See Ted... I can point out lies from the side I voted for...
This? This is a lie.
Working Americans will soon get ‘very large refunds’ of up to $2K per household: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent
https://nypost.com/2025/12/11/us-news/bessent-large-refunds-of-up-to-2
k-per-household-coming-soon/
I got pissed off just reading that. We're not even close to balancing the budget and we're going to give out another huge fucking freebie?
But no. That's not even what's happening. Stupid fucking headline to frame it that way and make people expect to see something they're never going to see. Nobody is talking about cutting any sort of "Tariff Rebate" checks. All they're talking about is some fucking with the tax code, which is going to see Americans all over the country seeing huge fluctuation in how this pays out for them. If you didn't work, you don't get anything. There is no credit. This is just going to be deductions, and very likely not even any new ones since the BBB was passed.
At the very "best", this will be another handout to people with kids, paid for by people without kids. Plain and simple.
At the very worst, it means nothing at all. What the fuck does "Working Americans will soon get ‘very large refunds’ of up to $2K per household" even mean? Really?
NEWS FLASH: WORKING AMERICANS ALREADY GET UP TO AND EVEN ABOVE $2K PER HOUSEHOLD REFUNDS EVERY YEAR.
All I can say is that Trump had better be right about the economy. Especially if the healthcare blows up like the idiot elites are predicting (They're almost always wrong, but sometimes they do get things right...)
We managed to stop the bleeding caused by Joe and Kamala, but nothing has gotten any better for anyone in the last year.
Buying our votes isn't going to work. Especially if people are shelling out $8,000 to $12,000 per year per person for health insurance, who weren't doing that the year prior. And this dickhead saying stuff like this to make people think you're going to buy their vote and make them expect a paycheck coming in the mail soon that will never be delivered on is political suicide.
Like I said in my Scott Bessent is an Asshole thread, Scott Bessent is an asshole.

See how easy that was, Ted?
I've never seen you do anything like that. Not one single time.
All you do is toe the line. When you agree with something you're shoving clickbait in everyone's face.
But all the things that the Democrats do that really fuck with you...?
You put them all in a box, seal it off and compartmentalize it somewhere in your head so it doesn't interfere with all of the stuff you want to believe is true.
And this is why nobody has ever taken you seriously.
.... and give it 5 or 10 more years and you're going to go around telling everyone you know that Democrat voters never get sick, never get divorced, never had any vices or do anything immoral like Second does every morning to justify all the awful stuff he says every day out of the other side of his stupid face. You want to end up like that crazy idiot? Because that's where you're headed.
You see admitting fault with the people you voted for as a weakness. That couldn't be further from the truth. It takes strength and courage to point out the flaws and speak up when the people you voted in are doing stupid and/or evil shit. Because if we don't start doing that, we're all going to be doomed to riding on this see-saw until we're dead (if we're lucky) or enslaved if we're still alive.

More than 50 US lawmakers are retiring next year. Why?
Good morning: During an absolute blizzard of other news on Friday afternoon, two Republican lawmakers—Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York and Sen. Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming—announced they would not seek re-election next year.
That brings the total number of lawmakers who aren’t running for re-election to 52, according to Ballotpedia. The most in any election cycle since 2012 are the 54 who retired in 2018. This Congress is likely to surpass that total, perhaps by a huge margin (a lot of lawmakers will chat about their political futures over the holidays with family and, well, the tide seems to be going out, not coming in).

Democrat Renee Hardman wins Iowa Senate special election, denying GOP supermajority
Democratic candidate Renee Hardman won the Iowa Senate special election on Tuesday, preventing Republicans from regaining two-thirds control of the state's upper chamber.
Hardman defeated Republican candidate Lucas Loftin by nearly 45 percentage points, according to the election results, which showed that more than 95% of the votes were in by late Tuesday.

I'll answer this because it shows straight up you post uneducated bullshit.
comes from the internet, look it up clown.
"Barry Moore, who recently won Trump’s coveted endorsement, brought in around $582,000 between October and December and ended the quarter with $842,000 on hand. State Attorney General Steven Marshall, meanwhile, raised $328,000 over the same period and had $562,000 banked at Dec. 31."
Texas stunner: Democrat Taylor Rehmet flips Republican state Senate district Trump won by 17 points and the democrat won by 15 or so points. That's a 30 point plus flip.
Yet just a day before the race, Trump had heaped praise on Republican contender Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist and entrepreneur, on his social media platform, declaring that she would be “a GREAT Candidate and has my Complete and Total Endorsement.” A longer post came later, in which he urged Texans to get out and vote, describing Wambsganss as a successful entrepreneur and “an incredible supporter” of his Make America Great Again movement.

