OK. If you're looking for photos of Big Damn Heros, don't look here yet. My digital camera didn't function well enough; we're hoping that Sami's 35mm was able to capture the celeb panels and so on.

That said, I HAVE got some great pictures of Sami and other Browncoat conventioneers having a heck of a time at this past weekend's Starfury event. If you haven't seen a Wash-A-Saurus you need to click on this link, too!

Good Pics, to post in the Bluesun room, you upload the images from your PC directly - just use the `add pics` then browse for the actual photo file (e.g. IMG00329.jpg (If that`s your image name) & click Upload when you`ve applied a title & description text

Yeah, I like that too, but if I'd waited ONE SECOND more, Alan would be visible in front of the Wash-A-Saurus rather than behind it.

Still, glad everyone is enjoying the picture.

Oh and thank Zol for telling me what to do in the Blue Sun Room. The picture is there now (at least, I think it's the right one!)

Edited to Add: I'm feeling guilty about Bob's only picture, so I'm adding a couple of other pictures of the husband. Unfair that he didn't get to go to the Starfury Convention and none of you got to meet him. So, I've added a couple of Bob shots so you can see how much Sam resembles her Dad :-)

I think Clare who did the Wash`o`saurus , had a lot of stamin, she was in that costume for well over an hour and dieing of exhaustion - she did well, and deserved the honour of winning & meeting the `other` fans (namely the stars!)

I`m sure that Joss will have heard of this by now - So I think an honourable mention is due

Alan Tudyk (from what I could see from the Hall Doorway) was over the moon, his 1st con & what a send off!

And the thing I loved about the Wash-O-Saurus was Alan's reaction... how many times did he put his left hand to the side of his head and rub it and his hair?

That's a mannerism of Wash's that I've noticed must be something Alan does a lot. Especially during Q & A's!

Alan really does do that quite a bit, doesn't he? I guess it must be his 'thing'.

The fact the guests were almost taking as many photos as the audience were was great. I think it's another sign that they really loved being there - otherwise, why take photos at all?

Have to say I was sorry to miss you two at the event. I was locked up in the backstage area of the Green Room. I was hoping I would bump into you guys to say that I was the one who attempted to answer most of your questions on the boards! You HAVE to come back over so I can skip out of the room and say hi!

ps your photos are really shiny. As I lost 2 camera cards with over 200 photos it was great to see so many memories caught elsewhere.

I tried to put people's Firefly names in the descriptions of the photos, but sometimes I couldn't remember the aliases (and sometimes, I couldn't recall the the real names) and sometimes I just didn't know *who* those pretty people might be!

Please, if you're viewing my photos? And you see yourself unnamed, uncredited? Add a comment that identifies who you are.

I think everybody would appreciate conventioneer comments, in any case..yes?

Sorry, but daughter Samantha has a separate "cyberlife" involving her livejournals, her AIM and her "space" -- whatever that is. She doesn't *do* Firefly messages, however I have asked her to blog for us and send it to me for our 'boards.

As for "Who is Samantha?"
Good question to ask any mother about ANY teenager.

Thank you. Believe me, it's not the photos -- her mom's not a good photographer, and it's a cheap camera in bad lighting.

I agree. She's pretty.

Scarier yet: I think she's starting to realize that she's pretty. She's whining less about being ugly and fat since the Con. I'm glad and terrified in about equal measure... ;-)

I think you'll have a lot of people agreeing she's a pretty lass. Which is equally scary, I imagine. And you can see she really looks like her dad, too.

And I'm glad the con has had more than one beneficial effect on her... but how much of it can she attribute to Nathan Fillion?

Shiney, are you sitting down?

Those...Cadbury machines...are found throughout the London Underground System....every platform has them. Also, every convenience store in England has alotted half of its shelf space to Cadbury and other chocolates. They do things to milk chocolate that Hershey never DREAMED of. They have configurations of chocolate that you can hardly RECOGNIZE as chocolate! They somehow fit extra cream in their chocolate, and then they twist chocolate! They FLAKE chocolate! They inflate chocolate with air! They encase all their other foods in chocolate (with the possible exception of cabbage -- I don't think I saw that).

It's as if Willy Wonka renamed himself "Cadbury" and is secretly running the entire United Kingdom.

So, if you do get enough money to go?
Remember to budget for Cadbury.

(If I didn't do that when taking Sami to the UK, we'd end up living curbside, without a hotel room, and making up blankets from Cadbury wrappers...)

Seriously, just got back from a trip to New York and my suitcase was full of the stuff - it's an addiction! In fact, I even bought an "I love my Reese's Cups" t-shirt - you don't see those on Cafe Press now do you? (actually, you probably do).

