Hey guys!

We're still working diligently on getting ready for the Firefly fan table at DragonCon and hosting a Shindig at said convention. We have the volunteers but we are seriously lacking in the fundage department! We are paying for this out of our own pockets and are doing what we can to get the moolah together for it! Please visit our website www.southeasternbrowncoats.org and our cafepress store and give us a hand! We appreciate you all and we want to give Firefly the showing it deserves at DragonCon.

I know last year we had Tribe episodes playing at the Tribe fan table, so make if someone could hook up a tv you could show the episodes there. It was great because people were stopping by and watching so we could explain more of the show to them by pointing to the screen.

We did do that last year as well. Planning on having a TV with episodes and the trailer, and a computer with some trivia and other fun/educational stuff for people.

I'm a new Dragon*Con goer and making the rounds of the message boards trying to get browncoats organized. Huzzah for SEB, but a lot of us don't have any contacts going into this monster. Welcome to DragonCon craziness, Mima! Last year what the Browncoats did was wear a brown armband that says Browncoat or some similar identifyable item. May I humbly suggest the Browncoat pins and lanyards I have for sale as an identifying item no one noticed how I casually slipped that in, did they? The photos of the items are in the are in the Blue Sun folder, I probably posted them a couple of months ago. I can repost them if anyone wants. I will also be selling them at DragonCon, somehow.

Also what we try to do is set a day and time for Browncoats to meet at the fan table so we can meet.

As long as my name got mentioned, I thought I'd pipe in.

The Bedlam Bards would really love to be at Dragon*Con and the SE Browncoats Shindig--but as all of you understand, funding can be an issue. I've encouraged Stan (standp) to put his compilation out there as a fundraiser for the SE Browncoats, but my band may be doing a little private fundraising ourselves. So--if anyone has any inside contacts with Dragon*Con, any strings to be pulled, please help us get a table there, despite the late date. We'll have recordings of "The Ballad of Joss" available soon, on CD and MP3.

FireflyGal-I've never been to any sort of Con, Dragon or otherwise. Not quite sure what I'm getting myself into. But excited none-the-less. I will be donating soon, but as I just shelled out mucho dinero this weekend for my membership and other sundry necessities (new shoes, the latest Harry Potter, etc.) I'm gonna have to wait a few weeks. Was also pondering a SEB shirt or something from the cafepress store. I only have 1 Serenity shirt and I'll be at the Con for at least 3 days, so I'm going to need to expand my wardrobe, methinks.

You are in for an experience and then some CallmeSerenity. Dragon Con has between 30,000 & 40,000 fans in attendance & is a blast. Between parties, panels, exhibits, etc, you will never find another Con quite like it.

There is an awesome, detailed, variety of costuming threads at the browncoats site. right down to where to find river's boots, how to make jayne's holsters, etc.

Anyone with an ounce of talent could build some shiny browncoat styles from there... but that kind of creativity I have not.

Fan tables are in one of the lower levels of the Marriott -- not the basement; that's the autographs and the second dealer's room. They're on the same level as the main dealer's room and art show. We're trying to get the spot at the bottom of the escalators, but no guarantees...it seems to be first come, first serve.
