How often do you quote Firefly/Serenity

I quote Firefly/Serenity whenever I get a chance.
I quoted the dinosaur scene the other day in Agriculture class. I stood in front of the field held my arms up and said, “And it is a fertile land, and we shall call it, this land.” My friend, who is also a firefly fan just started cracking up. He tried to say the other part but it was just so out of the blue that he couldn’t stop laughing.

I don't even always know I'm doing it; stuff just pops out that seems to fit the situation and then I think "Hey! That sounded familiar..."

I'm always saying stuff from Firefly, although no one has a clue what the hell I'm on about!

Well I use Jayne's "Chain of command" quite a lot.
That always gets a laugh.
I use "go-se" a HELL of a lot.
"Special Hell" as well.
"Gorram" of course.
Not from the 'verse but I used this once and my mate was convinced it was from the show. Does seem to fit though.
"Me and you gonna have words of the non-verbal kind".
So I guess quite a lot.

I would say a couple of times a week at least but I just had people over for a shindig and we did all night! lol

I told my friend last night that a gig we went to was a mighty fine shindig. Hehe.
And im trying to replace Cool/Ok with "Shiny" in my vocabulary, but its hard.
I use River's Cow's line a lot too, whenever someone asks what something is.

Through the fire and the flames we carry on"

I never do. I do quote Star Wars. I do a great Yoda. Whenever I offer advice I do it in Yoda's voice. Chicks dig it.

It's kind of hard to quote Firefly since I'm talking German most of the time, and the German dubbing sucks, so I mostly just use "Shiny".
They screwed the "special hell" joke up, too.
And most of the rest.
BROWNCOATS UNITE!

I quote Firefly every day... saying gorram almost exclusively and using shiny so much that a few of my customers and our worker now use it.
I use "the special hell" sometimes under my breath when I'm particularly--- how shall I say this... I'm sure most wives will get this reference----uh "irritated" with my husband, lol.
Fireflyisms and "Mal-isms" have invaded my speech so much.
Over on the Appreciatin' Nathan crew we have a special section in our subforum to list all the ones we use and make up.
Yes, it's that bad!

I quote it 24/7. My non-browncoat friends have stopped asking me what I'm saying because they're so used to it. I mostly say "gorram" and "shiny" but I say "some people juggle geese" and "I think there may be a problem with your brain bein' missin'" But it's gotten to the point where I dont even know that I'm saying it. I just do. And if I'm in public, sometimes people look at me funny lol.

I only use shiny just because its so shiny lol

My problem is I want to quote it but usually in response to a student's annoying/ridiculous/inappropriate behavior and I'm not sure I should...
"Your mouth is talking...etc." was on the tip of my tongue once, but wasn't sure it was at all appropriate as the teacher to say! So I usually say lines in my head and it gets me through some tough classes!

Oh I find any and every way to reference Firefly/Serenity in my daily life. Beyond just using Gorram and Shiny in my common vocabulary (it also made me comfortable using 'ain't' again--which I do use about as often as 'y'all' now).
General situations:
Person: Wait how do you know how women's clothing fits?
Me: You can't open the book of my life and jump in the middle...
Me: That's interesting... And not of the "Oh God, Oh God, we're all gonna die" variety
Unfortunately I'm blanking on a lot of the other situations. Some of the really quotable and usable lines are stuff like:
"I aim to misbehave"
"Let's be bad guys"
"Mine is an evil laugh!"
"Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence? Or is this the wrong crowd?"
The "special hell" line
And the "'twixt my nethers" line.
Love that use of the "fertile land" line, though. So appropriate. KF

Lord, I'm walking your way. Let me in, for my feet are sore, my clothes are ragged.
Look in my eyes, Lord, and my sins will play out on them as on a screen. Read them all.
Forgive what you can and send me on my path. I will walk on until you bid me rest.

Same here! I haven't converted anyone (yet!) in my little group of friends, but whenever I say something from Firefly, they'll kinda look at me oddly, then look away, shaking their heads. Anyone else who hears me, however, has no idea what the hell I'm saying.

I say shiny a lot, mostly at work when things are going well. I got my friend to say shiny now, but she says she reserves it for when things are going REALLY well. It makes me happy.

Every time a qoute fits nicely into the conversation, and sometimes even when they don't. The one I'm using most at the moment though, is
"One of you is going to fall and die, and I'm not cleaning it up!" Mal, War Stories.
I have done Wash's first scene with his dinos so may time that my friend knew it off by heart, even before seeing it!
I love Wash! Bring back Wash!

A lot of the time I see Firefly quotes where they ain't. Somebody the other day said "hell... I want to live!" and I just assumed they were misquoting Kaylee (they weren't, I asked).
Sometimes my exwife comes out with something that's almost a word-for-word Firefly quote and (when I bother to tell her) it annoys her no end: she hates the way I'm so obsessed with the show, so it skeeves her to discover she's inadvertently quoting it.

Two mad teenagers running around the house, making a hell off a racket had me yelling "one of you two is gonna fall and die and I'm not cleaning it up!" It didn't work.
I say 'gorram' and 'shiny' all the time. And 'special hell'.

Has a kinda poetry to it.
I try not quote it all the time, for no reason. I mean, Zoe's terse. I can be terse. But no power in the 'verse can stop me once I get started.

I have a habit of saying some people juggle geese. It's a good segway into telling people about the 'verse. I try to work a qoute into just about every conversation. I'm a bit of wierdo though so most people just nod and laugh.
An I carried such a torch

I use "ruttin", "gorram" and "shiny" occasionally. I had occasion a few years back to use Jaynes "Shake your head! Your eyes is stuck!" line on a young guy at the airport who would not stop staring at me(there were no statues of me around.. he was just a weirdo).

I did the best one ever tonight. I tried to remember it, but its not exact... you've got to first realise that my friends mock-argue a lot and also, that most of them don't like Firefly
Anyway, it went as below
Friend: *Random insult*
My female friend: *Pretends to cry*
Me: Don't worry, he makes everyone cry, he's a monster."
Friend: That was from Firefly, wasn't it? Stop quoting that damned program...
Me: Your mouth is talking, you better look into that.
Friend: Im cooler than you, that makes me king.
Me: You know what the chain of command is? Its a chain I go get and beat you with till im in charge.
He just looked at me after that and said. "Those were all firefly quotes wern't they?" Hehe.
Wacky times.

I'm using 'Shiny' and 'gorram' quite a bit now, and the Chinese gets quite an outing at work since I'm not allowed to swear without getting written up. And one day when our computer system kept slowing down and crashing had me muttering that the situation was "begining to damage my calm."
With my Firefly friendly friends, I'm more likely to quote it more.

I used to say "SHINY" all the time until once when my baldheaded preacher shook my hand and asked how I was doing. I said "SHINY" and I believe he thought I was referring to his head. I may be going to the "Special Hell" after that one.

Shiny, Gorram and a few Chinese phrases come out of my mouth every day. But I love that special thrill that comes when you get to say lines like "I'm guessin you weren't burdened with an overabundance of schoolin", the "Your mouth is moving"... or the "Special Hell" speech and people look at you with a blank expression. That just cracks me up.