I'm very much looking forward to the mid-term elections. We're going to have so many more Republicans in those seats that we'll start getting even more done without any of you left in the way to do anything about it by that time.

Gen Z support drops
Born between 1997 and 2012, Gen Z played a crucial role in the 2024 election, helping boost Trump’s support among young voters and contributing to his return to the presidency.
In the early weeks of his second term, CBS News/YouGov reported that Trump held a net approval rating of +10 points.
A year later, his approval among young voters has reportedly plunged to -32 points.
‘Falling off that cliff’
CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten weighed in on the numbers, saying, “Look at this. Falling off that cliff. That is a drop of 42 points.”
CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten weighed in on the numbers, saying, “Look at this. Falling off that cliff. That is a drop of 42 points.”
He added, “My goodness gracious! This, as I said, is a very swingy group and it has swung very much away from Donald John Trump.”
Enten also referenced Gallup polling, which shows that a growing number of Gen Z Americans identify as Democrats or lean in that direction.
Public sentiment on the economy has also declined. A December 2025 AP-NORC survey showed that 67% of U.S. adults disapproved of Trump’s economic performance, compared with just 31% who approved.
That represented a decline from March 2025, when 58% disapproved and 40% approved.
Among Gen Z voters specifically, approval was even lower. A The Economist/YouGov poll recently found that only 26% approved of Trump’s handling of the economy.

I always say what that is. I've said many, many times what that is. And bit by bit you've been watching it all happen. It's like playing that old Snake arcade game and picking up meaningful wins here and there and watching the snake get longer and longer and longer. All the while, as things evolve and events take place, I make more predictions that end up coming true. Some within a day of me making them. Not little flag football wins like the ones your clickbait loves to brag about. Generational shifts. Current laws that have been ignored for nearly 20 years finally being enforced, while others being solidified that will change things for generations to come.
TL;DR is that you're about to lose the mid-terms and the next Presidental elecitons for reasons you can't even comprehend yet.
Not only is deportation about to soar to unprecidented levels soon, but illegal aliens will be removed, by law, from the census counts for state representation, after which an emergency census will be conducted before the next Presidental election and the map is going to look so different that even if Kamala won every so-called swing state last election she still wouldn't have had a prayer at winning the Presidency. She would have had zero path to the win in the General, and not a single news outlet would have been able to maintain their credibility and lie to you and tell you anything otherwise.
BTW...
CNN just did a poll on Voter ID. Did you catch it?
76% of black people are in favor of it, as are well over 80% of Mexican Americans.
Even 71% of the Democratic Party voters are in favor of it.
Just imagine how close to 100% all those numbers are going to be among all races and sexes of American Citizens when those in states that lost quite a bit of representation those illegal aliens use to give them also equates to a much smaller piece of the yearly American Pie that is doled out to each state based off of those census numbers as well. A hell of a lot less of that pie will be put on every individual tax-paying citizen's plate in states who are harboring illegal aliens than in those that aren't. And the more you've got, the even less there will be to go around.
And once SCOTUS finally weighs in on all the voting issues in June, there will be No-more en masse mail-in fraud ballots sent out. No more drop boxes. No more bringing in votes for other people or vouching for other people's addresses.
And all of that doesn't even take into account that projections for the next census right now are showing anywhere from a -9 to -17 seat loss for Democrats and a +9 to +17 gain for Republicans, due sheerly to how many people have moved from states with big blue shitholes in the center of them. Google it... I believe Axios are the outfit out there trying to paint the rosiest picture for you, even though they completely fail to do so with the truth they can't deny themselves.
Oh... and don't forget we're all going to get to watch Mandami fuck up every single day of the week from now until mid-terms too.