I just joined and wanted to say hi.

I was the guy wearing the T-shirts with aircraft on them and the CTU one (and looking like he was about to expire from heat exhaustion.)

Those photos are great and a lot better than mine.

I had a fun weekend and it was nice to get to meet some of you, even if only briefly, er, I mean it was nice to meet all of you, well, obviously I didn't meet all of you, er...

I think I need to go lie down somewhere. ;)

Looks like a fun time was had by all! I've never made it to any major cons, though I've had housemates who were quite avid. It appears that I'm really missing out!

I'm mostly a costumer (not a cosplayer... yet, anyway), so it's wonderful to see all the costumes people have put together!

And yeah, we have vending machines for EVERYTHING here, mostly cause we're lazy as hell. Try going to the Alton Towers theme parks - you can get creme eggs, ribena, hot chips (fries, except they aren't fries because fries are thin, greasy, and nasty), and everything from them...

Oh I *almost* bought Serenity Squared tickets, but I had to be realistic. There's no way I can afford TWO trips to the UK in one year. Especially not with the dollar worth less and less every single second.

Next summer we're supposed to go to France, for a wedding. Maybe we can catch up at a French Firefly Convention, if we're lucky, eh?

You should talk! I hear from the I-Con folk that you changed your hair AND sometimes didn't wear a orange hat either.

Don't worry: Bob will have the beard again by October, and you're unlikely to see him before then because he's busy running his store so his crazy wife and daughter can run around to conventions. Such a nice man (did you see? I brought him Scotch!)

This was my older camera - my new camera hasn`t arrived yet I wish I had it then because the photo would have been even better!

Simple answer: AWFUL. Every single one. Well, bar a few of the people around me in the foyer, and one good one of Zol. The rest all suck. All from being in a bad position and not having enough zoom (x3 when I should have taken my other camera and had x10).

Oh well. At least everyone elses' are good enough to look at *shrug*

Now I just need to see if I can get my photo op pics scanned. Hope that works out better.

I din`t elise I had my photo taken (are you sure my eyes are open):lol:

If you would care to send the big image to me that would be great - I can also have a look at some of the others for you too, see if they can be salvaged - that`s the beauty of digital, you can enhance them (sort of post-process them)

Ah, yes. The nationwide killer AP History Exam IS today: She's been up since 5 am preparing for it (making herself a big omelette, brewing extra-strong coffee, studying her notes, picking out the "luckiest" outfit, making sure she has emergency kit with antacids and tissues...the Landing at Normandy didn't see this much preparation).

Naturally, this has slowed down the Sam Convention Report. So you say Pixel is writing a thick book about his experiences? When and where is he posting his report? Maybe I can read it today instead of worrying about Sam's progress on that bluddy 4-hour test?

Oh, right. I have to scan pictures.

He does a report, not sure where he posts it if he does, as I think I get it via email, so if you gave him your email addy you will get it when he's done (he can take his time with it as well..) While Sami's at her SAT College Exams (yes, another 4-hour exam -- is this a cruel world or what?) I just wanted to post and say that I've added some of Samantha's pics to the Flickr site.

A few of the pictures are of new pals at the convention and I think there's ONE decent shot taken at a BDH panel.

(BTW, I think Sami came home and acquired a boyfriend, aka "the cute skater guy from Chemistry class." So you guys at the Serenity Con? Missed your chance ;-) (Guess we have to turn the new kid into a Firefly convert so he'll be worthy to date the girl).

Are these screening that went on of the completed film? I haven`t heard (well been bothered to check) whether this was a completed film or another unfinished print being screened. Either way, it`s starting to get worrying - I wonder if anybody has done a poll on whether these people will see it again and spend the money? perhaps we should ask Haken to set the poll up (the weekly poll hasn`t changed for ages)

I signed on to this board just so I could post this. I wanted to thank you for putting up photos of the costumes. I was in the big group entry, and even though I actually remembered to bring both my camera and some decent film, I didn't take a single shot all weekend, and I was dying to see how we looked. I've been hunting for photos for ages!

Also, we ended up standing behind your daughter in the line up waiting to go on for the masquerade. She was adorable! A beautiful girl, and the costume was great. We got to chat a little bit, but I don't think I actually met you at any point.

Anyway. Thanks again, and I'll stop babbling now.

Thank you! Actually, while Samantha was out there, waiting for the competition to begin, I was in the main hall wondering how the heck she was doing!
I'm glad she was with people who were sociable and nice...it could've been a bunch of mean, competitive, cut-throat people ..although, I really didn't expect fellow Browncoats to be like that. Good to know that I was right. ;-)
