Other than FF, what's your favorite 1-season show?

I though of this as an offshoot of the Favorite series thread. What shows, other than Firefly of course, did you love, but only lasted 1 season, or less.
Here's my list, for what it's worth:

Space: Above and Beyond
Come to think of it... these were all Friday night shows on FOX, which were cancelled too soon.

Added: I checked IMDB and indeed, The Prisoner ran for only one season. It may have been planned that way from the start, but it still ranks as my second-fav one year wonder.

UNDECLARED was absolutely great. Loved, loved, loved it.
That was another TV show that my mate got me into thru the power of internet downloads 
I had the pleasure of meeting UNDECLARED star Charlie Hunnam at the Green Street Hooligans premiere and we spoke about Undeclared for around 5 minutes, he is the greatest guy.
Other than when I met the BDHs at the Serenity premiere, that was the coolest moment of my life

Some of them have been mentioned already, so I'm going to throw two that havn't been mentioned into the ring.
One show that I think only lasted two eps, and one I keep waiting to show up on DVD, is this show from 2000 called WONDERLAND. It had Martin Donovan, and the guy that played Buffalo Bill in SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. It was like ER, but it was set in a mental institution, and it followed the lives of these folks who worked in the psychiatric ward. Pilot ep was the most riveting thing I've ever seen, and the Madonna/William Orbit theme song to it is one of the most beautiful, haunting electronic songs I've ever heard.
The other show that lasted two years, but its second season was only 9 episodes long, was BOOMTOWN. It came on the same year as FIREFLY, and was as screwed around by NBC, as FIREFLY was by FOX. It took a Rashomon-like pov of this group of L.A. cops and people in their circles. And the character of David McNorris, played by Neal McDonough, is by far the most complex character ever created for network tv. Keep waiting for the second season to come out on DVD to finish up the set.

Well, FX which = Fox just cancelled Over There which was pretty damn awesome, with great character development and that was visually stunning.
Dark Angel only ran 2 and I cry myself to sleep about that often.
Space Above and Beyond was awesome.
I also loved Special Unit 2. It was a great show, funny, with the freaky scifi stuff going on.

Corny as hell. Cursor rawked, but the whole slamming of the face up against the window when they turned corners was unbelievable even to a simple preteen mind.
Nonetheless... it felt like the Tron videogame on TV. And I loved videogames. A whole lot of grass got mowed so I could pump an endless stream of quarters into the Tron video game.
Betcha hollywood will make a Tron movie next. Someone please, whore my memories.

I like to call "Gene Roddenberrys : Andromeda" a one season show, even though it actually went on to last 5 seasons.
The reason i do so, is because the shows creator, developer and cheif writer, Robert Hewitt Wolfe, left after the first season.
Its a shame - i really enjoyed the first season of Andromeda - dont much care what others think -but Season 2,3,4 and 5 declined greatly in quality, due to a change of writters\producers, and for this reason we Drom fans see Season 1 of Andromeda a different show to the later seasons.
It might as well have been a different show - all continutiy and storyline was completly lost once the writters changed after the first season. The characters changed completly, Hell even the sets changed.

I agree with some of the above, Wonderfalls in particular, but there is one show that no one has mentioned yet. It doesn't really surprise me that no one has because I meet almost no one who has ever seen it.
That show, on the Fox network (go figure) in 1992/3 was "Flying Blind". It was a brilliantly written sitcom, and showed that Tea Leoni, besides being gorgeous, had the best comedic timing of any actress on TV.

Speaking of reality shows that died because of 9/11 (well, I'm not sure if it's actually the reason MiSTX didn't continue, I just know the first winner died there), there was another show called Lost, before the current one, in 2001. That version of Lost still gets shown on the Reality Channel (250 on DirecTV). It was pretty good. It was kind of like Trading Mommies on Fox, in that they were two episode reality shows, then new people would race in every other episode. The reality channel also featured up-to-date interviews with several contestants and what they thought of the show and how it was a shame that the show got canceled in the wake of 9/11.
Murder in Small Town X got terrible ratings, so it wouldn't have come back regardless, but I enjoyed it. Of course I was sad about 9/11 anyways, but it was very disturbing to know the winner lost his life as a firefighter in the towers that day.

Hope somebody remembers this one and knows the name. Around 1990 there was a show about some goofy guy on the lam/incommunicado in an airstream trailer. It was very funny, had a theme song by Jimmy Buffett, who I believe ghost wrote a few of the episodes. I can't remeber the name for the life of me.
My #1 (sorry Joss) show in this catagory is the aforementioned Wonderfalls. A brillient show that had the misfortune of launching at the hieght of the reality craze.
Max Headroom and Pivin's Cupid also rate.

