Finally, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr is coming out on DVD. The date is set for July 18 (I assume this US only, I don't know). To find out more details go to http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=5391

So did the cover art you wanted win?

It retails for $99.99? Why, for only a few more bucks you could have Ash's shotgun. You can get it in S-Mart's sporting department for about $109.99...

I'm SO psyched. And I voted for the other cover, BUT I DON'T CARE!!!
I can finally toss those crappy tapes!

On Brisco, On Comet, On Bowler, On Swills;
On Warner, Do hurry and bring on those thrills!

I'm a sick puppy Chrisisall

Yeah, these DVDs will be pretty sweet. Bruce Campbell is just fun to watch in whatever show he's in. Maybe if Firefly is resurrected on TV Bruce can guest star. Maybe as Mal's wayward dad, a grizzled old outlaw with a heart of gold!

This Browncoat loves Brisco...she's just appalled at the price tag on it. I'm hoping that either Amazon or Costco has it at a considerably more reasonable price.

And, yea! The cover I voted for won.

Wow. I've been waiting for this set for a while, but with a price like that, it's almost like they don't want to sell many copies.

Okay, it's got more episodes than an average season set... but damn.

Deepdiscountdvd.com is taking pre-orders at $75.61 each (with free shipping). Still pricey, but much better.

If I was lookin' at 7 seasons at that price, I'd be , but it is Brisco, and it is a one time expenditure (and that's just what they want us to think).
Resistance, in this matter at least, is futile.

Yeah, but somehow I still feel like I'm at the wrong end of Pete's Piece.

Here's a few places with better prices
Amazon is listing it for $69.99
http://tinyurl.com/jb8dp

And the members price at B&N is $71.98
http://tinyurl.com/hf9nc

That's a bit better, but it still hurts.

Hey, I'm in line! Among a tiny circle of friends, we still say, "I was just gut shot" when recovering from some dire illness or injury. With this release my dream collection of TV shows on DVD is almost complete. Max Headroom, where are you?

Max Headroom will do it. It's a pretty short list of borderline life changing, or at least epiphany inducing shows: The black and white Emma Peel Avengers episodes, Max Headroom, and Brisco County Jr. What I can't figure out is why the Prisoner isn't on the list.

My wish list is:

Brisco
Special Unit 2
Space Precinct
The Invisible Man (the sci-fi channel one)
A Special Autolycus collection of Hercules and Xena

Jack of All Trades, that's a good one, I'd almost forgotten about that show.

There are probably more but my brain isn't working that great today.

Idiotic fan notation:
Did you notice that Bruce was very lanky as Autolycus, but filled out signifigantly as Jack of All Trades came around?

True. Bruce's commentaries are always fun. which is why I have the 'Official Bootleg Edition' of Army of Darkness.

I'm trying to save up, too, and for Pennsic and trying to unload my old (and needs several repairs) car. *gah*

oh, and my Wish List:

Quark
Fantastic Journey
Invisible Man (the one with David McCallum and the later one from SciFi Channel)
When Things Were Rotten
Barney Miller (Season's 2 and up)

Sorry to hijack the thread, we will return to the advertised programme after this brief announcement.
Chrisisall, I thought you might like to know that some episodes of Martial Law have been released on VCD. This website www.hkflix.com has 10 episodes (from season one I think). The picture quality isn't perfect on the one I've seen and you can't switch off the subtitles but it's nice to see some official releases.

And now for something completely different.

Psst, Chris, according to Bruce Campbell Online:

Quote:

Perhaps it was the fan-applause for the upcoming release of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. DVD that contributed to the resurrection of JOAT, but regardless, the series is coming out on DVD before long.

So, pretty soon, you'll be able to display both of Bruce's single-season, cancelled television series right next to each other. Hooray!

It doesn't say when, but according to them it is coming.
