I've managed to find a grand total of 4 in my serach of the web- can anyone help me out in my search for more? Pretty please? There was one on an Angelfire site I found whilst on a computer at school (& thus I was unable to download it) but now can't relocate...

There are a few out there, however most of them are mediocre quality; you can try Kazaa. I myself am currently working on a video using Godsmack's Serenity. There is already one out there with this music however I think that mine will blow it out of the water (no offence to it's creator, as I respect anyone who cares enough about Firefly to create a Fan Vid) I will keep your handle on my desktop and let you know when it's completed, probably two weeks or less. There's more than 4 Firefly vids out there. The last count I did turned up at least 70 of them. I don't think you looked in the right places.

Oh, ImEarly, I doubt if your vid to Gobsmack's Serenity will blow Luminosity's out of the water. She's a damn good vidder. Sorry, dude.

When I search I normally try "fan vids" as part of the search term, which yields about ten hits usually if I specify a fandom! So thanks for the heads up. :)

I wouldn't call it rude, all materials (music and video) belong to neither vidder, so I'd say it's up for grabs. And who's to say (besides the vidders themselves) if these vids happened independently of each other with neither vidder knowing anything of the other, or if one came later, still unknowing of the other's existence, or knowing but wanting to put a different spin on it cuz the "original" didn't satisfy them creatively?

The only thing that I would say could be rude (and downright wrong and punishable by flaming monkeys) is if a vidder took another vidder's work in part or whole and incorporated into their own and passed it off as being solely edited by them.

As far as vidding etiquette, I think it's hoped that songs will not be beaten to death, within a genre and even across many genres. But it's certainly not rude. Godsmack's "Serenity" is a highly apt song for Firefly and Mal specifically (almost *too* apt! Are they fans?) and I'm frankly surprised that there's not more vids making use of this song.

Anyhow, I know the original request for vids is more than a year old, but I thought I'd throw this out there, in case anyone hungry for vids hasn't found this yet:

Well, the daughter of Embassy huh? I really respect all that your father has done for me. I have no website to host my videos and he is being very kind to host them for me.

Mistakes happen, and I’m sorry there was a misunderstanding. Truthfully though, when I found out that there was another video of Serenity I was pretty upset with myself.
