I know how you feel. I got so annoyed by all the squabbling that I logged off and stayed away for a few days, and as FollowMal says this home of ours hasn't been so shiny lately. I think (IMHO) it's just evidence of the deep passions this show generates (hell, I get protective of it too! lol) - and we just need to remember that those same passions are what brought us together, and we need to stay together. Sure, we're bound to hit rough patches (even the crew of Serenity had those) but we need to be here for each other...

...and laugh - and eat strawberries, and chat about old times that made us fall in love with the 'verse and find our way here.

The good times will be back, we just gotta hold the line and get more strawberries in....

I'm not even following what's happening in the other event-related threads (they seem to be out of control anyway).
The planned event was gaining momentum constantly, and now... this.

I really think the thread about changing date should have never been started.
Whatever, let's hope something good will come of it anyway, but I don't have the time nor the energy to follow.

I impulse-bought another copy of the Firefly DVDs today :D Finding people to gift it to always excites me, makes me happy.

In my experience, a healthy dose of depression can serve well to make the good things in life a little sweeter, if you have the will to choose them.

But Haken posted yesterday and it seems the thing has been settled and in a very positive way, with a shiny bunch of stuff to do all summer now, in the run up to September 30th. We're still going to do a June 23rd event, my personal favorite part being supporting the screenings for charity, and then we are going to have many things to keep the fandom connected until September 30th. I have great faith that our leaders can give us jobs, some big, some small that will help us to participate. I like it! I hope you will join in some small way too.. I don't have much time, I run my own business, but I'm looking forward to doing what I can to say thanks to Univeral.

Oh, I got the ringtone alright, I just used the otherwise useless Memo feature on the phone. It's a little muddy but still usable. Now I have the theme, lyrics and all on the phone!
