i like the new scenes they show and stuff. they capture the essence of Firefly, but the editing of the whole thing seemed kinda shoddy, a bunch of lines crammed together. the last part with the operative and mal didnt seem to flow as well as in the first trailer either.

it sets out more of the film's premise than the other trailer. the whole river is mentally disturbed, lots of focus on her. so hopefully non-firefly verse fans will get a feel of that too.

We have the six rebels things again...then we see clips of Mal, Kaylee, Jayne, Simon, Zoe and River before going back to Mal.

River seems to handcuffed to the grate on the floor in one scene, also she appears to be fighting Reavers with a sword and an axe later on.

And has anyone noticed that when simon says "Shes a mentally traumatised, seventeen year old girl." and "She's not going with you and that's final." he sounds kinda like a girl? At first I thought it was Zoe saying it.

Also, I like River strapping on the goggles, and her leaning her head outta the hover ship thingy as it drives off.

DURING the trailer......... and then I realized it was only half over.

Aaaahhhh. So nice to see a clip from the bank robbery scene (saw the whole scene at Wondercon, been on tenderhooks ever since. It's where my current closing quote comes from, too.)

Much better than the first trailer, a more accessible intro to the main characters and situation; much more likely to draw new people in.

Well that trailer is a vast improvement. I say that having seen the movie and It definitely gets the blood flowing and puts across more of the idea. It leaves you with a bit more of a sense of the characters. Well done!!

Yay for this trailer having more dialogue and such, but like some have already mentioned, something about the editing seems odd, hope they clean it up a bit or something. I think its good to have the two sort of "different' trailers, the first one showed just a TON of action and the story was probably hard to follow for those having not seen the show, this I think shows the story a little better but enough action to satisfy. PLEASE LET PEOPLE CONNECT TO IT! PLEASE GOD!

Well, I woke up, saw the link, and thought..."wow! First thing in the morning! I must be one of the first ones to see it!"

Obviously, 8 hours behind most of the world doesn't mean anything to me at 9 am.

OK! Wow, I think I've watched it a total of 26 times now. I'm aiming for 50 by lunch time. My only sorrow is there wasn't as much Kaylee or Inara in it, and no Book at all. But alas, the high amounts of Mal did much to satisfy that need. I have a few favorite lines from that, which I will add to my sig after this. But this trailer was very much shiny and I think a non fan can watch this, and be as excited to see the film as a long time Browncoat.

72 Days?!? How will I ever make it after seeing this trailer?

Less River fight scene
Less big space battle

This feels more like Firefly. Notwithstanding all the glowing reviews from Flans who've seen the BDM, the US trailer made me anxious. I'm much less so now.

This is infinitely better than the US trailer. In fact, the US trailer is just plain sad by comparison. The music, the humor, the fact that there is dialogue at all, the way it tells about the crew, that fact that they show the ship in it's cargo-ship form (this is your captain speaking....) and well... everything...... this makes me wonder who decided to make the US one more.... um... action-ish and empty.

Yeah, this trailer IS much better than the US version - though that did rock really hard also. If they make a High Definition version of this trailer I might have to burn it onto DVD and give it out in the street so everyone can witness the greatness of the upcoming film..

Though it was a fair bit more spoilery than the US one with the way you saw more of River's character (trying not to say too much)

I *love* the humour in it - the "yes" "no!" "yes" "no!" "yes" "no!" bit with Wash and Mal (?) is really nice, and the beginning bit with needing "authorisation"

That's fantastic! It certainly seems an action-packed adventure. Quite different from the US version, isn't it? There's so much more speech and a faster pace - they don't wait for people to finish their sentences!

I recommend the Real Audio version. I think it's the nicest, and is 4.5MB. The Quicktime movie (10.5MB) is a little fuzzy, and the Netherland version seems the same to me. The Windows Media (4.5MB) has some noticeable artifacts and waviness.

Has anyone else compared versions? The Quicktime high-res is 1:54 long, the Real high-res is 1:48. In the Real version

That's all I've noticed so far, and it's getting late - I'll look closer tomorrow.

ETA: The Real version runs faster, which would explain some of the comments made above. Compare the pitch of the music between versions.

Is the music from the actual score? (During the parts where Mal is doing the announcement on the ship). If not, anyone know where it's from?

Usually international trailers are much better than the US trailers because it's harder to win over the European market (sad, actually. It's getting kind of annoying).

The quicktime file freezes my computer but the Real Player is the best quality I think. Why isn't this on the official site?

Does anyone else's heart skip a beat when watching trailers in the cinema see the UIP then Universal screen? So far it's not been Serenity in the UK but I'm still waiting.

That's bizarre! The music is actually at a different pitch! Although I didn't notice it in the voices, like Psychicriver did.

The RA and WMV versions also have River saying "No, I'm going for a ride" whereas Quicktime omits the first word. Like they were trying to keep it under a time limit.

Looks like the trailer generated quite a lot of traffic (how suprising), we just got a message on the dutch board from uip.nl saying the version from their site generated more then 300gb of traffic in one day, make you wonder how much those others generated, since they were up a lot sooner.

....that'll teach them to switch our premier date back one week

Perhaps he's taking a back seat in this particular film.

This trailer is a lot better then the previous one. I agree with what everyone else said. (I actually didn’t read all of the post, so let’s just assume I agree with everyone else.) But this does feel a lot more like Firefly.

So the question is, which trailer is more representative of the movie? This one or the first one? Who are they trying to fool? The Americans or everyone else? I don’t know these things. I’m just giddy to see a trailer I like. It gives me hope for a better world.

The international trailer is more representative. ALTHOUGH, I think that the tone of it gives the impression that the whole Serenity movie is light hearted, which it's not. BUT it's not as serious (i.e. there is firefly humour which you see in the international trailer) as the American one would have you believe.

Have faith in the BDT international!
