Yes, we do rock...

but it's interesting, looking at a list of september movies, it looks like not a one that goes OMG OMG LOOK AT ME like star wars, war of the worlds, batman begins, etc all do.

I hate to say it, but universal may have had a good idea in postponing the movie till september.

I survived a day in Whitefall and all I got was this lousy signature!

Currently at 60.4%
There are also other movies listed that are opening September 30th.

History of Violence (which is only a limited release) is the next highest at 2.9% then Into the Blue (which is the only other wide release that weekend) is at 2.0% and then The Greatest Game Ever Played (another limited release) is only at 0.5%.

I'm liking these numbers.

A Sound of Thunder has possibilities. The Ray Bradbury short story is interesting, but would have suited more like a half hour Twilight Zone rather than a movie. The synopsis sounds like it picks up where the short story ends. With that much leeway, there's no telling how much damage Hollywood can do, so I'm not holding my breath.

The competition isn't great but I still love to see Serenity ripping up a poll.

It's 14th on Top Previews chart, which is based on page views. So here's an idea- if you have a Browser with 'refresh page every x seconds' function (I have this by a Firefox extension) set the Serenity page in a background tab and let it refresh every 10 seconds. We'll be way up the chart next week ;)

It looks like the primary competition is coming from Corpse Bride, which does look like an awsome movie so I'm impressed we're doing as well as we are against it. While I obviously voted for Serenity, I do encourage everyone to see Corpse Bride, as Tim Burton is awsome and it should be a great movie.

I agree. Love Tim Burton's stuff. Really, the only other movie I'm interested in seeing in September beside our BDM and Corpse Bride is The Greatest Game Ever Played, and that's because my husband and kids golf (not me).

I just voted. It's 7:30 pm California time. The percentage was 50.2 and 4340 people had voted. I went back to check on those stats and it had gone down to 50.1 and eight more people had voted. The Corpse Bride is the closest at 14.something.

Sorry, not a Burton fan, so the only other interesting movie to me is Oliver Twist. Haven't seen any previews for it to know if it looks good.
