Yeah, Back To The Future is my favourite time-travel piece (all three, I consider them one story).

Demon With A Glass Hand is another, being an Outer Limits episode starring Robert Culp.

But there's a lot to choose from out there, what are other favourites?

Doctor Who.

Probably the greatest character in science fiction. That should, perhaps, be characterS as the series has perpetuated itself longer than time itself through the concept of regeneration (the alien lead character can cheat death by transforming his physical shape).

The longest running science fiction show period (so I understand), this has recently been revived and revitalised... and is currently one of the best things the UK has produced in many a year(speaking has a resident)!

I'm a big fan of the 1960 THE TIME MACHINE.

But I recently caught a very interesting British produced time film from the 50's called Timeslip Very interesting as things jump seven seconds ahead. Pretty clever flick.

Also there was a little understated one with Jeff Daniels called Timescape (I think) where tourist fromm the future come back to the present to witness 'Great' disasters . Nifty.

Favourite TT show is Dr Who. The show hit rock bottom with Sylvester McCoy, however it looks like they now have the perfect writers on board and really nailed it with the 2 latest Drs
Favourite TT Movie.... I do too have a hankering for Murloc action in the 1960 HG Wells Time Machine and how can I forget Back to the Future :)

Let's get on with it, shall we?

The Terminator: Its one of those movies, that, on first viewing, you don't think about it. The glaring paradox. How can John Connor send Kyle Reese back in time to become his father, if Kyle hasn't been back in time yet? In the end...it doesn't matter.

Somewhere In Time: What? Time travel movies can't be tearjerkers too?

Time After Time: I absolutely adore this movie. HG Wells and Jack The Ripper locked in an intellectual tug of war. Herbert talks of the utopia the future must be, and Jack finds the land of his dreams in modern day America. Well paced, well acted, and well directed. I would suggest this one to anybody.

Back To The Future: Fast paced and action filled. Not the description you would expect about a movie when a time machine takes a teenager back to the 1955. Even the dialogue in this movie seems to snap. And, it introduced two of the most beloved characters in film history. Dr Emmett Brown and Marty McFly. Come on. You remember seeing it for the first time, don't you? Remember being on the edge of your seat for the last ten minutes?

The Time Machine (2001): I've seen a lot of votes for the 1960 version, and they're well deserved. This version has one of the best musical scores I've ever heard. Creepy Jeremy Irons Ubermorlock and Guy Pearce as an action hero? Why not!

Donnie Darko: I hated this movie the first time I saw it, because I thought it was being weird singularly for the sake of being weird. Such is not the case, I've discovered. It grew on me, and I've been grateful to myself ever since for giving it the second chance.

In a side note, there are a few films I'd like to mention here though they might not be considered time travel movies. Sliding Doors is one. One big game of what if. Memento is another. There's no time travel here, but, the pacing and presentation of the story is disorienting as Christopher Nolan almost forces the viewer to think like his protagonist...who cannot retain memories.

Definitely The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror V when Homer uses the time machine and goes back to the prehistoric age and swats one bug which alters the course of the time and makes Flanders the ruler of the world. Good stuff.

One that I did not see mentioned that I enjoyed was Star Trek First Contact.

Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure. Possibly the best single time-travel movie (trilogies don't count) ever made.

And yes, the Back to the Future trilogy makes it four definitive time-travel movies. Plus, being an 80s child, I love the first soundtrack ("Back in Time," "Power of Love," "Time Bomb Town"). . . Y'know, I haven't listened to it in years. I'm gonna go dig it out.

The "Avallon" arc in Gargoyles. Enough temporal crossing and re-crossing to give you whiplash, but it all works out --no paradoxes.

I'm also fond of TimeDancer, a little-known Gargoyles "authorized fanfic" (apparently based on the series creator's notes) spinoff (Brooklyn gets the Phoenix Gate and embarks on a century's worth of adventures, from ancient history to the distant post-Earth future).

The Time Machine for me was awsome not the remake though because thats kac. The original was far far better. Also Quantam Leap ruled when that was on.

I liked it despite figuring out the ending. I had seen the French movie it was based on "Le Jetee" which had beautiful cinematography.

Other n' that, I don't know many movies or shows, but my favorite stories are:

Star Trek, I know it isn't based on time travel but has alot of good episodes on it. Also Enterprise has a few good things (Temporal Cold War was a good background to the show.)

I kind of think of Star Trek as the daddy of time travel stories, it was done on those series more than anywhere else. I still find chronoton particles all over my house when I clean.

Hmm, what hasn't been named (that's still worth mentioning?) Army of Darkness is sorta time travel, but it's more "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" than a time travel movie.

Ah! Star Trek IV! Of the Star Trek canon, that was always my favorite, as far as the time travel goes.

And yeah, my personal favorites are probably 12 Monkeys for the film category and a toss-up between Quantum Leap and Seven Days for the show option.

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, of course. I grew up watching Quantum Leap so I have to have that on my list. Army of Darkeness (Bruce!!!)! Star Trek and Stargate have had a couple of fun time travel episodes as well. So far Dr Who is great (but I've only seen the few that have been on the sci-fi channel and the Paul McGann Dr Who). Of the top of my head that's what comes to mind. I'm sure there are more but finals have my brain all burnt out.

And Bruce Campbell is most certainly the B-Movie King!

Either it's a very long short-story or a prety short novel. ;)

NOTE: In looking at the reviews on Amazon, I see most people either liked it or absolutely hated it. I don't really see many "it was OK" kind of reviews...
