Hi all, I'm new to random. The threads go back way too far to deal with, but what the hey ... I have some questions:

DVDworldUSA - I found the site, it's British! Do they ship to the US?

You're all talking about the gag real - is this the one on the Serenity DVD, or do you have the full one from the convention somewhere? I wish I'd seen that one!

It's from the US DVD. DVDWorldUSA are shipping all their DVDs early as they have mistyped the release date as December 2, not December 20. Heh.

I did email Nathan for a copy of the Serenity Squared gag reel, but to be honest he'd completely forgotten who I was and I suspect thought I was stalking him. I wish I was kidding.

NOS-that is definitely the WRONG answer! The correct answer is to get a tupperware container, fill it with the BBQ, stash it in your pocket, and go see your favourite childhood book turned into a movie and eat the BBQ in the dark theatre.

I'm going to go see Narnia tonight. I'm thinking of stopping by a tienda to pick up a quesadilla, and then stuffing my big purse full of twirls and crunchies and flakes and having a right feast in the theatre.

I have no respect for the ridiculous prices theatres charge for their food and I refuse to pay it.

CMS i totally agree normally. but when your not driving and your the DD... and when the BBQ is on the navy base which is like an hour or so from the theater (not an exageration) its one or the other. But cuz i volunteered to be the DD, i get to steal his car while he works in the morning... so it's not soooo bad, i'll still get to see it opening weekend...

and now its time to watch... HP4... cuz i gots it on my computer, and maybe I can bare the crappy quality... maybe... or i'll jsut sleep , whichever one caughts my fancy first

NOS: Isn't the theater in Agana? And isn't it the only one on the island? (or it was 20 years ago if I remember correctly.)

I don't remember this of course, but I was 6 months old when the first Superman movie came out. My parents went, and took me. They said I slept through the whole thing (My dad, when telling this story always says, "You were such a sweet, well-behaved baby. Where did we go wrong?" har har har.)

Have you ever been up to Tinian? Another place I went to as an infant but don't remember. But I remember seeing pictures. Gorgeous. I'm sure you've heard all the stories about the Japanese soldiers that hid out in the jungle on the islands for years and years after the war was over. I think the last guy they found was on Guam in the late 70's. He wandered out of the jungle right onto Navy housing. Didn't realize the war was over.

I'm going to see Narnia tonight too! I'm so excited. I've loved that book since my 5th grade teacher read it to us. He was good at it too, changed his voice for the different characters, explained stuff we didn't understand, etc. I am, however, getting popcorn, cuz the theatre in my hometown has the BEST POPCORN EVER and it's pretty cheap. (Read: $5.25 for popcorn with butter and large pop.)

I found it on my newgroup that I pay monthly fer. Its not a very good quality , 670mb for that long movie, but it works for just seeing the movie again. And, CMS, i've already seen it in theaters once, so they at least got my money.

Also, I don't know the town names, but theres the one in teh micronesia mall and one down in GPO if they were there then. And when we just drove down to the navy base from andersen, it took us almost 2 hrs... damn'd traffic and a 35mph speedlimit the whole way.

I can't believe it'd take you 2 hrs to go 30 miles! Craziness! I remember there being a big highway that went around the island. We certainly drove more than 35mph, I remember that! Things change.

I'm pretty sure the mall is in Agana. Agana's the capital and the biggest city. It's also pretty much dead center of the island. It's been eons since I've been there, and I was so little that I don't remember much. But I could get you from the airport to the house I used to live at. I still remember exactly how to get there. Weird, isn't it?

My best friend's mom had a red pick-up truck with a cab cover and once we drove down to Magellan Beach and she let us sit in the back and we pulled the hatch down and sat with our legs dangling out. Pretty stupid, but at the time we thought it was so fun.

HEY EVERYONE! Have arrived safely!!

Thanks to Hilary for your text - I had no cred!

OMG this has been so fun already and wevbe only had friday. Didnt get to go to the cocktail party, but it was still amazing!

We saw Summer and Sean get here to the hotel (well i saw the back of Sean's head) but then just as summer was about to go round a corner she looked at me, smiled, then kind of did a double take with a shocked and happy face. Then she waved, and then we went to go to towards each other, and stopped, then went, and stopped then she was towed away by someone.

Opening ceremony was cool. My seat was incredibly close. Few ppl couldnt be there last night, Nathan, christina, jonathan...
but they'll be there today!

When Sean came out on stage, he saw me and then pointed and waved and smiled!

And he did that to girleekaylee too!

And I shouted the usual to summer, but seeing as i was so close she saw me, lol.

And then later when morena was sitting down, she smiled at me.

Havent caught up with jewel yet, dammit.

Alan was just hilarious, as was Adam. Buty it didnt feel right without nathan there. The twins were also very funny.

Anyhoo, later, i saw summer going outside, and i was thinking, shall i talk to her, no, no nah then i said "Summer!" and she turned round and opened her arms for a hug so i went over and hugged her of course. She said she was so surprised to see me there, and we talked for about five minutes, about California, and about my sister and things, and it was very cool!

Then about ten minutes later i ran into morena who said hey how are you? I said i was good, and not tired, and she thats good, but u will be! It'll hit you, now its your turn to be tired! And we both laughed and then she went!

Havent had a chance to speak to sean yet, but we will be leaving soon, and first thing this morning is photo ops! yayyyy

Evilbunnies and her faily are taking sucxh good care of me and treating me soo well. Im haveing a wonderful time.

Yoho chums!!

OMG, if the last post made you jealous, then DO NOT read this. Especially if you're a Sean Maher lech.

