because of the Civil War. They voted for Nixon in 1968 and again in 1972. LBJ, being a Texan, went into Vietnam to please these Texans, but that was political foolishness on his part. Since LBJ had displeased Texans on everything else, he should have just displeased them on Vietnam, too. These Texans which LBJ was trying to please eventually started calling themselves Republicans or, more often, Independents, but their politics and beliefs about government and race and women and immigration and killing foreign civilians and every subject imaginable has always been pure Confederate. That is not a compliment. They have not done well financially or spiritually or professionally or maritally or any other way since they stopped being nominally “Democrats” and they hate real Democrats and blame them for everything that has gone bad in their personal lives. Very much like the crazy Confederates hated Lincoln and the Republicans, the 2021 crazy Confederates hate Biden and Democrats, and for the same reasons – their beliefs are crazy, they believe themselves superior, they aren’t doing well and they have to blame that failure, absolutely have to, on somebody other than themselves.

This study shows that vaccinated individuals retain T-cell immunity to the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant, potentially balancing the lack of neutralizing antibodies in preventing or limiting severe COVID-19. Booster vaccinations may be needed to further restore Omicron cross-neutralization by antibodies.
Quote:
... neutralization of Omicron was observed or restored in all boosted individuals ... An increase in S-specific T-cells was also observed after booster vaccination of mRNA-1273(Moderna)-primed participants.
And here's the preprint SA study.
Quote:It indicates infection and vaccination both create T-cell immunity.
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.26.21268380v1
These results demonstrate that despite Omicron's extensive mutations and reduced susceptibility to neutralizing antibodies, the majority of T cell response, induced by vaccination or natural infection, cross-recognises the variant. Well-preserved T cell immunity to Omicron is likely to contribute to protection from severe COVID-19, supporting early clinical observations from South Africa.
Overall, these results demonstrate that vaccination and infection induce a robust CD4 and CD8 T cell response that largely cross-reacts with Omicron, consistent with recent work from our laboratory and others on limited T cell escape by Beta, Delta and other variants. Despite extensive neutralization escape against Omicron, 70-80% of the T cell response is preserved. The limited effect of Omicron’s mutations on the T cell response suggests that vaccination or prior infection may still provide substantial protection from severe disease.

By the way, there are states that did not join the Confederacy, Tennessee and Kentucky, that shared all the beliefs of Confederates, but didn't go to war. In reality, very few Confederates, as a percent of the population, went to war, yet they shared the same beliefs with the more energetic warriors. With them voting in the 21st Century, they can certainly vote America back into 19th Century. The Neo-Confederates learned a lesson from the Old Confederates that controlling the Federal government can only be done if you don't withdraw from the Union. It has become obvious to the Neo-Confederates that voting is more powerful than withdrawing and sulking that their Confederate values are disrespected b

P.S. One of the biggest differences in the Democrat and Republican parties is that Republican's haven't let the fringe racist element on their side run the party, and has done a great job over the last 3 or 4 decades relegating them firmly on the sidelines and burying them in dirt.
Democrats, on the other hand, embraced, emboldened and elevated the fringe racist element on their side on platforms, and they now run the party.
Quite a few missteps in that plan though, however.
The biggest two I can think of?
1. The hubris in assuming that black people were Democrat cattle and would always vote Democrat despite the fact that they get nothing out of it (best case scenario).
2. Lumping Latinos in under the branding of POC (People of Color) and then assuming that LEGAL Latino citizens were on board with open boarders and amnesty for all ILLEGAL Aliens.
Democrats are done. For a long, long time. These were fatal mistakes. Especially losing the Latino vote which was always assumed to be a sure thing in the Democrat party.

Let Omicron Spell the End of the Pandemic—and the COVID Shaming

Quote:
The Omicron variant of COVID-19 put many people's holiday plans to rest. Just when we thought we were done with the pandemic, it roped us back in. Mercifully, according to the CDC, this variant is milder than all other forms. But the rapid proliferation of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, especially in North America, means that pretty much everyone you know who hasn't had COVID-19 will likely be getting it, no matter how many vaccines they have had, or how hard they have tried to prevent getting it.
I told you so.

