In the UK Serenity is currently at No6, it even got to number 2 last week, and it hasn't even been released here yet. Firefly is hovering around the top 50.

Looking good in Germany as well, currently 28 (!). Considering the fact that Firelfly has never been shown on tv and Serenity didn't well on the big screen it's quite surprising. I wonder if it can get even higher.

The ironic thing is I just heard an add on TV for "Flightplan" and it said it was the number one DVD in sales. It would be ironic if Flightplan knocked Serenity off since Flightplan was the bane of Serenity during the early days of Serenity release. Of course I don't hope that happens. I wonder of Jodie Foster has seen Firefly. If so maybe she could make ammends by guest starring in next movie.

That's the opposite of irony. Irony, or what browncoats would probably call poetic justice, would be a Serenity/Firefly spinoff knocking a Flightplan: The Series off the air.

I think this is great, but we've got some problems - both Serenity and Firefly have plummeted over the last few days. Weird; it seemed to happen out of nowhere.

Ah well, we held strong for a while... now it's time to blow 'em away in Australia and the UK...

And Serenity is still the No. 5 selling DVD of all of them ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/new-for-you/top-sellers/-/dvd/all
/ref=pd_ts_h/102-4211342-5983361), which impresses me even more. From the time the pre-orders were made available, it's spent most of its time at #3, and only recently started to fall off a touch from that.

The little movie that could!

Also, I'm sure I'm the very LAST person to know this, but I just saw the pilot to Battlestar Gallactica, and (long story about how I came to see it short) Serenity (or, at least a Firefly transport) has a cameo!!! The camera work felt super familiar, and I was all nostalgic anyway, but then to see that beautiful, ugly profile in the sky....!

Firefly is number 11 that's cool for a canceled TV series and Serenity is 5. It's beating out Courpse Bride and Flightplan, the movie that beat Serenity in theaters. We are also beating Star Wars, Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. That is only amazon sales. There has to be more I know I bought my DVDs from Best Buy. Can we find the stats for all dvd sales?

I haven't been able to find any real numbers, but you can at least see Serenity's position on the sales chart here:

As of 1/15/2005, Serenity was at #17 and sold 6.5 copies for every 100 copies of Wedding Crashers which was the top-seller.

Also, I read somewhere that Serenity's pulled in a bit more than $9 million in rentals since being released to home video.

I tried "Lost for 3 episodes. Now I can suspend belief with the best of them. This requires more then suspention you need complete elimination.

According to the IMDb Serenity is now number 44 on the rental charts and has grossed a modest 7.10 million.

Ok 8 million on that chart, now whip up for the taotal sales chart and the money it made when first introduced. then take into account the fact that this movie will have legs. So the flavor of the month vidieo's currently toping the chart will be long gone. Serenity will still be there(cult following almost always hang in there longer)
