Jewel Staite cast in Stargate Atlantis

Firefly actress Jewel Staite will appear in an upcoming Season Two episode of Stargate Atlantis, the actress reported on her Web site. Staite played Kaylee Frye on the short-lived FOX series, and reprises her role in the upcoming feature film based on the series, "Serenity."

Born in British Columbia, 22-year-old Staite has also appeared on Wonderfalls, The X-Files, Da Vinci's Inquest, Just Deal, and more.

It is not yet know which episode the actress will appear in, or what character she will play. Stay tuned to GateWorld for updates! Season Two of Atlantis premieres July 15 on The SCI FI Channel in the U.S.

but, did anyone else see 'Kevin Hill' on UPN?
Was that YoSafBridge? Sure did look like her...
but I'm probably wrong.

You're not wrong. Christina Hendricks (YoSafBridge) is a cast member on Kevin Hill.

Yay! Good for Jewel! Adam was almost on SG-A, and now she's found her way on. Hope it's not just a 1 shot deal. She needs to be doing more on screen/t.v. stuff.

The more I thought about it, the same feeling occurred to me as well. Having seen SG-A, Jewel ( or any of the BDHs ) would be too big a name for it.

SGA rocks....way better than SG-1. It's so cool she's going to be in it.
Adam Baldwin was in SG-1 (in one ep called Heroes season 7) and I really liked his character.

And why would she be too good for Stargate?

I am looking forward to seeing Jewel in SGA. I wish we knew more about what kind of character she will be playing and what her part in the storyline will be. I hope she is a recurring character.

I'm seeing a lot of negative feelings about Stargate. That's probably because SG-1 isn't particularly good. I have tried watching episodes from time to time but never could get into it. I gave the first episode of Stargate: Atlantis a chance and was very pleasantly surprised. The characters and stories are much much better than SG-1 and I really enjoyed the whole series.

As for Jewel being too good for it: She's too good for 99% of things but she's got to work and it's a decent gig for her right now. Of course, when Serenity is released it will launch her into a much higher league.

Wow, I need to watch Stargate Atlantis! I never really liked the few episodes I saw that much
(no Richard Dean Anderson!!) I loved SG-1, and I am actually surprised at how many of you dislike it? but since so many people here like it I might as well give it another chance.

It's a real burden being right so often.
