Hey, i am a huge fan of FireFly and i have decided that im going to try and make a game, its not going to be anything overly great, it will be a online text-based game. what i really need is help on what it can be about if you know what i mean. if youve every played a text-based game before then youll probably know what i mean. i myself although im a great fan i cant remember what the currency in FireFly is called, what i really neeed to know is what the currencey could be, the weapons could be, the 'races' im was thinking browncoat alliance, and reavers :|, and any other stuff that you would think would be cool

The Serenity RPG http://www.serenityrpg.com/ would probably be of help to you in your endeavor.

For your specific questions Firefly has two common currencies Platinum and Credits. Platinum apears to be more of a rim world thing while Credits seem to be more in evidence in the Core. Weapons are all of the common weapon types of today with the occasional newtech device like a laser pistol (as used by Rance Burgess in Heart of Gold) or sonic stunners (as used by the Feds in Ariel and Trash.)

thanks for the replys, i am finding it kind of hard to find FireFly Weapons name that go with each 'race' i need 5 attack and 5 def weapons for each race so im finding it kind of hard to come up with name so far i have

The Mexican

but any help coming up with cool sounding wepaons names would be great

If not, I think that there's a bunch of info there as well. Also, I remember someone else talking about making a text-based game as well. So, if you are going to make your own, you might want to contact him/her for a collaberation. Can't remember exactly who, but searching the archives would bear fruit.

Or somewhat like a MUD (Muli-User Dungon), just more general.

They are text-based as well.

You should really look into the above link to see if it is what you're going to do. You might want to help if not making your own.

yeh im trying to make a game as wlel but im trying a board one and all this information just made it one hell of a lot easier and i dont relli dont know how to make a computer based game being 15 an all dont teach it for some reason
i recon the reavers would have some of the alliance and browncoats weapons though because they could of scavanged them off them
And Where in the Verse is the SHOTGUN thats my favorite weapon and Zoes one is amazing

thanks for the reply :D, i never thought of giving reavers normal weapons :D, what i really need is a name for it now, i was thinking Fire Fly Conquest but that does really have the x factor you know lol, i have already started coding this abd should hopefully have a beta soon, so what i really need now is a cool name

Well the Episode is The Message where he gets mailed a old war time bubby and he thinks back to the war and this missle shoots in and mal throws sumthing in the air and it follows it and explodes this will all make sence opnce you have watched them again

Well its not relli a board game more figuers like warhammer and the like only instead of using dice im going to use Cards (2 packs together)it make the game a lots faster and easier but making the weapons fair is relli hard because if i make them have to many cards then they take people out relli easy but if they have too little they wont be used and i have to have them all differnt so im kinda stuck there but i have played it a few times with my brother different rules each time and im always the Browncoats ahh the advantages of making the game hows yours coming along now you have a name

I wish i knew how to make a computer game but for now ill stick with board games and the like ill put the rules on here once ive finished the weapons and writen out the main rules there all in my head for now

Hi, sorry its been a while since ive posted, ive been doing the game though :D, you can now register to secure your name and planet name and get turns and stuff, you can buy men, but thats about it just now, im doing weapons today :D

That is amazing how do you do it yeh it does look like the offical website and i couldt help but notice the name and i am now registered on it as AAB and it looks great ive still not got anywhere with mine (cant get the weapons balanced) got tests in 6 days and my jobs got a lot busyer with the TT but ill get to it and post it here soon
put another post on here when youve got the weapons on id love to see them

hi :D the weapons are actually on, just your strike action dosent get calculated yet, theres only 5 Attack and 3 Def just now but thats because when you change race the weapons names change to sutiable names so it was kind of hard to get names

yeh i think theres some sort of bug because i've suddanly lost all my miners and stuff, now get no men per turn but this thing saying piolt ambassidor ect is there but other than that great game
p.s i can't wait for the technolegy page to be done whats going to be on it
also i'm about to contiue my game as my last test for about 14 weeks is tommoro
