Can anyone tell me how to say big sister?

"Jie" is acceptable in the vernacular, especially when addressing the person directly, or when preceded by a diminutive possessive (eg. "ni jie" = "you big-sister" but really means "your older sister").

"Jie jie" is somewhat more formal.

"Da jie" (never doubling the "jie") means "eldest big-sister". If you have more than one you'd call them "Da jie" (big big-sister), "Er jie" (Two big-sister) "San jie" (Three big-sister) and so on.

The pronunciation sounds somewhatlike the word "Yeah" with a fronted J sound tacked on in front of it. It's a third tone word (falling-rising) which also means it should be pronounced a little on the long side.

Right.
Older sister = Jie jie
Sister = Jei Mei
Younger Sister = Mei Mei

oldest Older sister = Da jie
Second oldest Sister = er Jie (er = 2)
3rd oldest Sister = san Jie (san=3)

Works the the same with Younger sister
Youngest Sister = Shao Mei
second youngest = er Mei
Oldest younger sister = Da Mei

Youngest sister would actually be "xiao mei" rather than "shao mei." That sounds more like burning little sister. :)
