Only 91 views! C'mon people we need more votes! These are really quite prestigious, (certainly more so than the IMDB polls) with the winners generally coming and picking up their awards in London. It may be a UK mag but nothing to stop everyone else voting (you don't even have to supply an address when you register).

We already won the BBC Film 2005 award, so no reason why this shouldn't follow.

Empire really liked Serenity - gave it four stars (from five) in its review, a big multi-page feature in the October issue, and ultimately rated it at number nine in their Top 25 Films of the Year. They also hosted a superbly funny webchat involving Joss, Nathan, Summer and Morena (the transcript of which is still available to read on their site, I think).

I'm quietly confident that the BDM and its stars, especially Nathan, will rate quite highly. I've cast my votes - now, come on everybody else!

Good luck Serenity. Here's hoping for a win - since a Best Picture/Actor Oscar probably isn't in the cards...
Maybe they could pick up a nomination for Visual FX or sound or something.
It's a real shame. I think that just because it's sci-fi, it's immediately dismissed by the major awards people.

Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy: Serenity
Best Newcomer: Summer Glau
Sony Ericsson Scene of the Year: The Bar Fight, Serenity

* I think it would be quite logical to put in Gina, Jewel or Morena in there, too. However, most reviewers are mentioning Summer's performance so I just picked the one that would most likely win.

Hey Guys,

This is my first post.A brief history,im from ireland,never saw firefly over here,stumbled across serenity trailer on apple trailers (yeah, great promo campaing universal!).Dragged my friends along to see it kicking and screaming, coming out of the cinema they loved it (they arent big sci-fi types, shows the wide appeal of the show/movie). Got firefly for christmas and was heartbroken to reach episode 14 so soon :(

Anyway, my 2 cents...how bout we do one of those email voting things; just send the link to empire to all of your friends asking them to spend 5 mins voting for serenity. One of those "1 person tells 10 ppl who tell 10 more ppl each", etc.

There was an infamous one of these emails that got a 'rebel rousing' irish song voted song of the century or something on the BBC (A bit like the browncoats getting a song about them voted number 1 on the core worlds!)

I would think that at some point they will take the 4 of 5 highest vote winners in each categoray and then have those as the nominations, which people can then continue to vote for. Whether they will have the pre-nomination votes stand or start from scracth again, I don't know. But if they do start from scratch, I assume everyone will be eligible to vote again. So, I guess what I am trying to say in the longest possible terms is EVRERYONE VOTE!
