im assuming these are illegal.. so i dont think this is the place to post this, and u shouldnt be posting it at all. Dont get me wrong, I download tvrips on a weekly basis.. but selling them is against the spirit of the internet.. information is free to be shared.

as long as they aren;t charging an arm and a leg, i don't see the problem with posting this here........

i mean while you may download tv rips regulary, some folks just don;t have a fast enough connection to effectively download them, and, lots of folks don't have burners, this is just allowing these folks access to the shows they enjoy, and would glady pay much, much more for if commercially available.

OPTIMUS1998 was right, TRS80 sold a few sets so did a few other fans.

What is "spirit of the internet" according to you mate. I guess its a matter of opinion. Its not for you to judge, if you don't want to purchase them, don't i am not asking you. I have had a few people already asking for them.

Ok then, tell us.. how much are you charging for them? if its more than about $2.50 then you are simply profiteering.. and taking the glory and profit for other peoples hard work (rippers/release groups etc). And its illegal to do so, i dont think the ppl that run this site would like you making them accessories to illegal activities... and its not even firefly... so shove off.

Do you know what a DVD is, $2.50 are you having a laugh or what, do you know how much dvd-r cost.

Try and buy 14 dvd-r for $2.50

This is not some cheap vcd that you might be used.

When was the last time you bought a DVD never mind a 14 disc set. $2.50 please tell me where i can buy them for that much..????

I have bought Odyssey from Loves_serenity and they were top class, excellent quality from the type of branded discs to the artwork.

haha enterprise is good.. and its getting better now with this big story arch thats going on.
i buy my dvd-rs for ~AU$2 per disc down here in australia (which would be about $1.50 US i think, and about 0.9 pounds or something [dam aussie dollar ;)] ), not sure what the prices are like in your parts of the world tho. And you could fit at least 5 or 6 episodes on one dvd.

anyhoo.. like i said was in a cranky mood yesterday, then everyone got agressive, so then so did i.. hehe, i appologise again ;)

Only Enterprise ep I've seen worth watching was the one set in my 'hood. They've got some awesome shots of Michigan Ave. down by the club where I hang on weekends.

The original post never offered the dvd's for sale - he said email for information. So this little flame war that seems to be started is all for blah...

But one the other hand 2.50 per disc is actually a fair price. If your buying DVD's for more than a buck each, do better price checking online.

I actaully end up buying mine at CompUsa and they are almosyt always on sale 10 for 7.99 or 25 for 19.99

And the "spirit of the internet"! Someone tell me what porn has to do with this debate?

Ahem, I know this was pointed out already but this is extremely illegal and if someone reports this to the proper people then the site could get closed down because of it. Doesn't matter whether it is Firefly or Enterprise. The studios do crack down on this stuff more so than the music industry.

By the way, to the person selling these boot legs, do know that you could be fined a lot of money if caught as well as prison time. This isn't funny and the movie studios don't consider it a laughing matter.

Plus, you have no right to sell DVDs or whatever else you burn as you do not own the material. Sharing is one thing to an extent but selling is not tolerated at all by the movie industry.

Just a word of warning and if I was an administrator of this forum I would delete all the threads of selling these boot legs.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Buying Enterprise DVD's on here, which is what everyone's discussing, is in violation of international copyright laws because Paramount has NOT released them to DVD yet.

I'm surprised that the webmaster of this site is allowing this continue considering what is currently happening to http://www.sg1archive.com

They are being sued and prosecuted by the Justice Department.

Just to make it clear to everyone, Paramount is thinking about releasing the Enterprise DVD boxed sets sometime next year. With the future beyond that of Enterprise Season 4, they're going to need a new Star Trek release after the Season 7 Voyager set is released after December of this year. I'd probably expect the E seasons to be released every four-to-six months after that.

This thread is a microcosm of the entire debate on copyrights vs. freedom of information. What I see in these posts are two basic groups of people: those who believe (for ethical or legal reasons) that selling/sharing copied information is wrong and those who believe (for philosophical or financial reasons) that it is acceptable.

I think this “great divide” occurs because of the intangible nature of copyrighted information. Most folks don’t dispute the belief that they can’t sell someone else’s home even if the owner isn’t interested in selling it… because it is a singular, physical thing. But when you start talking about information (text, audio, video) that can be duplicated for little or no cost, the battle lines are drawn.

Regardless which camp you pitch your tent in, the cold hard fact is that both national and international laws fall squarely on the side of the copyright holders. Folks who break those laws (by providing or consuming such copied material) put their freedom and financial state at risk. This holds true without regard for whether the provider makes any money on the transaction at all, or even if the provider LOSES money on the transaction. From the law’s perspective, the fact that the transaction took place deprived the copyright holder of his absolute RIGHT to determine the use of his creation (to sell or not to sell at his/her sole discretion).

There are two ways to change laws: legislative effort within the system and civil disobedience. Laws have been changed using both methods. However, the latter method is usually successful only after a significant amount of human wreckage (in the form of fines and jail time) has been piled up in the courthouse.

My own choice is to pay the people who create entertainment for me… as long as they can afford to feed and house themselves, maybe they’ll be willing to make some more entertaining stuff for me. And I like staying out of jail.
