Hi everyone! I just finished my last exam of the semester and drove home with my 6 speaker Bose system cranked and started wondered what you all have in your cd players/tape decks/MP3's/8-tracks right at this very moment.
I'll go first: (Here's what's in my car)
1) Junkyard--Eponymous
2) Junkyard--Sixes, Sevens and Nines
3) Sidewinders--Auntie Ramos' Pool Hall
4) Three Doors Down--Away From the Sun
5) Los Lonely Boys--I forget the name of the cd, because I've never had it out of my cd player since I purchased it, but it's the one with "Heaven"
6) The Cult--Firewoman (cd single-that song just does it for me)
At home I have:
1) Metallica--The Black Album
2) Bobby Darin--Mack the Knife
3) The Jesus and Mary Chain--Head On (single)
4) The Subdudes--Eponymous
5) The Subdudes--Lucky
Ok! Your turns!

Oooo...good question!
Unfortunately, I do a lot of mixes. So, right now, at home I have Harry Connick Jr's old Christmas album, and in the car I have a mix with everything from "Dance Magic Dance" from Labyrinth, to "Breathless" by the Corrs, to "Headstrong" by Trapt, to "The Gambler" by Kenny Rodgers. My tastes are pretty eclectic. That one was just designed to keep me awake, so it's got songs I can sing along to. :) I currently have Evanescence in my computer.

So many things on these CDs make me think of Firefly. When I saw them in DC in October, I asked them if they had ever seen Firefly. The guitarist Steve Rothery said that he had and liked it quite a bit. "Especially the girl that pretended to marry the captain and then tried to take over the ship." Yeah, I like Stavesacre too. I bought their "Friction" album when it first came out. I was just curious after seeing their first music video. Plus I liked a lot of the bands of Tooth & Nail records, when they were with T&N records. I thought they were like Creed only better. Their "Absolutes" CD is their best, I say. I think it's called "Absolutes", someone stole it from me a few years ago along with 37 of my other T&N records cds but it's the one whose album cover is red and is in a cardboard-"type" CD case, I just don't remember exactly what it was called. But I think it was "absolutes".

On a side note, Browncoats should love the song "Dragonfly" - sing it as "Firefly" and it sounds like your singing about Serenity:
I will never let you down
I will always be around
In the time we are here
We'll see love disappear
Don't ask how
Don't ask why
Just fly, Firefly
Just fly, Firefly
I will never bring you down
I will always stick around
I will heat you when you're cold
In the time we have left
We'll raise eyes to the sky
Don't ask how
Don't ask why
Just fly, Firefly
Just fly, Firefly
Don't ask how
Don't ask why
Just fly, Firefly
Just fly, fly, fly Firefly

TWG!
I've got both versions of that CD: with and without the "Ode to Tipper Gore." Which do you have? THE best song on there is Uncle Tom's Cabin. That just rocks, even after all these years.

Okay, I have one of those shower radio/CD players. Currently it has a Boys II Men CD in it. There's something about singing "I'll Make Love to You" in the shower every morning that makes my day start off with a smile.

Hmm let's see I have a few in rotation right now. The Shins-chutes too narrow, Ted Leo-shake the sheets, and The Decemberists-castaways and cutouts, which is very good for this time of year I find.

Mal,
w/out Tipper.
At work Tuesday night, somebody put the wrong satellite station. How do I know? I heard Cherry Pie, Living on a Prayer, and Let's Get Rocked...then the other manager changed the station. I was having fun. *pout* Memories, in the corner of my mind....
rock on!

House stereo: Muse (Absolution)-- I am so frickin' obsessed with this album right now
Car stereo: System of a Down (Toxicity)-- I love the nonsensical lyrics (singing to myself) "wide are the eyes of a horse of a jet pilot...." It's perfect for being stuck on the beltway.

Hi WellHereIAm!
Welcome to our home-away-from-home-while-still-in-our-home site. I didn't notice any obvious screw-ups, so I'm sure you did fine. But I'll be watching, just to make sure.

Well, nothing's in my CD player right NOW.
But if I'm listening to music, most likely you'd hear Def Leppard (as I'm a huge fan, any one of their albums would be playing), the newest Duran Duran (Astronaut - it's really good!), or the newest Heart (Jupiter's Darling) CD.
I've recently gotten hooked on the new Kelly Clarkson CD. Walk Away is a great song!

I don't listen to music much lately, but my latest favorite has been "From Different Angels" by Ian Robb. If you like folk/Celtic, give him a try. The song "Garnet's Homemade Beer" is a particular treat, being an in-joke among the singer's friends (but plenty enjoyable to us outsiders as well), about a disastrous batch of homebrew made by one of his pals.

David SOUL? Hutch? The horribly-cast 'salem's Lot's Ben Mears? You wouldn't need your brain to kill me, that would do it!
