Serenity viral marketing movie

Check this out. It's a short movie that apparently has been loaded onto the file-sharing networks. Although it isn't immediatly obvious to the average viewer what it's about, us fans know it's a promo clip for "Serenity". There are some minor spoilers, so beware. Joss mentioned that universal had planned some viral marketing for the movie, and this looks like a great example. It's creepy.

Wow, that's a very strange clip. I love that it's on ifilm, that's one of my favorite sites. If you're stopping by to watch the video, be sure to also check out Danny Brown's video, Balancing Point. One of the reviews said it was "magical" and they ain't wrong.

It reminds me a lot of the end of Resident Evil Apocalypse. Which probably isn't a good thing.

But I think it's a great promo that should stir up more interest in Serenity.

Wow! I'm really impressed with 'versal's innovative marketing strategies so far!

Anyone else think the guy was being drained of blood with one of the blue-hands blue wandy thingies? Or perhaps they were training River to do this without the need for the wand?

Wash is referring to an incident in one of the early episodes when River goes into the Galley and starts ripping the labels off of soup cans. When they stop her, Books holds up a couple of the cans and says something like, "We'll just have a few mystery meals, that's all."

I doubt it, especially as it appears that Universal didn't produce this.

Careful here. What we have so far is gossi saying he's been told 'Versal didn't make it. That doesn't mean they didn't (in order for the viral nature to work right, they'd have to deny it), or alternatively it doesn't mean it isn't a product of an official marketing campaign being done by someone else (allowing 'Versal to deny it's theirs and be techniclly correct).