Democrat Chasity Verret Martinez wins Louisiana state House special seat in district Trump won
Louisiana Democrat Chasity Verret Martinez defeated her Republican opponent by double digits in the special election Saturday night for a state House seat in a district President Trump won by 13 points in 2024.
Martinez won 62% of the vote compared to 38% for her Republican opponent, Brad Daigle, according to unofficial results from the Louisiana Secretary of State.
The special election was held after its former state representative, a Democrat, was appointed by Republican Gov. Jeff Landry to be a commissioner for the state's Department of Alcohol & Tobacco.
Martinez's win is not a flip since Democrats already held the seat, but Republicans had seen it as a prime pickup opportunity since Mr. Trump won the district three times. Her win was a 37-point swing from the 2024 results, although the district has voted for Democrats at the state and local levels previously.
Martinez, a former Iberville Parish councilwoman who focused her campaign on affordability and local issues, was outspent by Republicans 3-to-1.
Her victory comes on the heels of the Texas 9th state Senate special election last week, where Democrat Taylor Rehmet flipped a seat in the largest Republican county in the country — a seat held by the GOP for over 40 years. While Mr. Trump won that Texas district by 17 points in 2024, Rehmet won his race by 14 points.
Republicans have not yet had any special election legislative pickups during Mr. Trump's second term. Democrats have flipped eight previously GOP-held districts in special elections since Mr. Trump took office.
Yup, loving it.

CNN data guru Harry Enten has warned that one of Donald Trump’s most critical voting blocs—Americans without a college degree—is rapidly slipping away, marking a dramatic reversal from the coalition that powered Trump’s past electoral success.
“Trump’s base with non-college voters is absolutely collapsing,” Enten said. “He’s underwater by 9 points. That’s a 23-point switcheroo.”

Analyst rocked as voters 'shift heavily' against Trump on key issue
Once one his strongest performing issues, President Donald Trump’s immigration policy has continued to tank among voters amid his administration’s chaotic immigration enforcement operations in Minnesota, and, according to a new poll conducted after the killing of Alex Pretti, has reached stunning new lows among voters that left one election analyst rocked.
“In these elections that are won on the margins, particularly in the swing states, independents are a really critical group,” said Marc Trussler, senior elections analyst for NBC News’ Decision Desk in the outlet’s report Wednesday. “To see them shift so heavily on one of the president’s key priorities is really telling.”
The chaos has dragged Trump’s favorability down significantly, with a private GOP poll from January revealing that a staggering 60% of independent voters rejected Trump’s immigration policy outright, a significant increase from when the president took office. And now, in the wake of two high-profile killings by federal immigration officials, those numbers have only worsened for Trump.

What independents think of Trump's recent immigration actions, according to a new AP-NORC poll
WASHINGTON (AP) — About 6 in 10 U.S. adults say President Donald Trump has “gone too far” in sending federal immigration agents into American cities, according to a new AP-NORC poll that suggests political independents are increasingly uncomfortable with his tactics.
Views of Trump's handling of immigration — which fell over the course of his first year — remained steady over the past month, with about 4 in 10 saying they approve of the president's approach. But the poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research also found that the Republican Party's advantage on Trump's signature political issue has shrunk since October.

Provision Trump supporters cite for nationalizing elections really proves he can’t: expert
William Galston, a centrist thinker and senior fellow at Brookings Institution, wrote in a Wednesday editorial that President Trump does not have the authority to nationalize elections. And the United States Constitution itself plays a big role in why.
“To clarify this issue, the place to begin is the Constitution — specifically, Article I, section 4,” Galston writes, quoting the relevant provision which states that election logistics “shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of choosing Senators.”
Concluding that “this language plainly divides authority over congressional elections between the states and the U.S. Congress, with no independent role for the president,” Galston moves on to Article II, section 1 of the United States Constitution “which vests the ‘executive power’ of the federal government in the president” and is cited by Trump supporters to justify him nationalizing elections. Yet according to Galston, this “cannot be cited as a source of ‘inherent’ power in areas where the Constitution has expressly placed this authority elsewhere.”
Ultimately Galston disputed Trump’s claim that he can nationalize elections under “the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States.” Instead, Galston argued, “the president has no independent constitutional authority to determine election procedures” and “his only authority is to enforce the laws that Congress has written and that he (or his predecessors) has signed into law.”

