Howdy. I'm the new guy. I just recently got hooked on this quirky little show called Firefly. I had never heard of it until the movie was coming out. I've always been a sci-fi fan and as soon as I saw the previews I wanted to see the film. Unbeknownst to me my little sister was already a huge fan of the show and told me about it after I saw and loved the movie. I have since watched the entire series on DVD, numerous times and I can't get enough. I haven't been this engrossed in a TV show since I started watching Smallville. I'm here to help support in any way I can and learn a little more about the greatest thing I never knew existed.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Anything I should definitely read, find out, or otherwise cram into my brain as a newly dedicated fan? Everytime I watch an episode I sit here in disbelief that this show was cancelled. Not only that but that it was not immediately picked up by another company. I think it fits right in on Sci-Fi, perhaps NBC can work out a deal with Fox and port the show over??? One can only hope right? BTW, anyone else here head over heels for Kaylee?

Aside from the series/film, the comic books from Dark Horse Comics are also really, really excellent. Helps to bridge the gap between the two. Also, there's a downright chilling little video at www.session416.com that gives you a rough idea of just how badly the Alliance messed with poor River's brain.

And yes, Kaylee is, indeed, a truly wonderful example of the magnificent flower of womanhood.

I ALSO am a n00b. I've been "lurking" in a sense, but without having signed up...I have found in the past that forums for such things (video games, movies, and tv shows) are a great place to get pre-release info. I was on HL2.net/forums long before HL2 was released, and knew a lot about it before hand. Same goes with DOOM and The Mars Volta's latest work, "Frances the Mute". SO here I am, ready and willing to search old posts and keep up with current. now please, all firefly haters.... bi zui!

P.S. - does this board have PM capability? If so, will someone pm me about Avatar/Picture stuff and signature stuff....basically how to make MY posts unique and stand out. xie xie

Well, if the fortunes are kind, I should be bringing a bunch of folks onto FFF.net shortly. We've got one fellow in my neck of the woods who makes my obsession look piddly, and another married couple who bought a copy of Firefly for both of their parents, sight unseen to their folks, for Christmas. And they likes it. Plus, I've threatened to leave my fiance if she doesn't sign up.