Good luck with the potential side effects of a vaccine you took that didn't do anything for you.
Should have waited it out.
Quote:
Why the need to go into detail about never having sinned? Some are saying the quiet part aloud: "There is a strange feeling of shame and embarrassment around us getting covid," as one person admitted. "We did everything we thought was right to avoid it- masks, tests, vaccines, boosters- and we still got it."
"As an ultra-cautious, triple vaccinated, always-masker I was shocked and very afraid," another tweeted. "To my surprise, I also felt ashamed. And embarrassed. How could *I* have let this happen? How could *I* have put my family at risk?"
These people want you to know they are the "good" Americans, those who wear two or three masks, didn't see family, travel or socialize for two years, and didn't leave their houses. "We did everything right," followed all the rules, and still got it!
No shit, stupids.
You're fucking sheep and you were lied to again by the people who lie to all of us all the time.
I'd tell you to learn from this experience and not let it happen again, but who knows? It might just have been past the point of no return for you to finally learn that lesson now. You may have just made a fatal mistake and won't benefit from that lesson anymore if you're not around in a few years because it took you too long.
So I guess just keep being stupid.
Good luck!

Quote:Pretty much describes my position.
To be sure, I am not saying that vaccination mandates are categorically wrong. Vaccination has the potential not only to protect your own health, but to protect others—and to advance the common good in a variety of ways. But support or opposition for a specific vaccine mandate depends on the specific facts: What is the risk of death or other serious harms with and without the vaccine? Who is most at risk? How much natural immunity already exists, and how long will vaccine protection last? What are the vaccine's side effects? Was the vaccine ethically produced? Are there other ways to reduce health risks? Are the mandate's goals well-defined? Is the mandate lawful? Does it respect religious, moral and medical conscientious objectors? How much social strife will result? One must weigh the costs and the benefits, with the burden of proof on the party trying to coerce others.
If there was a more-lethal disease going around, like - say, Ebola or Hanta virus or the Black Death and there was a vaccine that prevented transmission, even if only 50%, I would weigh the public health benefits and risks, and prolly weigh in on the side of a mandate. But not for THIS virus, and THIS vaccine.

Or maybe the Moronic variant is just the first side-effect of the vaccination.
You wouldn't have a fucking clue since The CDC keeps changing their estimates of who's got which one now.
If something bad is going to happen, it might as well be sooner than later.
At least I'd like to think that TPTB would put an immediate end to any vaccine mandates if people who were vaxxed started dropping like flies.

One Million Cases in a single day.
And that's only counting Democrats and Covid Karens that ran out to get tested after they got the sniffles.
This is great news.
Not only was I right that everyone is going to get it, but they'll find out for themselves soon that there's nothing to fear and we can hopefully put this all behind us soon.
There's zero chance they can fabricate enough deaths to make it look bad.
Too bad that those responsible for terrorizing everyone will never be held accountable.
Looks rather fortuitous that they named a new variant right before the bulk of people were going to get it so they can just say oh it's not bad now because it mutated.

JO, fwiw I addressed this paper already - in final form, published in Nature, rather than in pre-print form from the pre-print server.
So, to briefly quote a sentence from Jack's link(s) (Jack makes jerky!! - ha ha), and as you already surmised, the risk of heart problems from COVID-19 far outweighs the risk of the vaccination.
Quote:
Importantly, we also demonstrated that across the entire vaccinated population in England, the risk of myocarditis following vaccination was small compared to the risk following a positive severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) test[1]
In my original post http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?bid=18&tid=63473&p=55 that I quote below, I did summarize the risk results in what I think are easy-to-read tables.

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-021-01630-0.pdf
Although myocarditis and pericarditis were not observed as adverse events in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine trials, there have been numerous reports of suspected cases following vaccination in the general population. We undertook
a self-controlled case series study of people aged 16 or older vaccinated for COVID-19 in England between 1 December 2020 and 24 August 2021 to investigate hospital admission or death from myocarditis, pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmias in the 1–28 days following adenovirus (ChAdOx1, n = 20,615,911) or messenger RNA-based (BNT162b2, n = 16,993,389; mRNA-1273, n = 1,006,191) vaccines or a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) positive test (n = 3,028,867). We found increased risks of myocarditis associated with the first dose of ChAdOx1 and BNT162b2 vaccines and the first and second doses of the mRNA-127 vaccine over the 1–28 days postvaccination period, and after a SARS-CoV-2 positive test. We estimated an extra two (95% confidence interval (CI) 0, 3), one (95% CI 0, 2) and six (95% CI 2, 8) myocarditis events per 1 million people vaccinated with ChAdOx1, BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273, respectively, in the 28 days following a first dose and an extra ten (95% CI 7, 11) myocarditis events per 1 million vaccinated in the 28 days after a second dose of mRNA-1273. This compares with an extra 40 (95% CI 38, 41) myocarditis events per 1 million patients in the 28 days following a SARS-CoV-2 positive test.
We also observed increased risks of pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmias following a positive SARS-CoV-2 test. Similar associations were not observed with any of the COVID-19 vaccines, apart from an increased risk of arrhythmia following a second dose of mRNA-1273. Subgroup analyses by age showed the increased risk of myocarditis associated with the two mRNA vaccines was present only in those younger than 40.
Quote:
It's nice to finally have 'per capita' figures for cardiac issues from vaccines v COVID-19 disease.
To summarize things with commonly used names:
The endpoint was "hospital admission or death from myocarditis, pericarditis and cardiac arrhythmias", not any possibly temporary increase in a few test results, for example. In other words, the endpoint was serious heart events or death.
The observed time period was approximately one month after vaccination or infection.
The age range was 16yrs or older.
- ChAdOx1 = Oxford adenovirus vaccine
- BNT162b2 = Biontech/ Pfizer mRNA vaccine, 'Pfizer'
- mRNA-1273 = Moderna mRNA vaccine
- severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) positive test = severe COVID-19
All 4 groups had a study population of a minimum of a million.
All results are stated 'per million'.

