Thank you so much for the links! I've just finished downloading the full-screen version. I don't think I'm gonna get tired of watching it any time soon.

Anyone have a bead on a non quicktime trailer? Windows Media perhaps?

Windows media?

You've got to be kidding.

Anyway Quicktime is the de facto standard for movie trailers so I wouldn't expect it. Plus it's included with OS X and a free download for Windows so it's not like it costs money or anything.

It should be in front of a movie friday if you can wait. I would assume Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy, but I could be wrong.

-----
...What I am discussing is whether one should make what is likely to be the case and is reasonably impossible in order to circumvent what could hypothetically done but is highly improbable in practice from happening because that would be unrealistic.

That's great except when you are stuck at work until midnight and the machine you are on is locked down so tight you can't install quicktime and the only thing I can play it on is windows Media and I'm DYING to see it.

You see my point...

So far as I understand, it will be playing with HHGTTG this weekend! And does anyone know the name/artist of the song that starts up as soon as River starts kickin' arse.

Oh...and if you cue the trailer to 1:25 on the full size version, you see why it's not always smart to fight in a dress. Actually, I paused it after 1:25 and ran the cue back.

Shame, shame, shame....

Don't suppose you noticed any quick-cuts where one of our lads' shirts accidentally falls off?

Hey guys, I just posted this on the other board, I think we need to continue to go to the Apple site and watch the trailer online. Apple is most likely tracking the usage and reporting to Universal.

Just a thought.

You can download the shareware version of Bink ( www.radgametools.com) to convert .mov to .avi.

Actually, Apple will be keeping a track of how many times the trailer is downloaded.

Viewing the trailer is the same as downloading it the only difference is weather it is downloaded to your 'temporary internet file' directory or a specific directory when you select 'save as'.

Also, you can bet that most fans of other movies like Star Wars or Batman used the same method to download their trailers as well.

Using direct links to download QuickTime trailer has been around as long as QuickTime it self. Have a look at this site below that is dedicated to providing direct links to all high quality QuickTime trailers.

Yeah, I caught myself watching the hi-def that I downloaded instead of going back to the Apple site. It got me thinking.
