I like when they're in the ship and Jayne and Mal are trying to tell Wash how to fly.

I also like when Mal comes out and it goes

Mal: Put Book front and center, he's our friend, an honour. Kalee, find that kid whose taking a dirty nap with baby jesus; we need a hood ornament. Jayne, try not to steal to much of their sh***. Wash...

Those are some of the funniest scenes. I also like it when he's dancing in front of the crashed ship and when he walks into those tree branches after he rescues Inara.

First, it's find that kid, not that Cuban. Second, I also love the branch one and the dancing one was so random I just had to laugh. The one in the beginning when Zoe starts cussing and says she sounds like him if funny as well, oh and I can't remember who it was about but Nathan Fillion does this mime thing about someone drinking and it is hilarious.

I like the extended outtakes, The message,the camera is panning around, and Nathan is in just about every shot, everybody is cracking up, and in the final shot he is on top of the kid in the casket. Kaylee just lost it after that, hillarious stuff.

oh I forgot all about that one. It really startled me the first time and my stepsister just stared at the screen like she'd seen the looniest tune in loonville. So of course I watched it several more time and acted it out to my unintiated friends. As if they weren't frightened enough by me and my fannish obsessions anyways.

I can't believe no one's mentioned the silent Summer / Nathan rivalry in Serenity's cockpit! The one where they start pressing buttons one after another, and Nathan ends up throwing one of Wash's dinosaurs at her. I cried I was laughing so hard at that one!

My favorite and I'm not sure why is when Nathan goes to shoot the Alliance crew member that's climbing out of the crashed ship and then he turns back to the camera and says "My cartridge fell out of my gun". I just think his voice is so funny, especially since he's supposed to be so serious. That's probably the same reason I like when he tells Adam to "try not to steal too much of their s**t". Hi-larious.

in the original clip there was music playing (in the verison i saw at the serenity convention last year), but im guessing for copywright purposes they didnt have the licence to clear the music for the clip so its just silent on the dvd

-the whole 'message' scene from the extended ff gag reel, as soon as kaylee cracks thats when i want to pee my pants

I love the line where in the movie where he tells Kaylee to grab that kid taking a dirt nap with baby Jesus. Kaylee's reaction is just priceless as she totally falls apart laughing.

I also like the part where he asks if everyone was watching and if they saw them fight then yells TRAP!!!!!! That is too funny!!

I love the whole "back spaceshipe driver" sequence, but the end where Alan gets up and says "You wanna fly? Fine, f***ing fly. I'll be in my bunk!"

I also love the part where Nathan screws up his line and Morena says "You f***ed up." It's great because Nathan really seems to love his character and the show and is probably the most professional one. I bet he was always getting on people to really perform well, so it's funny when he messes up and she points it out to everybody. It shows that great chemistry between the two.

Definitely the "TRAP!!!" one. I watch that one at least three times every time it comes along. Why didn't they use that one? It would have been so damn perfect for the situation. If they'd gotten a reaction shot from Kaylee, it'd be ruttin' sublime.

As an aside, is there any gorram place in the 'Net that I can find the gag reel NOT in quicktime format?

That is hands down, my favorite. I just love everyone's expression as it dawns on them just what Nathan is saying.

I think my other is from the series with the flashback of Wash with the miles of mustache and the pan to Mal and Zoë who are sporting similar facial hair. It looked like a Groucho Marx convention.

Yeah, definately the "Message" gag, with Nathan getting into every single shot. Best part is seeing everyone else crack up, and Nathan's still playing it totally straight. Love how he's still selling the "Mal being pensive" looks, gets me every time :)

I have to find that extended gag reel now. I'll have to check out those sites when I'm back to my own computer. Any place where you can actually get it on disk? My player on my comp is pretty good, but if I have to stream anything it just doesn't work.

I thought the extended gag reel was hilarious, havin many strong points... but there are some scenes you guys are talking about that aren't in the version I must be seeing.

For example, "Put Book front and center. He's our friend, we should honor him."

I didn't even know of that entire scene. Could someone direct me to where these scenes can be found? I even watched the one linked here... but I didn't find anything.

That outtake is part of the Serenity DVD (the movie). If you haven't seen the movie or bought the DVD, do so! The outtakes are as hilarious as the ones in Firefly. :)

My favorite part of the outtakes from Serenity is actually watching Adam Baldwin. He's usually the last one to fall out of character, and when he does, the change that comes over his face as he stops being Jayne and turns into Adam is just priceless.

Zoe's blurb-up at the safe is funny, but Adam's sticking his head in, hearing the f-word, and then dropping the Jayne mask to say "Oops!" straight to the camera makes it really hysterical.

lol, guess I just had to let it download for awhile... 'bout two hours, but I got it to open!
I don't even know how to describe how funny this is! I collapsed on my desk when I saw Nathan jump and hang on to the edge of the closing door, that was one of the funniest things ever! And the extended scene with the mustaches! And the "Message" one. How did he play that so deadpan? About killed me. Some of the stuff Allen was saying also had me busting a gut. And Adam forgetting his "time for some thrilling heriocs" line; he was all set to deliver it and just blanked. Hi-larious! Oh, I don't think I could pick a favorite.
Other than a couple spots of, uh, copyright-sensitive stuff, any ideas why they couldn't put most of this on the DVD?

Well my favorite outtakes were a tie - TRAP and "kid takin' a dirt nap with baby jesus" were the favs - until I saw the Firefly gagreel. Now I have to say that its a 3 way tie - the above and The Message - when Nathan keeps popping up everywhere.

Of course, TRAP!!!

That one never gets old. Still cracks me up every time! It's really the way Nathan contorts his face like that when yelling TRAP!!!

Some other honorable mentions include the Dirt Nap and Back-Spaceship Driver.

From the TV series, I still get a kick out of when Mal and Zoe are wearing moustaches as Wash turns around, in Out of Gas. KF

The backship spaceship driver scene that has been mentioned is indeed pretty funny.

My favorite though, and one that I can't believe hasn't been mentioned is the extended scene from Mal talking to the Op at the end of the movie. Op mentions to Mal that he lost everything at the Battle of Serenity and asks how he went on from there, and as Mal is walking away he mutters to himself "what a whiner..".

It's that perfect funny moment mixed into a very serious scene, I wish they had left that in the movie.

Now that I think of it though, don't know if that really qualifies as an outtake ;).
