We've closed the book on the laminating with over 400 badges printed. You can still give me names if you would like to get a non-laminated version.

If you're coming to Dragon*Con, we are making free, personalized souvenir name tags as a Browncoat community building activity. You don't even have to wear it, but I assure you that once you get there and see everyone else with theirs, you're going to wish you had one. They'll be printed on card stock and spray coated. You can see what they look like here:

Send me a list of names just as you want them printed either as a response to the BlueSun item, or through my profile, and we'll have them for you at the Con.

By the way, we currently have about 90 from the OB and 40 from FFFn, so you're going to see a few of these around. If you know a Browncoat who's going but doesn't frequent the message boards, you could pass on a name so they can be in the In crowd.

Several times folks have asked if they should pay or contribute to the nametag cause. We really have this under control as a fun giveaway, but there is something everyone can do to help. The Southeastern Browncoats need financial help to spread the BDM word at the fan table, and to put on what turns out to be a giant shindig. This could become the talk of Dragon*Con with your help. If you think the nametags are a cool idea, pay it forward and send a few bucks to the hard working Browncoats that are hosting us. Thanks.

If you have friends that are going but don't come to the online boards, they should have name tags, too. The online forums are the only way I have to reach folks, but I know there are lots more out there that won't see this. You need to be their surrogate. Please give us names so they won't feel left out.

Having been through this a few time, here's what will happen. At Dragon*Con, there will be a lot of Browncoats seeing all of these nametags saying, "I want one of those. How come I never heard about it?" I can't help anyone then, but I can make any number now. I have to depend on you to pass on the word to friends and acquaintances so that they aren't the ones saying that.

Since you are so generous, perhaps you could also share where you will be. I am a multi-year D*C attendee (in fact, an eternal member) but have not been since 9/11 (2001). Things seem to have moved away from the Hyatt and towards the Marriott.

We are staying at the Hyatt (its in the middle and closest to the food court!) but I've read that the fan tables will be at the Marriott. Is that where you will be for us to pick up our tags (and show our appreciation)?

I hear tell the fan tables are in the Marriott. I don't think the exact location is allocated yet. But whereever it is, that's where I'll be first thing Friday morning. If you're around the Marriott Thursday evening, JRBlackstar will be there wearing 300-400 nametags and you could get it from her then.

That is where they were last year. I remember walking into the Marriott (from the main entrance where the big fountain is) & going down the escalator, going to the left & the Browncoat table being a little ways on the left. WHEEEE!!! I CANNOT wait!!! Only 14 days left!!!
