Roswell ran for three seasons and apparantly has a strong following. I haven't even seen the show, is it any good? Interesting that the two top shows are Sci Fi.

I watched a couple of episodes when it began reairing on Sci-Fi wasn't impressed. It was more of a comentary on students being alienated during high school and not fitting in as much as it was about actual Aliens. Way too much consperiacy like what happened with the X-Files, not acted out very well.

Hey my Mom watched Firefly since Bushwhacked, she missed Train Job because she was on vacation, she loved it since she first saw it.

i HAVE TO ASK. If by some hard work and determination we do climb to the top of the list what exactly do the folks over at the tvondvd site actually do with the info. Have they been responsible for commercial releases based on demand? Do they report their stats to TV affiliates? Anything like that. It's great to see the fanbase grow but I want to know if it can actually add up to something. Not to be a downer. Just wondering how often campaigns like this actually affect some positive result. What other shows in recent memory have been brought back? I want to keep the faith.

People please keep voting I believe that this is the best way for fans to show there support for a show to be released on DVD and will potentialy have more impact on the studios than a petition because there is a direct comparison with other shows.

A: We plan on having a working relationship with the studios. We have users who come and register on our site and show interest in their favorite TV shows. We let the studios know how many people want to see the shows they own released on DVD, and how they want them (season sets, best of, or individual episodes). We feel that once the studios can see the interest in their product they will strongly consider releasing more TV product on DVD.

Q: Why is this site better than a petition?

I think that question was addressed in the FAQs above. Perhaps you could give the guy that runs the site an E-mail if you need any more info.

Personally I think doing anything that may get the studio's attention is a good idea. Writing letters, signing a petition or voting in this poll are all worthwhile. Weather they make a difference or not is up to the studio. Though I have more faith in this poll than a petition or a handful of people writing letters.

Wow, Kaythryn, it's great that we both see eye to eye on my Mecentric model of the universe, but when I said my opinion is more valuable than anyone else's, you're in the "anyone else" column. Oh, Livingimpaired, the reason the voting site hasn’t responded to your e-mail is most likely because they are eagerly awaiting for me to write. I really should get on that. And to add, I’m thinking maybe your Mecentric view of the universe may be a little off. Hey everyone. I voted. I actually didn't know about that DVD site until last week. And I'm a frequent visiter to this site and a HUGE Firefly. (And of Joss shows in general.) Just think how many other big Firefly fans out there still haven't heard about that site. We need to spread the word people! We've got to get to #1! I've already started spreading the word. I'm sure many of you just received the same email I did from TVShowsOnDVD.com like I did about news on Firefly DVDs. Here's the quote from the site:

"Okay, I just got off the phone with someone at Fox that said a "Firefly" DVD was talked about in a meeting they had today. There is no other information regarding this title available, but it IS coming. We'll keep you informed when we receive more information, but nothing more is expected for some time."

I like the confirmation that DVDs are coming, but the 'nothing more is expected for some time.' is frustrating. Isn't everything with FOX frustrating though?!?

You've got to take into account that one person may have gone to that page around three times, once for the teaser, another time for act 1, then today again act 2. Then they may go back to re-read, or check a reference. So that count may be off.

It's great to see Firefly top 1600 votes, though we are still some 400 votes shy of 1st place.

Now w/ Adam Baldwin's announcement at the official site that they will in fact be releasing a DVD set, it seems our prayers have been answered. Now all we need is everyone of those 1600 voters to go out and buy one or more of the DVD sets so we can show Joss his effort was worth it.
