Haven't had internet until right now... I'm assuming I was right and it's not going to hit 3 Billion though, huh?

Yep. I was thinking no movie has made 3 Billion yet or come close…
But Avatar is really close with $2,923,710,708. Endgame is next with $2,799,439,100.
https://www.boxofficemojo.com/chart/ww_top_lifetime_gross
Avatar could still make 3 billion.
It made $76,012,917 in the 2022 re-release.

Yeah. I was surprised to see Avatar had made that much, but then I had Google AI tell me what it made in its original run and it wasn't quite that close to $3 Billion. I don't know how other people count it, but I don't believe that anybody should be counting re-release income to the total of a movie, at least not without a big asterisk next to it.
But the real crazy numbers come into play when you take some of the older movies and account for inflation. If everybody did that and were honest about it, there would almost be nothing to report on anymore. You may have seen me mention once or twice that no horror movie will ever come close to beating the Exorcist, which in today's dollars would have grossed over $3 Billion. You can't even get major blockbusters like End Game or Brand New Day to get there, so it will never happen with a movie in the horror genre. That's a record that will never be beaten.
Avatar was a while back, and no doubt would have grossed $3 Billion in today's dollars, but Avatar's production budget in 2026 would have been $369 Million to The Exorcist's $90 Million.

Using the same criteria as for movies, the greatest President in history is Donald Trump because he made the most money while President.
Top Ranking Presidents by Money Made in Office
• 1. Donald Trump: Earned billions of dollars in business revenue and investments while serving (reporting over $2 billion in a single recent annual disclosure, heavily driven by cryptocurrency and real estate holdings).
• 2. Bill Clinton: Increased his personal wealth substantially after leaving office, but saw notable income growth and book/speaking asset accumulation during his two terms compared to traditional salaries.
• 3. George Washington: As the first president, he received a salary of $25,000 per year (about 4% of the federal budget at the time), making him one of the highest-paid relative to the early national economy, and he actively managed and profited from his Mount Vernon plantation.
• 4. Standard Salary Earners (Most Other Presidents): Most modern and historical U.S. presidents relied strictly on the official presidential salary ($25,000 historically; later scaled up to $200,000; and $400,000 per year since 2001) plus standard expense allowances, without adding major outside commercial revenue during their active terms.

I don't think it's going to hit a billion in the US with that trajectory. It will have about $870 by this Thursday. A 50% drop this weekend would be slightly less than $20 Million. They'd have to leave it in theaters for a while and hope for repeat viewings to get it over that hill.

Tom Holland is on track to earn at least $100 million for starring in Spider-Man: Brand New Day to act broke, miserable, lonely, depressed, and traumatized while Trumptards do it for free.
How much for his previous Spider-Man jobs?
Captain America: Civil War (2016): $250,000
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017): $500,000
Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019): $4 million
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021): $10 million
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026): $100+ million
• Base Salary: He received $20 million upfront, double his $10 million base salary from Spider-Man: No Way Home.
• Backend Bonuses: He is earning roughly $80 million (and counting) in profit-sharing.
• Uncapped Structure: Crucially, his box-office bonuses are uncapped. Because the film shattered records by clearing $2 billion worldwide in just three weeks, his final payout will continue to rise as long as the movie remains in theaters.

Wow! It STILL hasn't crossed $900 Million?
Won't get that until today.
What a shame it was so front-loaded. First to $900 Million, but it's never going to hit a Billion.
I knew that a long time ago when I said as much, but I didn't realize that it was going to flatline like it did.
I wonder what happened here? Maybe it's not very good after all? No big repeat views or something? I know people who saw the last one 3 or 4 times in the theaters.
It made over half a billion in the US alone on week 1. It only made $30 Million in the US on week 5.

seems to be slowly running out of power but it had very good staying power
Wow so it got close to breaking 1 Billion US Domestic but it looks like it wont happen...unless they do some kind of a tactical re-release of the Spider-Man franchise just before Avengers remake
Nolan's remake of The Odyssey continues to limp along in second place
Japanese Akira from 1991 is back in the cinema and making millions
While these two films dominate with limited earnings a bunch of foreign movies are rising in the charts, Spanish, Chinese, German etc I did not know Australia was involved with Insidious Out of the Further 2026, movie Filipiñana is doing ok its a black comedy, small indie Film Festival movies get world wide cinema releases, The Sun Never Sets 2026 an indie movie from Alaska
a Japan cartoon from long ago is suddenly a big hit again