NBC News SurveyMonkey poll

Quote:
The
NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll (often referred to as the NBC News Decision Desk Poll powered by SurveyMonkey) is an online tracking poll used to measure public opinion on political candidates, policy issues, and approval ratings.
Here is what it is and why it has that name:
What it is: A collaborative polling effort, most notably active during the 2016 election cycle, designed to track weekly shifts in voter sentiment. It often surveys large, diverse samples (sometimes over 11,000 to 20,000+ people) to gauge opinions on topics like presidential elections and approval ratings.
The Partnership: It combines the news gathering and reporting power of NBC News with the online, rapid-polling technology of SurveyMonkey.
The Method: It is an online, non-probability poll. Instead of traditional phone calls, it uses SurveyMonkey's massive online platform to gather responses from individuals, which are then weighted to match demographic data.
Usage: The poll has been used to track major political events, such as approval ratings for Donald Trump in 2026, or election matchups between Trump and Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Yeah? How'd that NBC SurveyMonkey poll work out for you in 2016?

Gee... you mean a bunch of people who hate Donald Trump so much that they'd spend their days watching a network that hates Donald Trump and they'd take time out of their lives do a poll on NBC "News"'s website say they wouldn't vote for Trump?

This represented a -10% drop in total viewers and a -23% drop in the demo.
In relation to all the cable networks, CNN was in seventh place among total viewers. In the primetime demo, the network finished in tenth place, down from sixth. During total day, CNN remained in fourth place with total viewers and slid to seventh from sixth place in the demo.

Three surveys conducted in late January and early February all point in the same direction: more voters now believe Mr Trump is performing worse than Mr Biden.
A Harvard CAPS/Harris poll conducted Jan 28-29 found that 51 per cent of registered voters believe Mr Trump is doing a worse job than Mr Biden, while 49 per cent say he is doing better.
A YouGov/Economist poll conducted Feb 6-9 found that 46 per cent of US adults say Mr Trump is doing a worse job than Mr Biden, while 40 per cent say he is doing better. Seven per cent said the two presidents’ performances were about the same.
Similarly, a Rasmussen Reports poll taken Feb 2-4 – from a firm considered Trump-friendly – found 48 per cent believe Mr Biden did a better job as president, compared with 40 per cent who chose Mr Trump. Eight per cent said the two performed about the same.
Chris D Jackson, a Democratic political strategist, described the trio of negative polls as “brutal,” posting on X that “when even Rasmussen shows it, you know how bad things have gotten for Trump”. “Democrats should have stood and rallied behind Biden in 2024,” he added.

Even with all the Democrat Party cheating, they couldn't get that race-hustling, racist, DEI-Hire loser over the finish line, huh?
Race has been called for Talarico.
Fuck you, Jasmine. Go away now.
Trump's post about it...
Quote:
Jasmine Crockett Melts Down, Cries 'Disenfranchisement' After Dallas Chaos—Blames Republicans for Her Own Party's Problems
Fresh off a bruising Texas Democratic Senate primary on March 3, 2026, Rep. Jasmine Crockett took the stage at her watch party to deliver a classic sore-loser rant. Facing an uphill battle against state Rep. James Talarico—who held a slim lead as results rolled in—Crockett blamed Republicans for "targeting" Dallas County and insisted voters were deliberately suppressed.
“I can tell you now that people have been disenfranchised,” she declared, hyping up her crowd with claims of massive confusion that would delay results. “Unfortunately, this is what Republicans like to do. And so they specifically targeted Dallas County and I think we all know why.”
The so-called "chaos"? Dallas County Republicans ditched countywide vote centers for Election Day—reverting to traditional precinct-based voting under state law. Democrats had to follow suit, and some voters (accustomed to showing up anywhere during early voting) got lost and turned away. Hundreds were redirected, lines formed, and frustrations boiled over.
Democrats cried foul, got a local judge to briefly extend Democratic polling hours to 9 p.m., and Crockett crowed about keeping polls open. But the Texas Supreme Court swiftly stayed the order at AG Ken Paxton's request, directing any post-7 p.m. ballots be separated as provisionals. No grand conspiracy—just basic election rules and poor preparation from the left.
Crockett ranted that “we will not know the election results overall tonight” because of Dallas County's delayed "big dump of votes," warning her supporters not to expect her back that night. “I fully anticipate it won’t be until tomorrow.” Translation: If the early vote numbers don't look good for her in her home turf, expect more excuses tomorrow.
Classic Democrat playbook—when the votes don't break your way, scream suppression and hint at shady motives. Meanwhile, the real story? Voters followed the rules, polls closed on time, and Crockett's campaign is left grasping for reasons why the "second largest voter participation" county didn't deliver her the win she expected.
Stay classy, Jasmine. The people spoke—deal with it.