Martin Luther began the Protestant Reformation, ancestor of today’s various Evangelicals, about 500 years ago. He had his own experiences with the epidemics that periodically raged through the Europe of his day. Luther chastised the ‘resisters,’ saying: ‘They are much too rash and reckless, tempting God and disregarding everything which might counteract death and the plague. They disdain the use of medicines; they do not avoid places and persons infected by the plague, but lightheartedly make sport of it and wish to prove how independent they are. They say that it is God’s punishment; if he wants to protect them he can do so without medicines or our carefulness. This is not trusting God but tempting him. God has created medicines and provided us with intelligence to guard and take good care of the body so that we can live in good health.’
Luther went on to warn that those who ‘make no use of intelligence or medicine…become a suicide in God’s eyes.’
Then he leveled the most serious charge against the ‘rash and reckless’ trying to ‘prove how independent they are,’ saying: ‘It is even more shameful for a person to pay no heed to his own body and to fail to protect it against the plague the best he is able, and then to infect and poison others who might have remained alive if he had taken care of his body as he should have. He is thus responsible before God for his neighbor’s death and is a murderer many times over.'
Thus spake Martin Luther, and through him, the Lord.

The Supreme Court can’t get its story straight on vaccines
The Court is barely even pretending to be engaged in legal reasoning.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court handed down a pair of unsigned opinions that appear to be at war with each other.
The first, National Federation of Independent Business v. Department of Labor, blocks a Biden administration rule requiring most workers to either get vaccinated against Covid-19 or to routinely be tested for the disease. The second, Biden v. Missouri, backs a more modest policy requiring most health care workers to get the vaccine.
There are some things that differentiate the two cases. Beyond the fact that the first rule is broader than the second, the broader rule also relies on a rarely used provision of federal law that is restricted to emergencies, while the latter rule relies on a more general statute.
But the Court gives little attention to substantive differences between the laws authorizing both rules. Instead, it applies an entirely judicially created doctrine and other standards in inconsistent ways. The result is two opinions that are difficult to reconcile with each other.
The NFIB case relies heavily on something known as the “major questions doctrine,” a judicially invented doctrine which the Court says places strict limits on a federal agency’s power to “exercise powers of vast economic and political significance.” As the NFIB opinion notes, the vaccinate-or-test rule at issue in NFIB applies to “84 million Americans” — quite understandably a matter of vast economic significance.
But, if this manufactured doctrine is legitimate, then it’s not at all clear why it doesn’t apply with equal force in both cases. As Justice Clarence Thomas points out in a dissenting opinion in the Missouri case, the more modest health workers’ rule “has effectively mandated vaccination for 10 million healthcare workers.” That’s still an awful lot of Americans!
What if the Biden administration had pushed out a rule requiring 20 million people to get vaccinated? Or 50 million? The Court does not tell us just how many millions of Americans must be impacted by a rule for it to count as a matter of “vast economic and political significance.” And it’s hard to draw a legally principled distinction between 10 million workers and 84 million.
Similarly, in NFIB, the Court notes that the agency which created the broad rule at issue in that case is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) which, as its name suggests, deals with health threats that arise in the workplace, and Covid-19 is not unique to the workplace. “COVID–19 can and does spread at home, in schools, during sporting events, and everywhere else that people gather,” the majority opinion notes.
But, as the three liberal justices point out in dissent, OSHA regulates threats that exist both inside and outside the workplace all the time, including “risks of fire, faulty electrical installations, and inadequate emergency exits.” It’s not at all clear why Covid-19 is any different. And the only explanation that the majority opinion gives — that a vaccination “cannot be undone at the end of the workday,” unlike the donning of fire-safety gear — applies with equal force to both the OSHA rule and the narrow health worker’s rule that the Court refused to block. Doctors’ vaccinations can’t be undone any more than an office worker’s can be.
The Court, in other words, appears unable to articulate a principled reason why some vaccination rules should stand and others should fall.
In the past, when the Court was unable to come up with principled ways to separate good rules from bad ones, it deferred to the federal agencies that promulgated those rules. The Court reasoned that it is better to have policy decisions made by expert agencies that are accountable to an elected president than to have purely discretionary decisions made by unelected judges with no relevant expertise.
But the one thing that is apparent from NFIB and Missouri is that this age of deference is over. The opinions suggest that th

