Yeah....

Most of Ah-Ha's stuff that wasn't called "Take on Me" is pretty double plus ungood, and they're probably the least offensive.

Don't think I've heard anything out of them but "Take On Me."

But I was also thinking of the music at the beginning of the first Blade movie and the stuff in the second one where they were suppose to be in Prague. Yeah, no.

Techno is like Jazz to me. Not my thing. In some jazz songs I might be able to find a few notes that make sense but the rest is just noise. I can handle blues a little better. Jim Byrnes. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Yeah. I've only heard a few of them because of YouTube, but boy... I always knew they were a one hit wonder because that was one of my favorite songs growing up. Didn't even know they weren't from here and that English wasn't their first language. It's been a long time since I saw those videos, but I think it might be possible that the lead singer didn't even speak English and and they managed to do that. Pretty amazing.

But boy... anything else I've seen from them was not made for my ears.

It depends for me... and what the definition of Techno is. If it's got words, chances are I'm not going to like it, but there are some really cool instrumentals out there, IMO.

I hear you on Jazz. I really respect the artists for being good enough with their instruments that they can just make stuff up on the fly and riff off of each other, but I think I'd actually have to be really good at an instrument myself to be able to enjoy it. Jazz that hit the studio and got polished can sound pretty good, but the improv really isn't for me.

Never really listened to the Blues myself, unless you count The Babysittin' Blues from Adventures in Babysitting. Nobody in my life listened to it, so I really never got exposed to it. You find it yourself or did somebody you know turn you on to it?

I think this one is considered Techo, but I've always loved it.

First time I heard it was watching a 3D tech demo on a computer in Best Buy back in the mid-90's or so back when those graphics were mind blowing and the effect with this song was sort of hypnotic. I couldn't get this song out of my head but I didn't know who did it. I heard it on the radio a few years later and finally found out a guy named Robert Miles did it and I bought the single.

...

I always liked the one from the first Matrix movie too...

But yeah... Eurotrash Techno sucks...

Don't listen to it or you're going to have that song stuck in your head for a week.

I like "Take on Me." Always knew they were European and might have even heard that English wasn't their first language. I actually liked the video they did for the song. I have the song on cassette tape somewhere.

That is like Topol the lead actor from "Fiddler on the Roof" the movie version. The lead bowed out out of the stage version and he was offered the role in London, he had no English either and learned it from doing the stage play.

No, that is fair. We all don't like the same thing. Everything I've heard has no lyrics and so becomes as I said noise to me.

Like you said I can respect Jazz musicians that can sit down having maybe never met before and start playing together. It is great to listen to that. But a regular jazz band no. Like I said I might be able to find a few notes that strung together make sense but just noise. I never watched "Adventures in Babysitting", so I know nothing about it.

Jim Byrnes started writing his own music when he was working on later seasons of "Highlander". Duncan had a tape playing in his car and it was basically the song I posted here "That River." Fell in love with the song and went looking for the musician and I think I found the CD at my local library. Took it out and listened to the whole thing and was like Wow! This is some good stuff. So I bought the CD it is one of my favourites and I can listen to it over and over. I hope you have a listen to it. It is great, the rhythm of the song is so slow and it makes you feel like you are beside a slow moving river but it is talking about the Mississippi and Louisiana. There's other stuff you can find on YouTube that maybe more to your liking. Just look up "That River" and it will show you other songs from that CD.

These are good pieces you put up SIX. But to me the first one isn't Techno. It's more like heavy rock with that drum beat. The swirling sounds you get in it you can find in music from the days of disco.

The second one from the Matrix is good too. That is the first time I've heard any music from those movies.

Clubbed to Death has been around a while, it was around before the film and on other movies / shows / played at dance clubs it is almost Classical Baroque with its Cello type Baseline, add some 7th chord and sixth and minor notes, the Melody is not very Complex but its good, some nice harmony with a little bit of Chord Tension, the Electronic scene started to borrow samples from Classical music something someone in D minor in B minor or 'in C sharp minor' Adagio For Strings etc

The guys doing the music for those movies knew what they were doing some great Orchestra, electronic samples and 'world music' sound

Matrix Trilogy’s also takes prayer from India or Hindu Mythology

Sanskrit Mantra

Prayer from the Matrix

the hardship of his world is an illusion like a Hindi story so guided by Morpheus, who offers him a choice between the red pill (which reveals the truth about the Matrix) and the blue pill (which returns him to his normal life)...a theme in the movie saying lead me to truth.

Little Big Horn is a historical site down there. I hope to see it.

There is an old story and I don't know how much truth there is to it but I like it. It's said when the women went onto the field after the fighting besides picking up weapons, they were looking for Custer's body. Some had their sewing awls with them and when he was found they pierced his ear drums with their awls.

The rest goes that he wouldn't listen to us in this life but he will hear us in the next. That when we say No, we mean NO.

So what if it's been three months? That doesn't matter.

And keep your ethnic insults to yourself. You have NO RIGHT TO ANYTHING that has to do with my Native American blood. What's next Half breed? News flash that word doesn't bother me.

I will tell that I like ethnic music but must you be so moronic?

I really don't want to hurl insults and for the record NO Child has ever been beaten in my family. Oh, unlike yours I am sure.

NOW BUZZ OFF!!!!

My buddy who surprised the hell out of me and knew who Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros are gave me some bad news that they split a while back and got a divorce. I didn't google that to verify, so maybe it's not true.

To some it might take away some of the magic of their only song I ever knew that got radio play, and it probably really got to some of the people who owned their album and got into their B side stuff that nobody else ever heard, but I still love the song and probably would go back to listen to their album like I used to.

In an age of copycats and intellectual bankruptcy, I'm always down for stuff like this from the fringes that strikes a chord with me...

For a moment at least, those two really did love each other. More than most people probably have.

It's easy to get distracted by his good looks, but just looking at the different expressions on Gage's face, capturing what looks like mixed emotions, it seems he was a good actor too.

It was easy to get taken in by his good looks but I think he was a good actor.
