Well, "fan video" is probably not the right phrase. "Mourning video" might be closer to the mark.

Obviously, we all miss Wash. This is simply a little dedication to our man Hoban, and it features an excerpt from the song "Highwayman" sung by Johnny Cash. I heard the song shortly after Serenity premiered, and this closing verse fit so perfectly for Wash that I've been desperately waiting for the DVD release to finally work on this little video.

after I saw the movie for the first time I too had such a case of shell shock that I couldn't bring myself to even watch the series for a whole month. I don't think I'll ever get over Wash's death, but I've sort of quasi accepted it. Everytime I hear Three Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis on the radio though I still loose it. If you've never heard the song go listen to it and you'll see the similarities. Anyway... my point is, very good video. keep flying and keep up the good work!

That shouldn't make me cry, wow such a touching tribute... does anyone else think that if the movie had been an episode, that would have played right before the credits?... seriously though: if universal gives us a 2disc special edition of the movie for christmas, that better be on there!!

As listed in the credits, the song is "Highwayman." It is available on the album Highwayman by the Highwaymen, which consisted of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson. (There is a lot of highwayman-ing going on in that paragraph.)

I edited the song down to only Cash's verse, since it was the one that I felt explicitly fit with Wash. The rest of the song is awesome, but it didn't fit as well with the theme I was going for.

Anyway, thanks for all the comments (and the bumps), guys! Glad you guys got something out of the video.
