Just wondering if there are any fellow fans of the exploits of Duncan and Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod?

"There Can Be Only One, and you're NOT it!" Duncan to Kell at the end of Endgame.

I love the movies...i dunno about the series if I watch them again. But there was a time when I'd watch them all and etc. The seasons are a wee bit expensive. I'd buy buffy/angel at that price b/c...well, i dunno lol.

I loved the first movie.
The second two, not so much.
The series was good too, although I missed the first episode or two.

Big time Highlander fan! Loved the first movie, don't really talk about the 2nd or 3rd movie. Endgame was okay. Loved the series. Highlander The Raven was okay.

Funny this should come up, because I hadn't seen Highlander in years, and decided on Sunday to refresh my memory. Still kicked ass. It's one of those 80s movies I love, and love to make fun of.

I can't remember the villain's name, but isn't he the best 80s villain ever? I love the part where he throws an old guy out of a car, gets in, turns to the old woman (who's crossing herself), and says with relish, "Mom!"

The Kurgan.
One thing that made me peevish was a constant need to name all the subsequent villains with "K" names.

Certainly. Are you aware that a new movie just started filming? It's got Adrian Paul from the series, and he approved the script (as exectutive producer, supposedly). So he thinks it's good (as opposed to Endgame).

http://highlander-thesource.com/

Also, there's an Adam Baldwin autographed picture on Adrian's PEACE fundraising auction site. Wouldn't it be cool to see Adam Baldwin as an immortal?

Off topic: does anyone know how "highlander" did in the theaters? If that can get 2 sequels than "Serenity" should as well.
Of course one would hope that the Serenity movies would be of higher quality.

Highlander:Endgame got the following numbers -
Domestic: $12,811,858 80.9%
+ Overseas: $3,031,750 19.1%
= Worldwide: $15,843,608

It opened September 1, 2000

Guess what? Not only are they doing one more - but they're doing a TRILOGY.

Now, I know 5 years is a long time and inflation is demanding more of a take...but if Endgame can bomb and they're still making movies, why not Firefly?

... I remember going to see Highlander in a theatre, all those years ago...

... There were only like, 5 or 6 people in the theatre, and 2 of them (a couple) got up and left after about 20 minutes. Fools!

... Love it!! Highlander the Original film, Highlander III (there never really was a Highlander II - that's just a vicious rumor ) and the TV series was great!

Another Highlander fan checking in. I am a sucker for strong fightin' men folk, immortal or not.

I'm looking forward to Highlander: The Source mostly because Methos has larger role in this movie. Adrian Paul has been posting on his website re: the movie shoot and it sound like it was a rough time.

Wow, a new "Highlander" movie!! Too cool!! I haven't seen Highlander in ages, but I sure enjoyed watching Duncan, and Methos . I also enjoyed seeing some unusual guest stars, like Roger Daltrey.

I'm surprised I haven't heard about this new movies. I'll have to check for info on this, if for no other reason than to linger on pics of Adrian...

A guilty indulgence of mine. Way more so for MalsWay, who is in mid-Highlander-athon with the DVD set.

Methos does rock. Might as well be pragmatic about being yourself. Why not? After 5,000 years, there is a lot of "self" to be!

Very curious about the trilogy.

Highlander the Series was the best. Duncan rocks. Hated the ending. The first movie was great. Not wild about II. Not a good enough reason as to where the immortals came from. Endgame was good. Hated that Conner had to die, but he was tired and worn out from seeing his friends die. Immortality has advantages and disadvantages.

Highlander: The Source is the next one. Here is a series of notes about filming from Adrian.

I'm almost finished with season 1 -- still got a ways to go in the series but I love it so far. I saw the film firstly... years and years ago, and saw it again only recently.

For those who might want to catch-up on the series, the www.highlander-official.com site is selling the DVD sets for $30 each, or $200 for all 6 seasons plus the "best of" set in a slipcase.

Which rather annoys me, since I paid $65 each for the same sets. Grrrr.

And besides The Source, which is rumored to be released in September, there is also Highlander: Vengeance, which is a new Anime film from series (and The Source) writer David Abromowitz and the director of the Anime films Vampire Hunter D and Ninja Scroll.

There is also a Highlander comic book launching in the spring, which follows the series continuity (IE, Connor and Kurgan were not the final 2 immortal), but follows Connor's story directly afyter he defeats the Kurgan.

Happy 20th anniversary Highlander. Hope it's a good year.

Here we are, born to be kings
We're the princes of the universe
Fighting for survival
We've come to be the rulers of your world

Aaaaahhh Highlander , the first TV Show I ever got addicted to.
I was such a Methos fan, wrote many fanfictions about him, even had a fansite for a few years :)

I was amazed when I saw that they were making a 5th movie, after the bad result they had with Endgame, still can't believe they dared kill Connor (die producers, die).
I'm wondering if it'll be any better than the last 4 movie (shouldn't be to hard to make a better movie).

Anyway, there can be only one, and it'll be me...
