I was just wondering if anyone here used Gmail and if they did what they thought of it.

Does it live up to the hype?

I think it's pretty good. Took me a bit to get used to the layout, but that's just because I was using another web-based e-mail service for 8 years and it looked very different. But yeah, Gmail's good.

I use gmail with the notifier for all my stuff here and I love it.

It’s a bit darn odd that you still have to be invited to set up an account though. Its makes it very hard to sign up!

I love gmail! Saving past e-mails is easy and you can ever save conversations which makes my life tons easier. I really like it because it refreshes ALL BY ITS SELF! Yahoo doesn't do that and it gets old to keep checking it. Anyways thats all.

I love Gmail and the notifier (especially since it's one of the only good email sites that i know of that i can access from school )

Gmail is very shiny. The email package we use at work is terrible in comparison. The chat feature is nice too, although a bit distracting- you can tell when your gmail friends are logged in and whether or not they have been idle for awhile.

One thing I can't figure out is how to set up lists in gmail. The only way to email multiple people that I can see is to type in all the emails or check the names in the contacts list every time. Anyway, if anyone knows how to set something like this up, I'd love to know how.

Welcome. I hope you like it. Gmail has its good and bad parts. Overall, though, I think it is fun to use and quite unique.

Gammaraygirl, do you just mean sending an email to multiple people? For me at least, you don't have to type in the full email addresses, just the start letter of each name or address in the "To" bar and then you click from the options. Or, you could set up a group I think, although I have no need for one myself so I don't know if that's what you're looking for.
My apologies if you're talking about something completely different and I'm being really stupid, haha!

Gmail scans your emails and uses it to compile a profile on you which determines the kind of adverts you see when using it. There is also so vagueness in its privacy contract.