Yeah. Tell me about it.
Here's three lies:
1. Sotomayor straight up lied and said “Those numbers show that omicron is as deadly and causes as much serious disease in the unvaccinated as delta did. … We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition and many on ventilators.”
CDC Director Walenski said 5,000 children with covid were in the hospital. The vast majority of them were admitted for something non-covid related.
2. Kagan said "Workers have to get vaccinated so that you’re not transmitting the disease that can kill elderly Medicare patients, that can kill sick Medicaid patients. I mean, that seems like a pretty basic infection prevention measure.”
This is either a lie or she's just stupid. Not even the media or Pfizer's own CEO is not spreading the falsehood that getting a vaccination prevents spreading Covid anymore.
3. Breyer said that the day before 750 Million new cases of covid happened yesterday, even though there are only 330 Million people in America.
Either that's the stupidest thing a Supreme Court Justice has ever said, or he's got the real numbers of Illegal Aliens that Biden's let in and our population more than doubled in the last year.

Corbevax’s clinical trial data has yet to be released due to resource constraints, but Texas Children’s Hospital said the vaccine was over 90% effective against the original Covid-19 strain and over 80% effective against the Delta variant. The vaccine’s efficacy against the Omicron variant is currently being tested.
Biological E, an Indian pharmaceutical company accustomed to producing hepatitis B vaccines with Texas Children’s, has already produced 150m doses of the new Corbevax vaccine and will soon be able to produce 100m doses every month.
Crucially, storing the Corbevax vaccine only requires standard refrigeration, unlike the Pfizer vaccine, which requires ultra-cold storage in transit.
After being overlooked by government organizations for funding, the developers behind Corbevax relied on philanthropic donations to get them over the finish line. The Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development is an academic and scientific institution in nature, but developing Corbevax had forced them to stretch their resources in order to gain visibility as a serious candidate for Covid vaccine development.
Drs Peter Hotez and Maria Bottazzi from the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development at Baylor College of Medicine, has been developing vaccine prototypes for Sars and Mers since 2011, which they reconstructed to create the new Covid vaccine, dubbed Corbevax, or “the world’s Covid-19 vaccine”.
Although more than 60 other vaccines are in development using the same technology, Bottazzi said their vaccine is unique because they do not intend to patent it, allowing anyone with the capacity to reproduce it.
“Pretty much anybody that can make hepatitis B vaccines or has the capacity to produce microbial-based protein like bacteria or yeast, can replicate what we do,” Bottazzi said.
“When you have a situation of such gravity around the world, you don’t pick and choose a solution – you try to use all solutions,” Bottazzi said.
Bottazzi hopes her move will incentivize others to follow suit and make affordable and accessible vaccines for other diseases and viruses, like hookworm.
“We need to break these paradigms that it’s only driven by economic impact factors or return of economic investment. We have to look at the return in public health.”

Everybody who wants the Vaxx has gotten the Vaxx.
Vaxx doses are expiring in storage without infecting the unwilling.
Hospital worker shortages are only caused by hospitals firing everybody who can think for themselves, everybody who is not a card carrying Libtard Lemming.
Plus those who were forced to vaxx are also vaxxed.
The remaining unvaxxed have chosen to be so.
So any mandate to get the Demonicron vaxx is for what?
The unvaxxed have already chosen the freedom to Live Free or Die. And they continue to have the freedom to change their mind, at any time. Without having any effect on the vaxxed.
What is the logical purpose to force anybody else to get vaxxed?

