OK, I just want to sound out whether people would be interested in this.

I figure it would be nice to put some names to faces, or vice versa, and whilst many of you have your own sites, or have posted photos in the Blue Sun Room, I was thinking about building an online album where they could all be seen in one place. Ideally, these would be photos taken at conventions, screenings or other "unofficial" shindigs.

Anyhow, there's my plan - let me know what you think.

(PsychicRiver would have to be limited to say, 3 shots of him with Summer. I only have so much webspace...)

I don't host my pictures anymore. I use PBase for my photo albums. You should look into that option. They have a free service as well as a pay service. I think a Browncoat photo album would be outstanding.

The hosting isn't a problem, I got a bit more webspace when I bought my domain name storage space isn't much of an issue. Thanks for the info though.

So, anyone interested? All I'd need are your photos/username(s) (and real names if you like) and where the photo was taken.

From a selfish point of view, I'm going to my first convention this November and whilst I know what a few of you look like, I think it would ge great to get a gallery going.

Captain Zol is very good with image manipulation I am sure he could superimpose your face onto PR. PR won't mind we would have another picture of Summer and to see your prettyness Zol would be happy to do the work (wouldn't you - pleeeease).

Well maybe I'll get one taken at the London Shindig this weekend....

OK, I reckon we've got about enough interest for people to start emailing me.

So just to recap, I'd like:

1) User Name (or names)
2) Real name if you like
3) Where the photo was taken
4) If it was taken by a professional photographer, eg David Sumner, credit where known.
5) Where you live (Country)

OK couldn't resist - had to open Emma's!! Thanks hon - and also got a lovely photo from Spike's Babe.

This is a great idea, Fray. I would love to have a place where I can link in my mind a face with a/multiple screenname/s. I think Rayhill88 is doing something similar, though. You might want to contact him, so that you can work together on this shiny project. I have a ton of great pictures from various shindigs/cons/meetups that I would love to share!

Shiny idea. I took one at DragonCon last year of a group of Browncoats. I think limiting it to one photo per person might be a good idea, unless there are group shots that get sent in by folks and you happen to show up in several groups. I'll send one as soon as I get to my other computer. Maybe you can have the link posted on the site here too.

Hey, I'm away from the board and look what I come back too! Great response guys - thanks!

First all of - yep, just email the pictures to me. Haven't actually set up the album site yet as was waiting to see what response I got. It might be possible to upload directly but I'm not sure - so for now just send them to me.

And sure, regular photos are fine. Obviously there a tonne of people out there who haven't been to an official (or unofficial) event yet and don't want to rule you guys out.

As for how many photos each person can send, well it really depends on how many people contribute & therefore how much of my webspace it will eat up! (not a worry at the moment but never can tell...). The main idea is to put a face to a name, and obviously we can do that from one photo. On the other hand, people who've been to conventions (and I'm not going to mention any names) will have lots of photos, be it with the cast or other fans, that will be nice to share. So how about we say (for the moment) a maximum of three? And we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the heads up about the BDB - shall look into that.

Shiny shiny, Fray! Unfortunately, I don't even have any pics of me or my friends, yet. I took a digital camera to the May 26 screening, but we were all so excited that we forgot to take pictures...

But since I am a costume designer and maker, I'll get some pictures taken once I get around to making some of these costumes and getting them onto people...

I haven't been to any cons, either (not since a tiny one in 1987), so I really don't have anything useful here...

OT: I just took a look at your site, Fray. It's really lovely! I wanted the pictures to scroll down the side but for some reason kept ending up with a huge blank space - please, noone bother to reply to me with some complicated HTML explanation! Wouldn't mean a thing to me. But I guess it still looks OK.

Other slight drawback is that you can't hyperlink from web-addresses but at least they can be viewed and it's all free advertising!

*BUMP* !!

Just a reminder that the album's now online - think there's about 10 photos there so far. Quite a few people have also expressed interest (you know who you are!) so look forward to hearing from them. Again I apologise that it's nothing flashy - but I think it does its job!

At the moment it's about a 50-50 split between "normal" photos and those taken at conventions/screenings. So don't worry about what kind of photo you submit (just so long as it's decent!).

Mugshots are equally as entertaining as photos with the BDHs. Just be sure to tell me what the crime was and how long you served.

Spooky you should say that - the first time I opened the picture (you'll recall I couldn't resist taking a peek!), I'm sure it was cropped really narrow. When I opened it again - great big picture! But I honestly prefer this version - think it looks great!

If you're really trying to avoid knowing anything - stay away. I mean, the pictures don't give away any specific details, but one in particular kind of gets your mind wondering what could be going on. I think I'd rather have not seen it.

Having said that, I think some people seem to be getting a little carried away with this "Argh, it's a spoiler." If you really consider every single image or quote to be a spoiler, best stay away from the internet (well, specialist forums like this) and movie magazines for the next few months!

For instance, I posted an image in the Blue Sun Room which basically infers that River's on the run from someone - well, hello! Aren't we all aware of that. Yet I was advised that some might consider that a spoiler and was asked to add a warning, which I did because I don't want to spoil anyone's enjoyment. Similarly, there have been a few unhappy comments about the new stills from the movie having been posted.

But that's a topic for another thread. Emma - I suggest you stay away. Certainly my imagination's running wild after seeing this one particular photo.

Back to this thread - hopefully TheDuke333 will be sending me some more photos, can't wait!
