I will admit that I don't know enough about history to have an opinion on this yet. There is nothing in the constitution that limits terms for a President and that was all done well after the fact, but that may very well have been done for a good damned reason.

The problem is, because we're talking about Trump, I already know exactly what the media will be saying about it, and none of it will be helpful. But if it were Obama we were talking about running for a 3rd term, they'd be giving all the reasons the other side would be giving right now. Can't trust the media on either side of this one for sure.

The warning that I would give Republicans is two-fold here.

1. REALLY do your due diligence and research, and if knowledgeable chess-player types in your ranks feel that it is a bad idea to try to remove the barriers to the 2-term Presidency, then you DO NOT DO IT.

2. Be prepared to face off against Barack Obama in 2028 if you pull the trigger on this.

His star may have faded in recent years, along with the death of the Democratic Party compounding things. But if Trump or the DOGE Boys fuck something huge that can't be un-fucked before the election, Barack Obama is going to come back with a Vengeance. And that is an outcome that could have been entirely prevented if you didn't open the door up for Democrats to run somebody for more than 2 terms as well.

They have nobody else that they can run in 2028. Even if things look bad for American's outlook on the future 3 years from now, anybody they've got is still going to be an extremely hard sell. That all changes if you allow Barack Obama back into the race.

Hope you're all thinking this through far more than your average Democratic Party politician would.

The days of you idiots fucking the country up every four to eight years by gambling the future away for short-term political gains for either side needs to finally come to an end.

Individually, FF4 made around $20 Million. But that's only assuming that Disney didn't lie about the production budget as it has been caught doing many times before. Look to see what Bruce lists Disney's production budget on this movie next year and see if it is more than the $200 Million they claimed.

Superman is the only "winner" this year, but a profit of only barely over $100 Million for a superhero movie in any year prior to 2022 would have been considered a grand failure.

Well it just jumped from $103 Million to $112 Million overnight even though it only made $1.2 Million here on Tuesday. I probably shouldn't be making predictions on movies that are so close to the number I say it won't hit when I haven't been paying attention to internationals at all. I could be wrong about that after this big international bump.

It still needs $350 Million to break even and it's going to lose somewhere around $200 Million.

I'd say 2 Billion is pretty easy here. Basically a certainty at this point.

I'm wondering if it's good enough for repeat viewings that could get it to $2.5 Billion, despite the economy.

I'm thinking close to breaching $3 Billion and having a shot at taking the highest grossing slot from Endgame is probably not in the cards. If you don't count re-releases of movies, Spider-Man needs to make $2.8 Billion to win. But with inflation not being factored in that's not really even close to true. Avatar (2009)'s original run would be around $4.5 Billion today.

My old man saw it with my brother and said he thought it was just about if not as good as No Way Home, and that was his favorite Spider-Man movie. And he said it didn't have the other Spider-Men and nostalgia bait like No Way Home did, so it must be pretty decent for my dad to have liked it that much without the gimmick.

I didn't know until today that No Way Home was his favorite too. I know he really liked the Toby McGuire movies, and I just assumed those were always going to be his favorite like Batman 1989 is still mine. Maybe that's the difference between him seeing Toby Spider-Man when he was my age and I saw Batman when I was 10.

I don't believe this is a spoiler, but I know that opinion can be subjective, so you've been warned.

I asked him if they had any stupid magical mcguffins that brought Aunt May back or made MJ and his best friend remember who he was without having to put in any real effort and he said no.

From the little I gleaned so far, what I'm hoping is that they do another, lower budget Spider-Man movie after this one and have it take place somewhere in the 4 years between the events of No Way Home and Brand New Day.

Those 4 years are just a little one paragraph blurb in the movie synopsis, and personally, that is the movie I want to see. I'm hoping they didn't jack this one all the way up to saving the world from some cosmic death ray or something.

He wasn't wrong. I live under zero illusion that this could happen to us, at any point in time.