DALLAS — James Talarico is fond of saying that the “closest thing we have to the Kingdom of Heaven is a multiracial, multicultural democracy.” But Texas’ battle royale of a Democratic Senate primary feels far from heaven.
Talarico, a white state representative, is facing off with Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), who is Black, in a contest that’s turned increasingly bitter. It has ignited a fierce intraparty debate — with racial overtones — about what type of candidate Democrats need to nominate to win in tough places as they look to rebuild the racially diverse coalition that President Donald Trump shattered with his 2024 victory.
The only racism I see here is Politico continuing to chose to say lower-case "white" while saying upper-case "Black".

NBC "News": Rep. Dan Crenshaw loses to Republican primary challenger in Texas
https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/rep-dan-crenshaw-loses-republican-

Texas state Rep. Steve Toth defeated Rep. Dan Crenshaw in a Republican primary in Texas, NBC News projects, unseating Crenshaw after a race that centered on which candidate more closely aligned with President Donald Trump.
Crenshaw becomes the first member of Congress to lose renomination in the 2026 midterm election cycle.
Toth challenged Crenshaw — the lone GOP House member running for re-election in Tuesday’s primaries who didn’t have Trump’s endorsement — from the right, arguing that his foreign policy and immigration views did not sufficiently align with those of the MAGA movement. Toth, an ordained pastor, also secured a late endorsement from Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
Thank you for pointing out the TRUTH that Crenshaw was the ONLY GOP candidate yesterday that didn't get Trump's endorsement.
I saw idiot Ted claiming that Crenshaw being behind yesterday was showing more cracks in MAGA, because his brainrot clickbait told him so.
No, idiots. Crenshaw, just as I said before, is a piece of shit NeoCon.
Quote:
Crenshaw, who is in his fourth term, has at times bucked his party by backing aid for Ukraine and criticizing Trump allies for their claims that the 2020 election was stolen. But he sought to tie himself closely to Trump throughout the campaign in the solidly Republican 2nd District.
“If you think I’m not MAGA enough, then you’re not following me on social media, that’s the reality,” Crenshaw said in a February interview with the Houston Chronicle’s editorial board “If you don’t think I support Trump enough, then you’re not following me, you’re not listening to a thing I say. I’m out there defending his policies pretty hard and have defended them in extremely hard places in the past.”
Way too little, way too late, Dan, you weaselly little RINO fuck.
You're gone.
You're the first in a line of "Republicans" that Trump said were going to be primaried. Get your cyclops ass off my shiny rectangles forever. You can go have a good cry with Crockett.
Fuck Dan Crenshaw. Good riddance.

That has nothing to do with Republicans. They sat out the primaries like they always do.
This was two factions of your split Democratic Party coming out to do battle against one another. DEI, racists vs. what is hopefully a normal Democrat running against them for a change.
SPOILER ALERT: The DEI racists lost.
You are a loser Ted. Nothing but a big, fat, stupid fucking loser.