I would say Alien Nation too, that was a show I became committed to, wrote for a newsletter for 9 years for and fought like hell for. It was a great one, and I have on order the DVD set too. I even got to meet Eric and Gary, Eric Pierpoint is a sweetheart. ( Hope I get to meet Nathan one day). But, Alien Nation for sure.

Seeing Wonderfalls cancelled was the straw that broke the camel's back. We watched too many good shows get the axe and things like "The Littlest Groom" reality show get a green light. So except for 3 shows we do not watch network TV anymore. They lost their ability to know what is good TV a while back. Cable gets the majority of our attention.

I can't tell you how happy I am that so many of you guys remember Space: Above and Beyond. The first few episodes were rough but once that show hit its stride it was some of the best sci-fi I had ever seen on tv (in my opinion). Of cource SAAB was a show that Fox royally screwed which to this day doesn't make any sense since they were paying 1 million an episode. And they set it up to fail. Ill never understand that.
When Serenity got greenlighted that was almost a vindication no only for Firefly and its fans but for SAAB as well. At least to me it did.
As for other shows: John Doe, Brisco County Jr and Nowhere Man(Where are the Negatives, Tom?).
Gotta hand it to fox. They greenlight good shows. Now if they just gave em a chance.....

From what I've seen of Prison Break, it's quite good but dark, as you might imagine. The great thing about 24 is each season is a pretty self-contained story. I didn't start watching it until half way through season 2 and I really didn't have a problem picking up the pieces. The last season I LOVED. I'll be there in January.

Not that is much matters now, but the very next best thing to Firefly is "Red Dwarf". It's a BBC show that always seemed to be (1) underfunded, and (2) teetering on the edge of cancellation.
It triumphed over all the aforementioned adversity and ranks up there as the only show I love more than Firefly.
Infintely clever.
Damn you Britain! I narrowly escaped Monty Python and Douglas Adams, only to get sucked in by Red Dwarf.

Space Above and Beyond is going to be released on DVD in the US very soon (or might have already been released) - check www.tvshowsondvd.com for details
As for Dark Skies, it soooo wasn't supposed to last one season. It had a five year arc, but was cancelled after only one, meaning that a lot of it was unresolved. There was talk about continuing the story through novels and comics but it never came about... shame really, considering I really loved the series

I can't believe nobody's mentioned it yet (unless I missed it) but for me, to pick one 1-season show, I'd have to go with Now and Again it really was a superb show with not one bad episode. Plus to make it that more heartbreaking, it ended on a cliffhanger that now will never be resolved.
As for other series:
Dark Skies - I loved this show that was a mixture of The X Files and Forrest Gump. Another series that ended on a cliffhanger that was never to be resolved
Freaks and Geeks - This is really my favourite cancelled show, but because it didn't end on a cliffhanger I can treat it as a miniseries, and a damn good one at that. This is the only series that every single member of my family loves.
Wonderfalls - Wonderfully wacky. At least it had a conclusion.
Harsh Realm - Hugely promising. Stupid Fox however had no faith in the show and maybe the show was just a little too intelligent for the majority of braindead viewers. Didn't end on a cliffhanger, but it wasn't resolved either. It only had 9 episodes!!!
The Lone Gunmen - Not perfect, but enjoyable enough, and it got better towards the end
Miracles - Granted I've only just started watching it and have thus seen but a handful of episodes, but so far I'm very impressed
Tru Calling - not sure if this counts as it's second season was only 6 episodes. I haven't yet watched the last two or three episodes, but I kinda don't want to cos then it's really over
and last but not least
My So Called Life - my first experience with losing a show after one season. "How could they do that?" I would scream. Maybe I should pick up the dvd set

I agree. Freaks and Geeks was great! To bad it never made it. I've started watching the Undeclared, which has some of the same actors in it, and it seems decent as well.
Another favorite 1 season show is Max Headroom. This was a show WAY before its time, and it actully made fun of the tv exects/industry on its last show when it went off the air. I wish this was out on DVD!
My other favorite was Police Squad! (In Color). Only 6 episodes, but it was a hoot!

yeah, only 6 episodes of Police Squad, but thankfully they turned it into a couple of good Naked Gun movies. By the time they hit the 3rd one, I think they were running out a gags.

I've never bought anything from them yet, but have a bunch of old 80's tv shows on DVD for sale. I'm sure they are copied from VHS tapes, but having something would be better than nothing. If you remember all those, you're better than me. But some of them do ring a bell, especially when you see the screen shots from the show titles.

Getting kind of numb to it now - with the new SciFi shows, just sort of expecting the axe will fall as soon as I really begin to care about the characters and where the story is going. Oh well.
Dark Angel is the most ironic one - I kind of liked it, actually, but Firefly was a vastly better series, and could have been the "next X-Files" FOX has been hoping for, if they had just given it a chance.