Comedian Kathleen Madigan's career is full of surprises as she navigates the unexpected that comes with touring from venue to venue and city to city, all with different Covid-19 protocols for hosting live entertainment:
I won’t say the name, but a big venue asked me what I’d like the (covid-19) policy to be. I’m like, “Sorry, you dialed the number of a lady who was a waitress until she decided to become a comedian.” I shouldn’t be deciding public health decrees. Don’t you have a public health department? Try the mayor’s office. Or if you want a comedian, try Dr. Ken. He’s an actual doctor who spent 185 years at Duke. He’s a real doctor. You’re going to leave this up to me and some country singer? What’s happened to us? The breakdown of who’s deciding (expletive) has gone too far. I’m willing to admit, I’m a moron on this subject matter. Why won’t they believe me? I’m telling you: I do not have any information on this. The problem is there’s no consistency. I was telling Ron White, who’s my little buddy, it’s like when you have a dream and there’s no segues. One minute you’re fishing at the pond and the next you’re at a shopping mall in the ’80s. That’s how one day on the road seems right now. You leave a city in a serious lock-down and get to a casino gig and it’s game on, like COVID never happened there.

That's pretty much what I posted to MD, that Omicron could be a blessing in disguise - essentially nature's vaccine (like cowpox was to smallpox).
I've been kind of harping about what **I** think would be the ideal sequence of vaccine types for developing good immunity, starting with artificially synthesized, pure, non-infectious pieces as injections and working your way to killed or attenuated total whatever - virus, bacteria, fungus - as mucus-exposed surfaces.
The fact that SARS-CoV-2 spike protein doesn't cross-react with the 'common cold(s)' but that its internal proteins do just indicates to me the spike protein has been messed with (gain of function).
One thing this video kind of glides over is how recently your common cold has to have been, probably a maximum of 18 months, to have any good effect. That's one of the things about coronavirus colds (specifically, distinct from rhinovirus colds, etc), is that immunity is short-lived. That's one of the reasons why there's no vaccine for 'the common cold'. I'm not sure how he squares the short-lived immunity against colds, even with T-cell immunity to nuclear envelope protein, with his hope for long-term immunity against SARS-CoV-2. Why does he think the SARS-CoV-2 immunity to that protein would be any longer lived?
And finally, while he may think natural immunity is superior, for many people - closing on a million in the US - the trip to getting natural immunity was a fatal one.
NOTIFY: N | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME
I hadn't realized that immunity to the "common cold" was that short-lived. I assumed that the only reasons why there was no "common cold" vaccine was bc a) the virus mutated so rapdily and b) the illness was so inconsequential as to make it not worthwhile.
So unless everyone gets Omicron in an 18-month period and there is no more reservoir of SARS-Cov2 anywhere in the world, we may be in for a fifth, sixth, etc wave two years in the future?
Awesome ....

It's hard to say. Other SARS and MERS seem to have good immunity that can last years and years, maybe decades. And SARS and coronavirus colds aren't the same kind of virus, just ones in the same general family that can cross-react. (Maybe their immunogenic relationship is equivalent to the differences between humans, gorillas, chimps and so on.) So the immunity characteristics of the common cold aren't directly translatable to SARS-CoV-2, imo.
Maybe what he's saying is that the nuclear envelope protein might be a good candidate as either a stand-alone vaccine or as an addition to it. And he's saying that because that protein from the common cold cross-reacts with that protein from SARS-CoV-2 and provides some protection. (Though he did glide past the fact that immunity to the common cold doesn't last very long despite immunity to the envelope.)
FWIW I'd prefer to get at least some of my vaccine immunity as immunity to the spike protein, because it's a 'neutralizing' antibody. (A 'neutralizing' antibody disables the virus such that it doesn't enter cells.) I personally would prefer the nuclear envelope protein component as an addition to a spike vaccine, not instead of it.

Well... I just found out that my brother and his wife sold my niece out and forced her to take the jab last week so they wouldn't be inconvenienced and not be able to go on an upcoming cruise that requires them.
She developed Covid two days ago, after the vax, and gave it to my brother and his wife, both of whom have plenty of reasons not to want to have covid because of their lifestyle choices.
Hope the cruise was worth it. I hope they at least get to go on a cruise again.

In Christmas 2020, no. Following Company Christmas Dinner, all but 2 attendees got covid, and got tested. And they all blamed me as the source. None of them had a doubt I had it.
Sept 2021, no. I was able to recognize it by then, didn't feel need to provide gov paper trail.

The re-unification rate is about 1pct. In other words, of 100 people who've had Covid, 1 may get reinfected later. To have that happen twice might mean that your immune system isn't working as well as most.
But that also puts a ding in the reputation of "natural immunity" and "herd immunity" being the answer to the pandemic.

The good news is, if your brother and sister in law were vaccinated at least three weeks ago, then they are unlikely to get very ill. And if they caught Omicron, then the risk of serious illness is virtually non-existent.
Altho I'm sure you're convinced your niece's ears and nose will fall off some time in the future, or some such.
