Great! I was starting to get worried. Though I think im probably the youngest browncoat to have signed on. Man i was just reading some other thread , i am SO jealous of everyone going to the Serenity SQUARED convention. I didnt realise it was even happening till like yesterday, by then tickets were sold out (typical)

I'm 18 and just recently watched Serenity-loved it- then bought a copy of Firefly for myself, and my friend who's a year younger than I am as an early Christmas gift. Oh ya, and he loves the show and movie also.
Also, there are about 10 people I go to university I have met that love Firefly as well.

OK, so I'm 22, but I feel drawn to respond anyway. I did start being a browncoat at 21--my last college roommate introduced me (thank you Fiona!). My sister is now an under-age browncoat of 18. I just feel what y'all are saying 'cause it does seem like people here are all older than us--but that may be because Firefly fans are smart and so they sound older :) How many people are really spelling out their ages, anyway? Who can really tell? Though I am the youngest on my Crew (Destiny Flying, I'm the resident Crazy Sister) and they all say sweet things as if I'm really young :)

So welcome all browncoats, young and old and new and old :) What a nice group to be a part of!

Frankly I'm shocked, I didn't realise there were so many other under 21's here. Where have we all been hiding?

There BETTER be a Serenity cubed. It's the only thing standing between me and a dose of rage and insanity that I can't get to Serenity2.

Hahahahahahahahaha......! MAN!!! When i posted that thread i did NOT expect THAT MANY REPLIES!!! Im glad there are so many though, just goes to show, aint nothin' in the verse that can stop us younger folk.

Even now, DAYS after posting that thread im pissed about not getting tickets to Serenity Squared.

I got into Firefly around late september, and have yet to see Serenity (Damn parents...!). I'm trying to convince my dad to take me to belconnen to see it, I told him it was a futuristic-western thingy, he likes westerns, and that my friends dad saw it and got into it, who is around his age, but he hasn't said yes yet.

You're pissed? I knew about it five months ago, I just didn't have enough cash to go, I still don't. I tried every budgeting trick in the book!

I have a question that I want to ask (out of curiosity from my own experience) who here had trouble with their parents not 'getting' the allure of FF or the huge internet community for that matter? I started out in the Buffy 'verse at 13 and my Mum just shook her head like I had somehow been dragged to the dark side or I had STRANGE tattooed to my forehead.

So, was anyone else ever faced with that?

I live in such a tiny town our small cinema hans't even got it yet- the posters have been up since last month and it's not even here!

my mum doesnt get any of the programmes i watch so i just dont tell her about weekends away like Serenity2. she'd only go on about how much it costs. so its a good job im at university where she cant keep track of me!