So this morning, photo ops... it was Alan first, and I'm line for that, and then Sean comes in and sits down on a chair waiting for his, and then he see's me and he's smiles and waves so I was like aww thats so nice! So then, photo with Alan...then I'm walking out...and as I'm going past Sean, he gets up and stops me, and he shakes my hand, and he does that things that he does where he shakes your hand and then stops, and just kinda holds onto your hand for a while (OMG!) and he was asking me how I was, when I got in etc/etc and so we're chatting away until some woman comes along kicks me out (bitca!)

OMG the q & A's, there was all the boys this morning, which was soo soo soo funny. High-larious.

And then Christina Hendricks got here, and was in reception and i kind of saw her and went over and she says "Hey Matt!" and we were chatting about how much fun we were having a great time.. and then we both said "Oh I'm so glad you're here!", at the EXACT same time, which was eery.

And theres a table of props. The can river knocks out jayne with, the operatives laser gun, the operative's sword, alliance inspector simon tam's bouncing betty, and River's goggles... which I very much wanted to wear, but couldn't. But anyhoo there was a chair behind the table and i asked the guy if i could sit on it, and he said yeah, so i sat on this chair and positioned myself behind the goggles so that u could see my eyes through them, and omg it looks so cool!!

And I finally bought the photos of my sister dressed up as riover, for summer to see, and i ran into summer in reception where i showed her and she was like omg she looks like you, and she said shes so cute, and she asked her name and how to spell it, and she said that she wanted to write a little message to her, and so she has those photos now, and is going to give them back to me tommorrow.

Oh and apparently last night in the cocktail party 2 people told me that Summer was asking after me! Last night me n ash were really bummed out that we didn't get to go to it, but summer, morena and sean only stayed for half an hour, and sean and summer were the ones i wanted to speak to most.

And today I had my photo with Summer and she was like, where were you last night? And i said i couldnt go, and she was like aww...well you didn't miss much. So that was sweet.

And then it was time for my photo with Sean, and i invited evilbunnies in on it, so we both went in and i was like this is my friend ashley and he says hey and then he like, well, he thought the photo was just him and her, so he kinda hug her, turns his back to me and poses...and so im standing there... and im like, erm...and so i tap him on the back and he turns round and im like "I'm in in it too." and the whole photo room erupts into laughter, and sean goes pink and then he poses with both of us and we have a photo, and its really nice.

And then i jumped in on EB's summer and sean op, which was cool. And then it was my photo with Sean and Jewel, again very nice.

And we had the q n a eith summer jewel, morena...so good. They spent like 10 minutes arguing about some famous american cook, high-larious! And adam threw nathan throught the door halfway through...and then later, the boys all came out...and kinda joined in for a while, which was great. And then they all did a commentary for OOG, which was OMG AMAZING!! There was a real energy in that room.

And then it was the banquet, so me, ashley, and our nice lil group of friends (there's nine of us, 4 from CA, one of whom is piffle101, another being GirleeKaylee, 4 from MA, and then Matt aka "The Brit") we went out to subway and had such a nice time. Actually, Kazumi and Angelica didn't go because they were in the banquet!! And when I got back I saw that Angelica was actually sitting next to Summer.

I do that all the time. Tell my friends I love them, not chase kids with poo scented shoelaces. It makes people nervous though. Often enough it makes the people doing it uncomfortable. People look at me funny when I do it in the grocery store. I have one friend who invariably calls me when I'm at the grocery, or on my way to the grocery. At least once a week we have a conversation with me in the grocery. Rude as hell, I don't usually talk on the phone in shops, but I can't be bothered not doing it when it's Karen on the phone. We talk about real stuff in the grocery store too, not just the weather, or blah blah work, or gossip. Relationships, receptor sites, philosophy, whatever. I always get a kick out of hearing someone in a shop talking with someone about 'which brand, red or green'. We are out of control with the cell phone!

I only heard about this a couple of hours ago, since, well, it's Sunday.

I know people in the area. Both of them within a mile of the place. They thought it was the end of the world, a nuke, or something. Vibrations that knocked stuff off walls and shelves, and them off their feet or out of bed. Cars flipped. Roofs blown off, windows smashed. All the windows blown out in Harpenden high street. And the fires so big you didn't need to turn your house lights on; so much heat. Smoke making it like the dead of night, and people with asthama suffering big time. Black rain.

Needless to say I was very concerned for them, but they're okay. May have to be evacuated to somewhere out from under the cloud.

Hopefully it won't effect me much when I have to drive down southwards in a while, fortunately not near to Hemel. But the trafic might be backed up big time at the far ends of the motorways I'll be on. Wish me luck.

Oh my goodness! Serenity three!!! Yeeeesssss! Thats the best news I've had all day.

In fairness my day's been rubbish. Getting a puncture on the M25 in the outside lane doing 70 mph is not fun. I cried so much the AA lady had to calm me down before I could tell her where I was. But S3 yay!

Also I went up to London yesterday with my Grandpa to see the Xmas lights on Oxford street. We walked past a theatre and who should appear from the stage door but Patrick Stewart. He's such a nice guy and very short too. Very random chance encounter.

Matt's having a whale of a time but who doubted he would really? Wish I was there more than words can express.

Explosions are not good and from what I hear this was especially nasty. Glad all are OK.

Can not wait till next weekend. I get to see the randomites. Get in. Miss you all.

N0S: Gaaak, footsball. Be sure to check out cricket when you move to the UK base. Like baseball, only more insane and unfathomable. There's one position called 'silly mid-on' or something similarly bizarre and seemingly random. When I realized the pitcher was trying to -hit- the batter with the ball, I appreciated it even more.

Any words of cricketty wisdom, silliness, or enthusiasm from you Brits??? I love cricket, and I don't get it much at all.

There are those currently suggesting that S3 and S4 in fact will not be happening, because Sean Harry hasn't indicated that he was planning to do any more Firefly/Serenity cons. The pictures on the Starfury site may be an error.
