Seems many on here have a fondness for sci-fi as it applies to the western genre.
Well remember who did it first on tv?
Yep, Bruce (Evil Dead) Campbell!
My biggest question: When the HELL is it gonna come out on DVD???!
This great show saw it comin', so they wrapped up their 'Bly' story arc a little more than halfway through, and even managed a 'goodbye' of sorts in the final ep.*snif*
How many AOBCJ fans do we have here?
And is Bly dead?

Yeah, Chris, I remember that show!
It starred a horse named Comet, right?

So, you're talking to yourself now? Not always a good sign. Anyway, I, too, enjoyed this show. I don't remember it very clearly, though, since it's been so long since I've seen any episodes. I think I was crushing pretty heavily on Bruce, that much is certain.

I've seen Brisco mentioned on several threads here- I thought there'd be more of a response!
Maybe they're all just a little reserved, like Lord Bowler.
Anyway, thanks for the reply, O.

I loved Brisco as a kid! I know there are DVD's out there, like at http://briscocountyjr.com/home.htm, but I'm not sure how legit they are.

One of the creators died, and so the rights are in question.

Never saw it, but I've heard about it, Doesn't Champion the wonder horse come from it, or is that from another show?
Hey, Chris, I thought it was only me who spoke to myself, but you post to yourself too, wow
More insane ramblings by the people who brought

Oh, yeah, hi Citizen! Didn't see the reply page up so soon.
No, Champion must be from another show.
And I NEVER talk to myself!

Personally Brisco and Firefly tie as the best TV shows ever as far as I'm concerned. Brisco is one of the coolest characters on TV ever! I'm under the impression that Bly is indeed dead. It's funny even now, after over 10 years, every time an actor from Brisco shows up on another show I freak out and go "S/He was on Brisco!" And of course both Julius Carry (Lord Bowler) and Nathan Fillion were on Two Guys and a Girl, so double the fun.
I have really good news too. It looks like Brisco is finally really going to come out on DVD. There is more info on its release here http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4615
I'm so excited I've been waiting for these DVDs forever.

Another show that I am going to have to catch (now that it is coming out on DVD) recommended by Chrisisall.
I remember this show vaguely, but I didn't get a chance to watch it.
So now I will...

I'm really surprised there aren't more Brisco fans here. I always considered Firefly and Brisco sort of a natural pairing for fandom, but maybe I was wrong. I remember when Firefly first came out, Entertainment Weekly in its little program grid featured Firefly and said something along the lines of "Here one for all you sci-fi western fans, that right I mean you Brisco fans" That's not exactly right, but that was the general feel.

I still chuckle when I remember the episode where Brisco is filling in for the sheriff and catches someone riding a horse drunk through town. "Step away from the animal." (smiling fondly at the recollection)
I vote we all be issued dvds immediately.

lol, Brisco was filled with that kind of funny!
DVD's are finally in sight!!
Bruce Campbell is a comedy god (even when he's playin' it sorta straight).

More promising news on the Brisco DVDs. You can vote on what the cover art should look like at this link...

I can hardly wait for this DVD set, especially after the olympics (the theme music for the olympics is Brisco's theme music, for those of you who don't know or have forgotten), I just hope it's not too expensive when it comes out.

You named your steel horse after Comet? :disapointed: Don't you remember what almost happened to Brisco when he rode the motorcycle instead of Comet in Steel Horses? Just kidding. I'm kinda' disappointed that comet isn't on one of the cover options for the DVD set. Remember the classic Brisco picture where Brisco is on Comet's back and Comet is bucking? That would be nice.

Loved the show, first introduction to Brucey. The man can act! and he's a funny guy! (sound familar?) I say put him in a movie with Nathan and let em have at it. But the sad thing is Brisco and X-Files came out the same time, 1993, and the X-Files takes off while Brisco slowly spun into obscurity, is that fair?
For some reason I saw the show as a funnier extension of Wild Wild West, some kooky science invovled, but it comes down to six shooters and a witty retort.

I remember that my first introduction to Brisco was rather like my Firefly intro....flipping channels when something caught my eye.
For Brisco, it was Bruce riding a train car-mounted rocket to catch a locomotive. Just caused me to go "WTF" (but with better language since I was 10 at the time) and watch it. Only issue was it was being shown as part of my Fox affiliate Action Adventure weekend where the shows got rotated between (or were they in programming blocks...hmmm).
Firefly got the me same way, but with The Train Job's....train job;)

My first Fox-hating experience.

But as lame as Fox is, without them Brisco, Dark Angel and Firefly might never have been aired at all...