Unherd: Dan Crenshaw lost MAGA voters a long time ago
https://unherd.com/newsroom/dan-crenshaw-lost-maga-voters-a-long-time-
ago/?edition=us
Quote:
Rep. Dan Crenshaw’s decisive defeat in Texas on Tuesday is already being spun by the media as proof that the GOP is just a bloodthirsty Trump cult. This is an unhelpful narrative because what voters rejected in Crenshaw went much deeper.
A Daily Beast headline on Wednesday blared, “GOP Star Kicked Out of Congress Due to MAGA’s Desperate Midterm Push”. MAGA, for its part, was happy to take credit for the loss, with pundits noting on X that Crenshaw was the only House GOP incumbent without a primary endorsement from Trump this cycle.
In Texas’s second congressional district, just north of Houston, Crenshaw got pummeled by Steve Toth, who ran to his Right. With most of the votes counted, Toth appears to have upset Crenshaw by a gargantuan and unexpected 15-point margin. After a decorated career as a Navy SEAL, voters first elected the congressman in 2018 — and he immediately became recognized as a rising star in the party.
As a candidate, Crenshaw responded to Saturday Night Live mockery of his eye patch, covering up a battle wound that left him partially blind, by joining the “Weekend Update” desk with Pete Davidson to smooth things over. An MSNOW story accurately recalled, “The question at the time wasn’t whether he’d climb the ranks in GOP politics, but rather how high he’d go.” So sky-high were the congressman’s ambitions that he actually started hosting “Crenshaw Youth Summits”.
Now he’s gone, unable even to clear a primary hurdle. So what changed? As a New York Times analysis reported, Crenshaw “has voted in lockstep with President Trump’s second-term agenda”. But his demise is not just about Trump. It’s about the congressman’s open hostility to voters’ anti-establishment bent. Unlike establishment Sen. John Cornyn, who overperformed expectations in his Texas primary on Tuesday, Crenshaw’s breaks with the base became extremely personal. And frankly, a bit odd.
Crenshaw memorably threatened to “fucking kill” Tucker Carlson on a GB News hot mic last year. And in recent months, the congressman has been engaged in a nasty feud with his fellow Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan, whose podcast is enormously popular on the Right. Crenshaw threatened to sue Ryan and posted their private communications.
Ryan took issue with Crenshaw’s defense of congressional stock trading, which is widely disliked by voters on both sides of the aisle. Defending himself, Crenshaw once dismissed $20,000 as a minor amount of money and griped about his pay check. He also accused anti-interventionist Republicans of “wanting Russia to win” the war against Ukraine, and called popular MAGA lawmakers “grifters”.
Crenshaw’s voting record suggests he isn’t merely out of step with Trump. He is out of step with Trump’s voters. Many Republican voters are willing to give the president latitude on foreign policy negotiations and bouts of intra-party drama. They see those as part of the job. What they are less willing to tolerate are repeated defections from other figures in the party. In that sense, Crenshaw’s problem is not opposition to Trump so much as a pattern of breaks that voters instinctively distrust.
Political Science professor Brandon Rottinghaus at the University of Houston put it this way, “The foreign policy stuff definitely is the biggest crack, but the beginning of that crack was because Crenshaw didn’t significantly support Trump in the election fight.” It’s true that after the 2020 election, Crenshaw described claims of a “stolen” election as “a lie meant to rile people up.” It’s also true that this likely soured some voters on him.
But Crenshaw’s problems weren’t just about foreign policy and the 2020 election. They were about his desire to seem pro-Trump while refusing to stop insulting Trump voters. That doesn’t make for a clean-cut narrative about fealty to Trump, but it’s a more accurate picture of what actually happened.
Aside from the headline itself, this

Yup. He's going to endorse Cornin.
He's also likely going to replace Supreme Court Justice Alito or Thomas with Ted Cruz. I'm sure you're going to scream a ton about that when it happens.

Then he's going to tell Cornin to keep his spot, and give Ted Cruz's vacancy to Ken Paxton.

'This is staggering': Joe on stunning new midterm poll giving Dems wide advantage
POLITICO: Dems aren’t sure whether to actually spend big to flip Texas
I wouldn't recommend it.

Besides... we already know the Democratic Party is out of money. Most of their money laundering schemes have been obliterated by the Trump administration as well, and they no longer have any control over the printing presses.
So where the hell were they going to get that money in the first place???
Quote:
It didn’t take long for Democrats’ hopes of flipping Texas to dim.
Gee... You don't say....

Quote:
Enthusiasm remains high for the party’s Senate nominee, James Talarico, but national Democrats aren’t sure how far they should go to support him — particularly if Sen. John Cornyn emerges from the GOP runoff in May. Interviews with nearly a dozen high-dollar donor advisers and strategists poured cold water on the likelihood that the party would fully commit to the staggering price tag it’d take to finally flip Texas.
“No one’s taking Texas seriously,” said a Democratic bundler who, like most others, was granted anonymity to speak candidly about intra-party dynamics.
Among their concerns is that Cornyn did better than expected in the GOP primary against Attorney General Ken Paxton, and with President Donald Trump’s potential endorsement would be able to ease his runoff victory. Democrats planning for Talarico to compete against Paxton, a scandal-ridden MAGA darling, are instead facing the prospect of trying to oust a 24-year moderate incumbent in a state that hasn’t voted for a Senate Democrat in nearly four decades.
There are also competing priorities for national spending — just Wednesday evening, Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) dropped his re-election bid in a state Senate Democrats held as recently as 2018 — potentially elevating it as a target for spending.
Underlying it all, Democrats said, is the reality that contesting Texas would require a massive injection of cash — while there are other, cheaper options on the Senate landscape.
“We have to be practical about how we use our resources,” said Alex Hoffman, a Democratic donor adviser. “You need a perfect storm to kill a white whale, and if it’s going to be Cornyn [in the general election], then it’s not a perfect storm.”
Democrats have long dreamed of turning Texas blue. But the idea of flipping the state — much less retaking the Senate overall — appeared laughable last year, when the party hit new lows in its public polling and sustained sweeping losses in 2024. But a string of overperformances in off-year and special election races, combined with Trump’s own stubbornly low approval rating, have Democrats increasingly bullish about their chances.
“If I’m being super honest, Texas would not be within the reach of our boat here, as fishermen of the white whale, but for the wave moment we're in,” said Tory Gavito, a Democratic donor who leads the progressive donor network Way To Win.
Tuesday’s results gave them another boost when Talarico, a social media star and prolific grassroots fundraiser, easily dispatched Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas). He now has a head start on Republicans, who after already dropping $70 million to lift Cornyn, must continue battling it out for another two and a half months through a runoff — which some are predicting could cost upwards of $100 million.
Texas Democrats see this as the moment to strike. Gavito said Democrats have built to this moment, cycle after cycle. Back in 2014, when President Barack Obama won with a young, multi-racial coalition, Democrats believed it was just a matter of time before they’d eventually flip Texas, a youthful, diverse state.
But Trump, both in 2016 and

