I just caught this at studies in words. Glenn Quinn dies last Tuesday! This link has the info, but doesn't say how he died. Anyone know?
http://glenn-quinn.com/
I, for one, always have loved the performance Quinn gave as Doyle, and always held out that faint hope that he would come back on the show somehow, someday. I never knew Glenn Quinn in person, but he brought some happiness to my life in a small way. I am greatly sadened by his passage, and my sympathies go out to his family.

How sad. I LOVED Doyle.
Looks like it hasn't hit the news yet...I couldn't find anything more about it.

Uhhhhh......
Who's Doyle?

One of the original cast members of "Angel." He was in the first nine episodes. Glenn Quinn played Allen Francis Doyle, a half-human/Half-bracken demon who got visions of people in trouble. One day he had a vision about Angel, and a girl he was supposed to help. They hooked up with Cordy, and started up Angel Investigations together. In 1.9, "Hero," Doyle sacrificed his life to save Cordelia, Angel, and a room full of innocent... people. Moments before he died, he kissed Cordelia, who he had been secretely in love with for months. In doing so, he transfered his visions to Cordelia. The rest is history. For more information:

Anyone have any information on this? An obit or something. Other than the two links already posted I haven't been able to find anything. I'd love for this to not be true.

According to a post on the board at the memorial site, he died of a heart attack in his sleep. He was 32.

This is so sad
I always enjoyed watching him on Roseanne and I hoped he would be back on Angel. I do think its odd that there has been nothing on TV about his death. I know he wasn't a well known actor but as I mentioned he was on Roseanne, and that was a very successful show.

SciFi and AICN have both written articles on it:

Slayage.com has a link to the AP story. Looks like it wasn't a heart attack... but I'll reserve judgement. Very, very tragic.

Could this get any more sad?

I don't get it. Possible Drug overdose? why do people do this to themselves? A good friend of mine has recently decided that he'd prefer to do crystal meth then just about anything else in the world... and I watch him when he's high as a kite, and he's cleaning his apartment frantically, or combing the beach stone by stone to find a certain rock... and I just think "this is what you'd rather do than have a real life?"
I don't understand chemical dependency. How do people live their lives drugged out of their mind until they kill themselves? This is so depressing.
______________
Doyle: Maybe Cordelia was right. About you being the real deal in the hero department. See, I woulda chose the pleasures of the flesh over duty and honor any day of the week. I just don’t have that strength.

Well, if you don't like being in your mind, I suppose it makes sense.

His death was on the Sunday local news of my WB station.
It said it was a possible drug overdose. I don't wanna believe it until they've confirmed it. But if it was drugs wouldn't they find something in the bloodstream, why would they need an autopsy? Oh, god, autopsy...I feel like Anya in The Body... It's so sad.

I am responding to your question of how Glenn Quinn died.He died of a suspected drug overdose. He was one of my favorite characters on Angel and I don't think it was right that he was only on the show for 9 episodes. And just to let you know,Glenn died on Tuesday,December 3,2002.He was found at one of his friends' houses dead, somewhere in North Hollywood. And I also don't think it's very sympathetic to put an exclamation point at the end of:"Glenn Quinn Dies."Just letting you know.

I don't interpret Living Impaired's exclamation point as being irreverent.
I think she was simply trying to express the tremendous shock she was feeling about the unexpected news. When I first heard the news, my first reaction was, "Holy shit!"
She does say, "I am greatly sadened by his passage, and my sympathies go out to his family."
I am saddened, too. We all are.

I know what you mean. Anya was the only one asking the questions everyone else wanted to, but were too uncomfortable. You just want to wail "But I don't understand!"
What a gorram waste! I can still hear his voice, in that lovely Irish brogue, reading the great quotes you've all posted. Jeez, how sad.

Just for the record, I meant the exclamation point to express my shock, not happiness, and I'm sorry if it came out that way. Glenn Quinn's death was tragic, and resent the accusation that I feel any other way about it.

I think most of us knew what you meant, LI. I did anyway. Oh, and I REALLY apologize if you are not a "she."

Mmm, yeah, I remember when I first heard the news. It was so sad. Rumor had it that it was that he'd drank himself to death, but again, rumor, has anything been clerified BY NOW? I knew that he was an alcholic and that was a part of the reason he was fired off Angel. But who knows. It could just be an easy conclusion to jump to, but not neccessarily the right one.

Well, I prefer to be called "Her Most Holy and Indivisible Splinderfousness," but "She" works too.
Back on a more serious track, I don't know if Quinn was an alcoholic, but I heard that that ME was planning to kill off Doyle long before he was cast, back when Doyle was still Whistler. The idea was to kill off a main character to prove that Anyone could die at anymoment.
