Serenity will premiere on Cinemax 22nd of July at 10 pm. If it premieres on Cinemax, then it will also come on HBO probably a month or two later.

Whoo-hoo! All I remember reading about was USA paying for rights to air Serenity.
I wonder how much Cinemax and HBO paid Universal for the rights?

Let's post some Bring Back Firefly messages on Sci-Fi's Message Board. They must have some marketing people scanning the Board for "trends", etc.

I'm kind of mad. I no longer have cinemax so I won't be able to watch it on tv. I do own the dvd but still wanted to see it on tv. Now, I have to wait until it comes on HBO.

WOOT! I know where I'm gonna be on Saturday night, popcorn in hand and kicked back in my chair!
Right in front of my hubby's honkin' big tv... and everyone with me and everyone is going to enjoy it!
I'm just all kinds of happy! Hope this brings in crowds of new folks!
Thank you HarshCritic!

Do you think a letter writing campaign would help with Cinemax or HBO? They do occasionally make their own series...

Be back later and post!
Sorry for so many exclamation points, but this is a great idea!!

HEY THEY HAVE A CLIP FOR SERENITY ON THEIR HOME PAGE QuickTime and Windows Media

"LIFE NEEDS ADVENTURE"
"Joss Whedon's cult sci-fi TV series Firefly gets new life in this western-styled thriller that chronicles the adventures of a rickety spaceship's crew in a hostile future. See it Saturday night at 10 pm on Cinemax."
And if you have Cinemax on Demand, you can
see it anytime you want between

I hate to burst your bubble, but I read that HBO was against buying the rights of any canceled shows. This point was bought up when Arrested Development was looking for a new home and probably still is.

I've seen the BDM 2 times at the theater and countless times on DVD but I'll be there with popcorn, chocolate (the salty and sweet go great togther) and a soda.

About Arrested Development, I heard that the original writer wouldnt transfer over to HBO, and that is why they didnt want it anymore. As I recall, they would have done it if the writer would have come with the show.

I saw this in our newspaper's TV section and wrote a giant "Woo-Hoo!!!" in the margin. (And we don't even get Cinemax.)
Shiny.

Saw what? Pic? Which? Was there an ad for
Serenity or just the normal listing thing?
Good writeup? Stars etc?
Hoping for some new Browncoats even if they
don't get Cinemax. Like they see the blurb in
TV Guide and go rent it.

Well, first I spotted it in the normal grid, but then I found this write-up in the back of the TV section:
Quote:
Thanks to the post-mortem popularity of the series "Firefly" and the determination of the Browncoats -- those rabid "Firefly" fans -- this 2005 sci-fi drama made a decent showing. The original cast returns in a continuation of the story lines started in the series. However, you don't need to know the back story to enjoy it. Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk and Jewel Staite star.
Pretty shiny, I think. Look, we're "rabid" now!
