Not new, just ... well, guess I'm sort of new

I've been a browncoat from the first episode on that network. I think I signed up here many years ago and got dropped - I remember the petition thing and emails but didn't have my own interweb at the time so never was able to come back.

But I have been here in spirit from the beginning. For 3-1/2 of those years, I was the only one I knew of and had no idea what was going on besides what was in EW or tvguide. Even my gorramsister, who I can usually corrupt-- er, convert , tailed off after the first few episodes.

So it was with real excitement that I found out about the movie last spring. Didn't find out about screenings til it was too late but I've been hanging around for a while now. Even got my own interweb now. So I hope to see y'all around!

Well, as long as other new folks are jumpin in I might as well too. Been lurking around these parts a fair while now. Y'all are a real shiny group of folk, happy to finally post here. I reckon I might stay a spell, if you don't mind?

By the way, my wife is to blame for me finding out about the 'verse. I remember vaguely hearing about Firefly when it was on television, thought "sci-fi western? Ahhh, I think I'll pass." We were shopping at Target in November last year and she saw the box set of Firefly and said maybe we should pick it up, it was by Joss and we liked Buffy and Angel enough to own all of those on DVD. Needless to say, after getting it home and watching the shows(again and again) I felt like a complete idiot for my earlier thinking. The show is amazing, totally floored me. I have NEVER been sucked into a show so quickly, become attached to characters so fast. I could not believe that I had gone that long without seeing this, then had that "Damn Fox!!!" line of thinking that so many here have already expressed.
I have tried to convert as many folks as I can since then. We can only hope that one day there will be more.

Had Firefly for my birthday this year. 32yrs old
What have I been missing out on?
Firefly was never shown on TV in the UK.
