One has to assume sean is for real, because as i said in another post on a different thread, if he called myspace and said, I'm sean squash that poser, they would. If the posting withstands the test of time if would have to be considered legit. It will likely disappear if it gets too much fan attention, so assuming it's really sean, don't be a pain and swamp him, because servers hate anomalous crashes, and they might ask him to get his own server or something.

Some scrutiny reveals there's nothing here that isn't public info, so it's not locked that it's him.

Just want to point out that there's a bajillion celebrity RPGs out there with fans masquerading (sometimes even convincingly) as celebrities. I'm always skeptic about seeing a celebrity with a journal or myspace unless they confirm it's theirs. It might be him, but it's likely not.

Personally, I think it's a hoax. Mainly because it doesn't seem like something he would do.

I notice that when it comes to sci-fi conventions and stuff like that, you can always expect Joss, Nathan, Adam, Summer and Jewel to show up at these things. They seem to be the most vocal and expected when it comes to these. I know Morena shows up at these as well, but not too many, I think. Gina, Ron, Alan and Sean seem to be the ones who opt out on these things the most for one reason or another. I think the only time I've seen Sean in anything like this was the Space Cast thing on SPACE, when he was in Toronto for one of the screenings.

Jewel I expect to have a blog and a website of her own for this kind of thing. But Sean, I don't think so. He seems to shy away from publicity a lot, so to have a page at Myspace would be too out of character for him.

I looked it over and I really don't think it's him. It just looks so... not Sean. Especially considering all the mistakes in it (and, yes, I understand the whole internet spelling is *meant* to be bad, but still), the whole thing just smells a bit iffy to me.

I know Alan enjoys the conventions and such and such, but he's just not at many, as he is considerably busier than some other cast members. And Seans been to various US cons...like, the last two San Diego Comic Cons...and he's doing a UK Starfury event in November, and he's doing a US con in December. Rons made quite a few appearances too. (CallMeSerenity hugged him! Which is soo not fair. I wanna hug CMS! Curse you, Ronald!

) But I think the rarest cast member is Gina...I know shes enjoys the conventions, and meeting fans...but, she just doesn't need the money.

And to go on topic...I don't really think it's him.

No way is this really Sean Maher. Even if he created a profile on My Space to keep in touch with his own friends (and I'm sure some celebs do), I doubt very much he'd broadcast it by billing himself as an actor from Firefly and Serenity. He'd go low profile and use a fake name, or he'd make himself not searchable. Why would he set up crazy fan bait like that, and then check it regularly add people?

He's had almost no presence on online message boards for Firefly, so it's even more out of character.

And why would he use THAT picture?

ya i wouldn't really count on it,, even the ghost hunters.. there is like 12 howard sterns, 3 kevin nashs, and a bunch of other celebs, like cloud strife and sephiroth and other fictional characters, eventhough it looks real, (like what it would look like if they were real people and not just video game characters). I would like to find out some how, How many real celebrities really do have a my space..I Do just search my email.. I'd like to just say that, while I completely believe that the Sean myspace was nothing but fake, some celebs do actually have a myspace. I know that all three guys that were the geek trio on Buffy have real myspace accounts and I've seen them. How do I know? My friend works for the trumpet player in Adam Busch's band and pretty much got the infor from him. So, it's possible for some myspace accounts to be real, but it'd be hard to find the real ones I'm sure.

Lol Tom seems like a fun person to get to know. I'm tempted to add him, just to get to know him, but I can only hope b/c he seems cookie person and I usually end up flocking that type. I can only hope I don't end up scaring him away b/c Im a Joss Whedon fan. He does however loves Reno 911 as do I. ^_^

Your personal thoughts on this please.

Of the three, I've had most contact with Adam (Warren) and he's soooo super sweet. He is one of THE nicest guys you'll ever meet. Danny (Jonathan) is, too, but I didn't talk to him as much as Adam. The one I talked to least was Tom, and only because Danny left him with me in front of the lobby doors. Tom's very shy in person.

Adam's also a very talented musician (moreso than, say, James Marsters). You can see info about his band on their site: www.commonrotation.com

As for adding Tom...I think people probably add him all the time. He's got a great personality and is very silly (you should hear his Ralph impressions), but he's also extremely shy, especially with fans. I think if you add him, you should not be surprised or let down if he doesn't add you back. Just talk to him like a regular person and I'm sure you'll do fine. It always worked for me.

Someone correct me if what I'm about to say has been taken care of yet but I don't think that the myspace is real and I think that someone should tell Sean's agent about it. I don't think that it was real because I talked to Sean after the Living til the End Q&A and he didn't seem to be the type of guy that would stay in touch with his fans through the net. He doesn't even check the Firefly/Serenity boards to see what fans are posting. I forgot to tell him about the myspace while I was talking to him. Does anyone know who his agent is?

I agree. Sean does seem to not like publicity that much. This whole thing seems odd.

Also, many people out there do pretend to be other people. I'm a major poster on Amber Tamblyn's website (official, and mentioned by Amber), and during a gigantic question/answer dealio someone asked who she was on Myspace, because 3 or more people were saying they were her.

She said none of them, and that she doesn't go on Myspace.

People will do anything to get attention, including impersonating celebrities.

Yeah, I first heard about this on the Sean Maher IMDB listing-message boards. When I first clicked on it, there was no picture, not anything. The star sign said "Capricorn" which struck me as odd because I had just read his bio and he was def not a capricorn. Now it says Ares. While it could be the typical boy "what sign am I? Capricorn?" thing, it def has a ring of "not actual Sean Maher."

Yawn.

I'm not sure that the "Adam" profile is really Adam. Jewel's has more of a chance being real, but its still hard to say.

Well, the sean one's been answered. I think Adam's is highly unlikely to be real. Jewel's might be real by looking at the pics but i'm not completely sure.