Not only is he going to bring down the rest of the party with him on election day...
But he's also going to ruin the careers and silence any person in Hollywood or the Legacy Media who endorsed him or had anything nice to say about him at all once America sees who he really is.

James Talarico, the newest Democratic candidate for the Senate in Texas, speaks with the moral authority of a 1980s televangelist and the intellectual depth of a freshman gender studies major at Oberlin.
Sure, enlightened leftists have long mocked believers of the Sky God as both irrational and anti-science. In truth, they’ve only been frustrated by the inability to appropriate Christianity to spread their distinctly secular morality. For decades, candidates come and go promising to “reclaim” Christianity for the Left.
Now, I’m not a Christian myself, but I’m not fond of frauds, either. And even I can see that the problem with Talerico’s pious rhetoric is that his faith doesn’t inform his political values, but rather, the reverse. It justifies his progressivism.
Talarico, for instance, infamously argued that God is “nonbinary.” I strongly suspect that most devout Christians would take issue with applying goofy neologisms to their Lord and Savior. Even now, Talarico insists that “most” people in Texas understand that God is “beyond” gender. Just ask the Apostle Paul who allegedly made the case in his letters to the Galatians!
If I could speak to Apostle Paul, who refers to God as the “Father” in Galatians while using masculine pronouns, I’d probably be more curious to know which of the six different sexes he was going to choose, the number the Texas representative came up with while opposing a bill prohibiting trans boys from playing in girls’ high school sports.
Talarico doesn’t prove modern progressivism is compatible with traditional notions of faith but rather that modern progressivism is more prone to embrace social science quackery than the average social conservative.
In Talarico’s worldview, gender is highly malleable in both nature and faith, but skin color is an immutable characteristic that predetermines not only a person’s thoughts and actions but his innocence and guilt — a view that undercuts the entire notion of free will and basic science.
“White skin gives me and every white American immunity from the virus,” Talarico once tweeted. “But we spread it wherever we go — through our words, our actions, and our systems. We don’t have to be showing symptoms — like a white hood or a Confederate flag — to be contagious.”
Did the saintly Talarico suggest to his constituents that the way to shake off the depravity of racism and embrace love was to find salvation in Jesus Christ? No. Talarico didn’t even bother lifting any snippets from Paul’s letters to Thessalonians to argue that white people are inherently racist. He told them the way to stop being a racist was “proclaiming loudly and unequivocally that #BlackLivesMatter.”
The Texan deserves some credit for embracing racial predeterminism even before the death of George Floyd drove the country into a spasm of lunacy and violence. Most of the time, though, he’s nothin

And again...
Just shows that Republicans have zero ground game when it's not a major election to compete with the teachers sending the kids home with flyers to vote in elections that nobody else even knows is happening.
It's how they got us to pay $300 to $500 more on our property taxes for the school district a few years back, by putting the referendum on a mid-term primary. If that vote were held on the mid-term or presidential General election, it would have lost 2 to 1.
Looks like it was also in one of the only counties in the entire country that voted in favor of Harris in the 2024 election, and Democrats won this by 5 whole votes.
Republicans really need to wake up on these special and off-season elections or they get what they deserve.
